  1. I was watching a KC-135 landing (Persian Gulf map) with its landing lights on (daylight) and its shadow mostly stayed very large, like a blimp. It looks like the light beams from the landing lights (which I could see) was causing the shadow. It didn't stay on the whole time, it'd be a blimp for about 5-10 seconds, flicker to a proper shadow, then it'd pop back into a blimp shadow.
  2. Seen on a sign: “I wanted to make a chemistry pun, but all the good ones argon.”
  3. Beautiful day for a walk through the countryside....;)
  4. Me speaking German to a German Me: "Um...hast du.....der....ah, f*ck." German: "It's okay, friend. Learning a second language is difficult, but with enough practice and time you'll acquire the vernacular and colloquialisms to communicate in a concordant matter vis-a-vis other Germans. I myself still struggle with the endeavor of mastering the English language, ergo, I hope I have articulated myself in a proper manner." Me: ... Me: ... Me: "Fahrrad."
  5. I know people who would shoot at kids in a video game...in fact there's an entire game built around "How many 5 year olds to kill you" where you're supposed to kill them before they kill you (and they will, eventually...always increasing spawn numbers). And then there's dead baby jokes... It's a game. Pixels. Ions and electricity. Now if the NPCs ever achieve self-awareness, all bets are off. ;)
  6. Napalm! :)
  7. +1 Best camo EVER!
  8. The manual? Where is this manual?
  9. What a cute l’il plane!
  10. The LANTIRN control stick looks an awful lot like a left-handed flight control stick...which means they HAVE been made, and therefore could possibly be found for sale somewhere...
  11. It’s in the mirror. What’s left is right, what’s up is down. :D :P Anyway that’s how I think it’s supposed to work...Russian mirrors and all that...?
  12. The training film is usually shown as a kind of “orientation” display...”you’ll be here, and will see this and this and this...” Once you get on the apparatus with the rest of the crewmen and you run through the process a dozen times, it becomes more muscle memory than intellectual memory.
  13. Somewhat dated, but still quite interesting.
  14. I don’t see a problem...ROFL
  15. But...can it use the catapult? :D
  16. In the Vietnam era we still had many many WW2 bombs lying around, rolling loose in the warehouses. It was decided to use up those weapons as part of the festivities in-theater.
  17. Could be some form of heat shield, even though the horizontal stab doesn’t touch the AB nozzle, it looks close enough to absorb enough heat and weaken/distort the aluminiumunum inside. Your guess is as good as mine though...
  18. All I can say is, you are so very lucky to have such numbers of jets close by! I would’ve loved to have a similar graveyard of any mil jets so close! Please take many pictures and share, there are a LOT of people who would be excited and happy to see them! Especially modelers!
  19. Pretty cool video+module...North Korea still uses a ‘19 variant, so it’ll be interesting to see scenarios vs modern aircraft.
  20. I noticed the switch safety cover wasn’t wired into the Arduino... I remember seeing a cockpit (possibly here on DCS forums) where the owner had the switch cover connected by a wire (a small thin metal bar..?) so that when the red cover was opened or closed, a switch would be activated or de-activated, which opened/closed the in-game cover via the Arduino. (An A-10 cockpit, iirc) Just an idea if you’re interested.
  21. MiG-25 = proof that if one puts big enough engines on a steel brick, it’ll “fly.”
  22. +1 TiR
  23. I like the meme-death scene: freeze frame what killed you a split-second before death, a slow fade to black, and “YOU DIEDED” in grayish letters slowly fading in...
