  1. My copy of DCS (open beta) does not recognize your trk file at all.
  4. I think you've misunderstood Fenrir. If you try to squeeze more FoV onto the SAME piece of glass in front of you, you will get a different visual result. If you try to squeeze 180 degrees of the world into a 33" monitor that is 1m in front of your face, you are reducing 180 degrees into about 33 degrees. So you are shrinking everything down to fit it onto the monitor. Thats' why it's hard to see stuff, because we shrink it all down to fit it onto monitors. As soon as game FoV > Angle from your eyes to either side of your monitor, you are making stuff smaller (and harder to see) than real life. . .
  5. There remain significant inaccuracies, problems, bugs and issues with the Normandy map, despite some attempts to tidy it up int he past. A number pof these have been reported in this forum section for a long time and no-one from ED or Ugra appears to have responded to them. Is polishing this work completed? Is there any point in us looking for this product to be tidied up?
  6. another un-attended map bug/ issue....
  7. Yes, there are a number of rivers which go uphill on this map. It's been very poorly put together from a geographic perspective.
  8. runway 22 (ish) at Funtington has trees right on the threshold (let along the trees scattered all over that airfield on the normandy map . .
  9. I also report this bug
  10. I'm pretty confident that by 1944 changing convergences was a thing of the past. That was mostly something they did in France in 1940, the BoB and the early desert war. convergences were mostly standardized by 1943
  11. interview also contains some "wish list" type stuff for DCS WW2
  12. server stats for July have been finalised and archived. Ribbons have been awarded to the worthy recipients. Full Investiture list for July 2020 is provided on the forums at this link: https://stormofwar.net/forum/sowdcs/campaign-ribbons-for-july-2020/
  13. This might be related. See thread and attached miz/ trk files https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=282276
  14. The B17s (and presumably any other aircraft set to behave as a WW2 bomber formation) are unable to stay in formation/ maintain their flight plans once the lead bomber is damaged to the point where it departs the formation/ crashed/ crew bail out. The result is that the formations break up and individual aicraft or sub-groups will go into some kind of re-alignment process where they conduct aggressive maneuvers. This destroys the formation and can often result in collisions. I attached 2 miz files and corresponding trk files as evidence of this. The files are all zipped together in the attachment. They are as follows: WW2 formation test followers have waypoints.miz Bombers followers have wayponts.miz In this set, the "follow" groups all had waypoints in addition to the instruction to "follow" the lead bomber. When aircraft in the lead group were attacked, some of the following groups made aggressive course adjustments, but it was not too extreme. This was, however still a problem. Not only are the turns/ rolls too aggressive for such a heavy aircraft, but the formation still gets destroyed WW2 formation test followers without waypoints.miz Bombers followers without wayponts.trk In this example the effect seemed to be much worse. The bombers didn't really seem to know what to do when the lead a/c was destroyed. If the formation had been much larger there would almost certainly have been collisions. B17 formation problems.zip
  15. his thread has just become a wish-list dump . .. which already exists here: https://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=651
  16. BigNewy in my opinion this is NOT A BUG. The Bofors gun is on a trailer, with the gun facing backwards away from the tow vehicle. This means that in the ME, the gun is pointing the opposite way from the directional arrow. But this makes sense, because the bofors is a towed unit. Forwards, is towards the tow, not the gun. Here is an image showing the gun in the ME. Note that the Bofors is set to orientation towards the NORTH, towards the water. Now, in 3D mode, you can see the BOFORS GUN is pointing south. But the "front" of the unit is the tow, not the gun. The tow is pointed north, correctly. If we add a vehicle towing , it makes more sense.
  17. See here Hardnick for the most recent reporting/ discussion of this issue: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=275861
  18. Two things you can try: 1. Make sure the formation's speed is at LEAST 290 kph 2. Under the bombing instruction, there is a check box for "altitude above". Make sure the value in that check box is the same as the way-point altitude
  19. Another .trk file demonstrating the lack of AI response: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1P6HJ5_Z_TCljRgrxIdPeMywl3TyIvJhX/view?usp=sharing .
  20. This bug persists. Below is a link to a trk file which, when recorded, had AI which gave no reaction to the player flying over AA armed units https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Bkhz3-zY-061up1dgRzJwqWUs194RG1z/view?usp=sharing .
  21. I cannot confirm that this has been fixed. The AI still seems poor/ sleepy in any mission with a pre-0500 start time, if that mission runs on DCS dedi-server.
  22. It seems this might have been half-fixed. AA units and air units are working now, it seems. However, ships will still not fire at air units, apparently. I plan to confirm this with a .trk file sometime over the weekend.
  23. Online or in single player?
  24. I think it's still WiP. They added it without getting around to multiplayer implementation... at least that's how I see the situation. Seems quite common for stuff to work in SP, but not MP, and for it to take a long time for ED to synchronize the two. (trains, balloons etc...)
