  1. Beautiful!
  2. If someone wants to fly SP in “easy” mode, it has no bearing on me...so if they want to wish for an easier way of doing things, it doesn’t make a dark cloud over my head. Multiplayer is a different animal though...giving the option of doing things easy = unfair advantage, which does cause storm clouds in my humble little world of opinion. PS: I just want a Saturn V/Apollo rocket, with AIM-Xs and AMRAAMs in internal bays (you know...for stealth).
  3. LOL, I can see clearly now the fog has lifted! Thx
  4. Went to the website, put the Viggen in my shopping cart (yes, quite heavy) but price still showed $59.99...?
  5. Oh sure, now you’re talking all medical type stuff. Whatever happened to the güd olde days, when hyperbole and emotion was all that was needed?! :P
  6. I feel the need...the need för hastighet! “Hasty get”?! :megalol:
  7. Ever see the beach volleyball scene in Top Gun™? That’s how all of us look, we’re at the peak of fitness and all under 30 again! SERVICE!
  8. It’s all part of the experience...my simpit is a climb-over-the-left-control-panel-one-foot-on-the-seat-other-foot-to-the-floor-straddle-center-stick-and-drop-into-ACES-II....and don’t forget the 5-point harness! Worth each and every discomfort! I get up and yes I’m a bit sweaty but daaayyuuuum I feel like I just flew a mission! :pilotfly:
  9. There’s a saying in the concealed-carry community...”Concealed means concealed.” This means if you have something that may or may not be legal, don’t advertise it. LEOs and the gov’t do not have crystal balls and unless you tell someone—ANYONE—that you have something or are doing something, there is no chance of a SWAT team or DHS/KGB team coming to you. “3 can keep a secret if two are dead.” For educational or entertainment purposes only, YMMV PDQ
  10. Well done! I’d suggest it needs more stickers (patches?) “Warning Ejection Seat” etc. I saw a patch on EBay of a WW2 style bomb with a big red “F” on it (an “F bomb” LOL), that might work too... Seriously, looks great!
  11. Sure thing!
  12. I’d be willing and am able during 7pm-9pm PST most days (near Seattle). I have Simple Radio, but have not been able to hear anyone on it (i.e., I don’t really know how it works). I don’t know how to chat w/text either. SU-25/25T mainly, but I can takeoff, navigate, and land safely in the F-5 also. First few flights should be simple “hey let’s check out the big dam” flights, I’m not a super-aggressive “let’s kill everybody and let G-d sort ‘em out!” flyer.
  13. Do whatever makes you happy, as long as you’re not hurting others, it’s all good. I have a cheap Chinese “pilot’s helmet” which I rarely wear while doing DCS...but when I do it brings a smile to my face to be able to flip the visors up and down while barrel-rolling and/or strafing the infidels on the ground..! Yes, you can velcro TrIR led’s to the helmet, but you should also adjust the settings of its location to keep it fairly accurate. Audio can be done with a Bluetooth phone headset and a Bluetooth “dongle” on your computer. $300+ can be used for a lot of things, but only you can measure cost/benefits to your needs+wants.
  14. You can sort by file type (skin, mission, utility, etc), Unit (SU-27, A-10C, etc), and can narrow down "oldest to newest" by using "Age" (week, month, half year, etc). How would you describe the "gems"? What makes an afterburner mod "cool" is not the same thing(s) as a HOTAS layout...
  15. Classic Soviet WW2 era fighter...for some odd reason I'm fascinated with this stout little fighter. It will go well with old Russian music! And a tumbler of Vodka!

    I-16

What a cuuuute l’il stubby thing!
  17. I was told during an '80s Red Flag debriefing that "Whichever side had the EF-111, won." Modern jammers (including the EA-6B) are the electronic equivalent of a nuke...they are such a game-changer that to include it in DCS is to make fights too one-sided. In a real war, this is a good thing...but in a sim it really takes away the fun. imho I'm all for the A-6.
  18. I found it excellent for showing relative positions of the major cities...before, I’d used a print of the region but it was damn hard to read (big blue dots over the cities, font blending into the terrain, no bearing/distance info, etc) My eyes would glaze over trying to find any given city...heck, even the famous “X” airport that is used as a bombing range I didn’t know the name! In MP the briefing would say, ...take off from (city) and I’d think, “yeah yeah sure, I don’t know where that is!” Now I have a convenient 8x11 easy to read map, and *BOOM* I’m oriented to where the he k I am... Many thanks, Weegie! :)
  19. imho a map should be of an historic air combat area. 1. Pacific islands (1/3rd relatively close islands/atolls; 2/3rds being open ocean...definitely gotta include Iwo Jima, but there are many intense air battles throughout the Pacific Theater) 2. Mediterranean, from southern/mid-France to Jordan and nearby countries (such as Israel) and then back west across northern Africa (100 miles into the Sahara) 3. Germany and Switzerland as a southern edge, north to Norway/Sweden/Finland (Iceland? Many potential Cold War scenarios) I’d pay money for any/all of these. :)
  20. Here's the modified Skeleton Map. The font size was increased and symbology was added to show Russian, Georgian, and neutral airports. Please, if you know of any corrections to be made, feel free to let me know. :pilotfly:
  21. I’ve tried higher curve settings (25+) but really don’t like them. It feels like nothing is happening...nothing...nothi—WOAAH TOO MUCH! Smooth and steady, predictable. But “0” is way too sensitive. 15-20 is my usual curve numbers. Disclaimer: I’m still learning Formation 101.
  22. A while ago there was a thread about someone who developed a bare-bones map of the Caucasus theater, with only the major airfields and direction/distance between them. I saved the image and found the font was a bit small, so I edited it with bigger font and symbols showing ownership of the airfields. :book: I'd like to know who did the original "skeleton map" (I think that's what it was described as), and credit him with that. If I'm not able to find out, would it be ok to make my version a downloadable "user file"? I have searched the ED Forums using many different keywords, and the user file area, with no luck. Thanks!
  23. I have the CH Pro pedals, and while they are close they’re not especially difficult to use for a couple hours. I’ve learned to take my feet off the pedals during uneventful parts of a flight (which are more frequent than one might think). I’m 6’ and a bit on the large size of clothing. That being said, I have on a back burner in my mind a thought that it wouldn’t be too hard to fabricate side extensions for the pedals. A 2” wider “footprint” would be just wide enough to allow a rollerblade style support placed on the floor next to the main chassis.
  24. Trying to siphon gas from underneath? ;)
  25. I don’t have that object...maybe do a reload/repair?
