  4. Bear behavior is randomized. In the briefing should be written you have to investigate his intentions. If you replay the mission you can have different situations: - 2 mig23 escort - bear is hostile from the beginning - bear seems friendly and then hostile for trap ( your case ) - bear is friendly ( he can even fly over the carrier and then RTB )
  5. Hello guys! I'm searching books/videos/articles/etc. on training air-to-air combats in NATO side. TOPGUN, Dissimilar Air Combat Training , Red Flag , Green Flag ... no matter the source. I have some books about Red Flag and Adversary Squadrons and I've seen many videos on the matter , none of them speak about : - Rules of engagement ( Visual ID , min altitude of engagement , etc ? ) - different types of training ( 1 vs 1 , 2 vs 2 , guns only , Fox 2 , Fox 3 , etc ?) - AWACS support and ACMI tracking I know there is a forum rule about docs after 1980 , so , if in doubt , send me a PM!

  7. :thumbup: Pretty much every simulation in-game. One thing I noticed is after 30 min , when ground units falls to 500 total a have about 20-25 FPS. That maybe means ground units AI are CPU heavy.
  8. How many FPS you get? Are you using my settings?
  9. It does not offload the GPU , it optimize the workload between GPU and CPU. Look at this. https://medium.com/@toncijukic/draw-calls-in-a-nutshell-597330a85381 In an engine with a lot of objects ( like a flight sim ) and drawcalls Vulkan "should" greatly improve FPS.

  11. Hello guys! I would like to share results of a test I made. My goal was to test how much DCS engine can "take" managing air/land/sea units. This are my specs: Intel I5 7600 3.5GHz SSD 256 GB 16 GB DDR3 MSI GTX 1060 6 GB Monitor LG 34" 21:9 2560x1080 Windows 10 Pro Track IR , NO VR You can say it's an avarage gaming PC nowadays. and settings: https://scontent-mxp1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/62055437_10216796490338675_2504039489177911296_o.jpg?_nc_cat=110&_nc_ht=scontent-mxp1-1.xx&oh=9dce920c20e5c73b798a99713fd22e84&oe=5D88C726 DCS version OB 2.5.5 , so with video memory leak fixed. The mission is set in Caucasus , with a total of about 600 ground units , 100 aircrafts , 40 ships. The map looks like that: On the beginning of the mission , after click FLY , I get at least 60 sec of loading before actually having any response from the program. After that things starts. I get constant 10 FPS while ships fire missiles against other ships and an amount of probably 50 tanks shoots each other very far from my position ( BATUMI airport ). You can say it's a low intensity war at this point. Still more than 5 GB of video RAM is used . During pause you GPU is still used but CPU is working less. So , is the CPU the bottleneck? Probably! I can totally see why ED is trying to implement Vulkan API and multi-thread programming. You can basically sky rocket all the graphic and get very good results even with VR.   14. I've read the update log, thank you guys for including them officially! I'm working on some other missions that can become eventually a (DLC?) campaign... :D I've also commited my honeymoon to the cause... :lol:

  16. It has 256 points IIRC. Which means 0.5% circa per point. I also have curves in Throttle axis ( in DCS configuration , not in CH software ). Still hard to AAR.
  17. Quello è il development kit ... a meno che tu non scriva applicazioni 3D non ti serve. Qui ci dovrebbe essere la installazione dei soli driver con i runtime Vulkan https://developer.nvidia.com/vulkan-driver
  18. I have more problem with the throttle , low resolution means it's hard to find the perfect spot to maintain speed. While in Falcon 4 I have no problem at all in DCS it's almost a nightmare when AAR. For example , F14 it's very sensiive in the throttle management , motors are powerful , so finding the right speed is hard.
  19. Quel comando è buggato ma non so se sia questo il caso. Stai cercando di re-imbarcare una unità di fanteria? Se è così ho avuto lo stesso problema cercando di fare una missione per UH1.
  20. Su youtube trovi diversi esempi di titoli che hanno sperimentato Vulkan ( Doom in primis ). Immagino ci sia una installazione delle API da fare ( di solito è compresa nella installazione del gioco ) .
  21. I think I've swapped freq for Jester radio , Departure for Approach and viceversa. Enter the mission editor, go to the radio preset page for group Colt 1, change Channel 5 (DEPARTURE) should be 385.4 and Channel 6 (APPROACH) 291.725 . Anyway pilot radio is good , you can use that with same channels.
