Introducing DCS Simple Text To Speech (DCS-STTS)
t1mb0b replied to Ciribob's topic in Scripting Tips, Tricks & Issues
the greatness that is Ciribob continues, still in your debt over SRS ! Thankyou -
Quite a lot of your own time(and ours) wasted there. Just set the landing runway properly and as in real life, the airfield in question should turn on the appropriate navaids. Whats the point in switching on expensive ILS equipment on an unused runway? Report back, though i don't think anyone's really that bothered.

no change in 2.7 DCS 2.7 / F/A-18C Stability in Roll
t1mb0b replied to Scotflieger's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Yes but an out of trim aircraft, for example due to asymmetric stores, will induce yaw, which induces roll -
OMG, yes and why don't apples taste like pears, and while i'm at it, OP, it's 'brakes'. If you don't apply your brakes your hornet breaks.
-
you mean like VR: DCS.exe 2D: DCS.exe --force_disable_VR As for options for each environment, i think it's just ....Saved Games\DCS\Config\options.lua you need to copy in for each environment in your .bat file, worlds your oyster as they say. HTH

NS430 VoiceAttack profile by Jonsky, Standard or DC-BIOS
t1mb0b replied to jonsky7's topic in DCS: NS 430
this is a great concept, i'm having trouble getting started though. From VA all i get is 'Sound initialization timeout: internal:Sneak' 'Sound initialization timeout: internal:Pom' Recognized : 'nav power on' when saying 'nav power on' The pre-req mod is in place keyboard.lua is copied to saved games Do i actually need to take any action re 'LSHIFT + LCTRL + LALT + LWin' keybind ? EDIT: *resolved* 'NS430 keyboard.diff.lua' renamed to keyboard.diff.lua- 5 replies

Hornet gliding impossible due to flaps going to 100%.
t1mb0b replied to Rissala's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
it's not a glider, that is why it's got 2 powerful engines. -
Which runway to land on? Unless directed always land on Left
t1mb0b replied to DmitriKozlowsky's topic in DCS 2.9
To quote the OP "Luckily for us if departure runway is 21L, then recovery runway is 21L, the two are not same runway" 21L isn't 21L, interesting. Please correct or better still just delete your first post, the sentence above makes it's garbage. You are confusing newbie users. All anyone needs to know is that a runway is identified by the first two digits of the heading, 01 thru 36 If there are 2 or even 3 strips of concrete parallel, then from left to right, they are designated L C R. If you land by mistake on the wrong one in DCS there isn't going to be an inquiry, in RL it's different. -
a bit pedantic when, in the very next paragraph 'Our dream is to offer the most authentic and realistic simulation of military aircraft,' The clue is in the name Digital Combat Simulator
-
That's more counter-intuitive surely? You prefer pressing a keyboard key over speaking into a headset? I'm another VA + VAICOMpro convert, pressing a PTT button and just speaking to the AI is way more immersive than pressing a key/button which seems to me to be the 'spoiled brat' approach(your term). My term would be 'arcade' or 'lazy'

No I dont think that's the issue, i'm running the miz as MP locally on the same PC as the client, with all mission settings identical
-
I don't think ED can do anything about an issue between the user and the hardware:megalol:

F10 menu in MP Hello everyone, this one has me completely beaten; I play a particular MP mission which has an F10 menu structure. No matter what I do, it seems that if the mission is launched through the 'MULTIPLAYER' option in DCS, the 'import F10' does not work. However if I launch it as an SP mission through the 'MISSION' option in DCS, the 'import F10' works beautifully and I can natter away with excellent results. Among other things I have reset lua/keywords, made sure 'Import F10 Menu' and of course 'Use with Multiplayer' is selected, toggled them on/off, restarted etc. Does anyone with an in-depth knowledge of VAICOMPro have any ideas as to why this might be and what to try next? Thanks Tim

F16 Latching Taxi lights switch`
t1mb0b replied to cptmrcalm's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
you don't have to muck up anything though, in VA you can wrap it in an 'If F16' statement. If I understand correctly and you want VA to do one thing for one airframe and something different for another. afterthought: you might need the VAICOM Pro add-on to VA for the above to work(an essential addition imo) :) -
I think it's a case of yes to both your questions. As i understand the modelling that is used at present the bearing given is the reciprocal of the BRC, you will hold on the bearing FROM the carrier, turning outbound no closer than the range(DME) and the Angels given. Your heading to the carrier (hopefully timed so that you are on the inbound leg) will be the BRC. In real life I beleive the hold for a case III is normally offset from the BRC, maybe this modelling or option will come later to DCS. I'm sure someone will literally shoot me down in flames if I am out of line above

cant be bothered to read 15 pages, really! Grow some and practice until you can do it, or just select 'unlimited fuel', it's as simple as that - all you need is in the sim already.
-
The TCN beacon is often not aligned with the runway and the use of it solely as a navaid will guide you along radials to/from the physical location of it rather than the runway.
-
I made a Supercarrier video lol! Please add fixed camera points
t1mb0b replied to dho112's topic in DCS: Supercarrier
Good work ! -
you're surprised that trained pilots with hundreds or thousands of hours can refuel IRL, and you can't sit in your armchair and practice hand/eye coordination for a few hours and crack it?, i think you should be shopping for a games console not a sim. It's a simulator, why do you think it should be easy? Sorry to be negative but there's enough dumbing down of real life elsewhere on the market, probably cost you less as well.

Recording full 16:9 aspect ratio in VR
t1mb0b replied to pclipse's topic in DCS World Tutorial & Help Requests
fantastic, glad it helped someone -
Not everything in life is easy or handed to us on a plate, and quite rightly. Practice more, watch youtubes on it, or stop playing DCS. It's a SIM not a PlayStation game.

Recording full 16:9 aspect ratio in VR
t1mb0b replied to pclipse's topic in DCS World Tutorial & Help Requests
I think that's where I started yes run OBS as admin(very important!), v25.0.8 settings-output-recording output mode advanced recording format mp4 encoder NVIDIA NVENC H.264 (new) rate control VBR bitrate 100000kbps max bitrate 200000kbps preset quality profile high GPU 0 max b-frames 2 settings-video base (canvas) resolution 2560x1440 output 2560x1440 downscale filter bicubic(sharpened scaling, 16 samples) common fps value 60 you then set up your scene, add your source(game capture) mode capture specific window window DCS.exe test it out, there will be some frame cropping, you can position the captured output in the OBS frame to your liking. these setting work for me, your mileage may vary my PD is now at 1.0 for other reasons, no optimization mod, but I think the PD at the time of that clip I posted was up at around 1.4 oh and for recording, I have voice commands which I can start and stop the recording, you don't want to leave it recording for very long due to file size/disk space, keep clips short
