  1. Been known for a year.
  2. I thought the (is it new?) heat distortion was emanating from around the round's area of impact with the ground?
  3. Razbam actually did a nice job with their external lights for the KC-130. They can be seen from far away
  4. I'll have to check this out :)
  5. I find it odd that it was pointed out the update will be free. It's not adding new area, it's a whole lot of much much needed optimizing, of course it should be free!
  6. Righto! [emoji1303]
  7. I stumbled across some news, there were four mixture positions: Idle/cut off, auto lean, auto rich, and emergency full rich. Auto lean was used for cruising, and auto rich for intensive moments with high engine settings like taking off and climbing. Why does our Mustang have only 3?
  8. I've found some guys saying and showing pictures of the mixture control with four positions, idle/cut off, auto lean, auto rich, and emergency rich. We only have 3 positions in our Mustang, so I'm having a lot of questions. Thinking this might be another thing to tack on the list of issues?
  9. Can someone confirm if it not the mixture control is available as an axis or just button-controlled? I know it's OT, but I'd appreciate it.
  10. Odd. I actually haven't had many seizures at all, my last one maybe three months ago. And I climb like a bat out of hell, pushing 55" at 3000RPM at 175MPH or so. But I watch the engine gauge like a hawk, and typically open the oil door fully, and leave coolant in auto. Every time I either climb or get in a fight, even BnZ, I open the oil all the way, and it hasn't let me down for three months. [emoji1303] It's a good habit to get into, in the mean time, until cooling dynamics.
  11. *pulling out hair*
  12. Most of the photos I see of the Mustang actually have clean wings, but I can understand where you're coming from. The best thing right now is to load bombs/drop tanks and then simply drop them after spawning in or taking off. I'm assuming this is for something like a photo shoot?
  13. I have experienced point #1, though not for some time, as I've avoided WEP nearly at all costs because of it. I have experienced point #2, and it is quite irritating! It's actually a no from me, for point #3. Even just today, I overheated my engine (hit E accidentally, and continued to fly as if I hadn't) and had to limp the slowly dying engine back to Krymsk, barely scraping up 150MPH. Engine finally died when I cut to idle upon landing. While I haven't experienced #4 myself, I have heard many, many people not only confirm it, but also include that the fuselage tank does not seem to fill. I haven't tested any of this out for myself, however.
  14. Heh. Tbh I haven't locked up my engine (that wasn't caused by damage) in a real long time. Though just hours ago on Burning Skies, I typed half a sentence before I realized the chat was closed, and I had gone into WEP without noticing it until I started losing engine power from overheating, all temp gauges were topped out. While it didn't seize, I limped it back to Krymsk from red TA1, scraping up 150MPH in my shallow dive. Engine finally died when I cut to idle on the runway. [emoji51] The cooling dynamics will make overheating the Merlins different, for sure. It will be pretty interesting to see what ED comes up with for us.
  15. No, and that's not the point. The point is, if you've ever had your engine seize in the DCS Mustang, you'll notice that it doesn't matter how it seized, the temps will always top out the gauge.
  16. Not always. When prop striking, the temp will shoot up as well. I think it just happens when the engine seizes in general.
  17. I always open my doors manually. I usually leave the coolant door alone, but when I climb (and I mean 3,500-4,000ft/m climb) I have to fully open the oil door. Though, even in level flight, the door will not regulate temperature very well, and will sit past thr green area. It frustrates me that in auto, neither doors use their full range of motion.
  18. It updated just perfect. Thanks!
  19. Yeah, this is something out of the hands of texture artists. It looks like the Missing Texture is showing through on the inside of the frame there. I guess that's where you painted transparency. tl;dr, you can't paint transparency apparently, if it will reveal the Missing Texture underneath. [emoji848] This isn't anything too terrible though. Yes, it's annoying, and should be fixed (and will be apparently) but it doesn't impact visibility too bad.
  20. My number of air wins dropped by 1, and so did my number of dogfights. [emoji2371] I guess I'll keep pressing on, and see if it records it. It recorded an Anton kill from this morning, so I'll give it time and see if it tracks my progress well from here and on [emoji16] Thx for the update! I like that fighter ranking thing too [emoji6]
  21. Sounds like an alpha channel. Pictures would help, yes. [emoji16]
  22. I just jumped into the 190. NOW I see what you guys were talking about. “Bar” isn't nearly the best way to describe it, and will only confuse people. It is the bottom piece of the canopy frame surrounding the armored glass.
  23. I find the 109K4 more than competitive for its opposers right now, I don't see it fit for an upgrade. Back on topic though, we were speculating what plane will come after the A8. We already know the P-47 and F4U-1D by Leatherneck are on the way. I'm pretty curious to see how both ED's and LN's own versions of the R-2800 will compare, or maybe they'll share data. I think the Mosquito is going to be the next addition to DCS WWII. It looks the most complete, and because both the A8 and Mossie were announced either at the same time or within a close time frame of each other (can't recall). Honestly I'd never even heard of the Mosquito before ED mentioned it, which boggles my mind. I remember maybe 1.5 or 2 years ago, there was a poll on this forum for the first twin engined aircraft, and I was really...really hoping for a P-38, and it was winning for a while...and then the sun rose for Europe [emoji38] I do hope it will be multicrew. Two pairs of eyes are better than one, and flying with a friend guarantees a good time. I'd enjoy a 109G6 and a Spitfire V, like I mentioned above. I'd definitely go out and fight with those. A Typhoon would be good fun as well. Correct me, but wasn't the Ju-87 getting phased out on the western front by D-day? If not, I'd like to see those included as well. I'm thinking eventually, as WWII fleshes out more, servers will have to section off different times of WWII, between early war and late war.
  24. I'd imagine it allows air to pass through the engine compartment freely. With them closed, air flow is more restricted.
