Those fibs are golden.

It's funny how a little thing like Tail Numbers can make such a big difference to the community. It really is as Route says a very unique feature that's used with pride by squad members. Keeping track of who's who in close flying proximity and gives you the feeling the plane you're flying is yours. That being said, hopefully MAYBE perhaps this can be addressed? If not I'll be sad to see it go, but really can't stop drooling over SU-25's/25T's and Black Shark's being on the same battlefield with fighter cover ;)

HACK THE PLANET!!!! sorry quote from "hackers" ;) "MESS WITH THE BEST, DIE LIKE THE REST" <--- sorry another one. The villain from Hackers won an Oscar Sunday for the "Cove" so it's in my head ;).

Backlash as in people who refuse to purchase the game because of the DRM. I am in no way supporting piracy or do I condone "hacklash" because that just affects the honest players who bought the game. My problem lies in the DRM as a method of trying to control piracy. Most casual gamers know this won't stop it, so another less intrusive (to the purchaser) methods should have been addressed. Software is no the only thing being affected by piracy. Music, movies, clothing everything has a black market equivalent. I don't know if I fully trust Ubisoft's excuse on the matter. Perhaps it is the hackers, perhaps it their own fault. They're not going to admit they're wrong...no company can do that. Blame the pirates is an easy out. Hackers also creat mods that make games a thousand times better ...easy to forget that isn't it. Blaming the hackers is like people blaming heavy metal for a shooting spree in a school. It's a simple "answer" for a very complicated problem.

True that, plus the fact the A-10 has proven itself under these circumstances quite nicely. Everything so far with the F-35 is still theory.

The DRM was my main reason for not picking up this title. I was very curious as my naval curiosity feels it could be massaged bit, but my sim time is scarce these days and I can't be bothered to play on someone else schedule (in this case Ubi servers). I hope they resolve this issue for you guys quick. I'm looking forward to more of diveplanes screenies and vids. I really hope the backlash hits these guys where it hurts because IMHO it's a terrible step to take pc gaming.

This has some potential to kick ass. Love the first person aspect to it, when you're in the war, you're in it. That's great. That little tease about the little bird is cool to. I have no doubt your wait wouldn't be too long. There is a long line of rescue pilots who'd love the chance to come pick you up. :)

Smooth as butter here as well.

I agree...right now I just want F.C 2.0 and DCS A-10C sim info ;)...that's as far ahead as I can see. DCS X is a LONG way off yet.

Youtube really isn't the best means to judge video/audio sound quality. These vid's have been compressed to hell and back so it makes all the audio flat).

That's too bad, I was reading up on the Silent Hunter 5 forums and most people were screaming bloody murder. Most were on topic with what you're talking about Ali Fish. A few were saying having to walk through in the sub to give all your orders can be really annoying in the thick of it. No Compass? Really? That's really too bad, but I was considering this title, but looks like I'll wait. Thanks for the feedback Ali Fish. Someone made a good point on their forums. The way to keep piracy low is to include wonderful materials such as spiral bound detailed manuals or a hardcopy of a map of operations (Rise of flight did this) and a nice keyboard chart. I know this adds cost into the mix, but it seems with most "simulators" people are willing to pay a little extra for things like this. I'll go out on a limb and say I'd happily pay more money for a "simulator" simply because the hours of entertainment it will serve me. Most simmers will go out and buy a new rig just to run their $49 game...plus $300 hotas and $150 tracker IR. It's not like a new sim releases every 3 months.

Electronic Arts UK Community Forums have word from Barrie "Bazajaytee" Tingle that a server fix is inbound for a problem that can cause players to be immediately kicked after joining Battlefield: Bad Company 2 servers. Here's word: "For all the players connecting to servers and being kicked straight away (and pbsetup.exe or manual updating didn't help) then you will be happy to know we are sending out R4 servers to our hosting providers which will hopefully solve this issue. This is going out to the hosts shortly and then allowing time for them to update you should see connections going back to normal in the next few hours and continuing to spread to all servers during this evening." Source: www.combatsim.com Not sure if that applies, but I thought perhaps?

Is there a multiplayer option?

That first person bit would be cool to implement in a flight combat sim. Locker room, sleeping quarters, briefing room etc. Walking to and from the aircraft as well. Obviously that would take a lot of work, but I do agree it would have an interesting impact on the gameplay. Keep the details coming Ali ;)

So does "neutralized"..."enemy neutralized, ladies and gentlemen, objective completed" (S.A.I.N.T. NUMBER 5 SHORT CIRCUIT) ;)

Any sources or forums anywhere discussing the UH1 model? I can't seem to find anything and I'm reading a Vietnam pilots memoires now that have peaked my curiosity on this aircraft.

Saitek X52 Pro in G.I. JOE ?
element1108 replied to jerom1992's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Watching avatar I thought I saw the X52 pro, but I thought "no way, Cameron wouldn't use existing tech, he'd design it and build it himself. Sure enough no X52 Pro...custom made ;) -
Some of the objectives are almost impossible to complete in simulation mode simply because there's just too much the player needs to achieve. If you put limited ammo you're doomed to fail no doubt. Granted you can have 'unlimited" airframes per mission and the only real "mission fail" you'll get is if you run out of time on the time sensitive missions. One spitfire mission has the option to land and recover a downed pilot. I'm looking around in the cockpit and thinking to myself "there's barely enough room for me in here, where am I going to put this guy? hehe. I'm just being nit picky, it is fun and the graphics look great (and it runs SUPER smooth) but I like flying to and from my objectives (landings and takeoff's included) especially with how nice the graphics are. They update the game every 2 weeks it seems, I took 3 weeks from playing it and had 3 updates to catch up on, then another one a week later. Online is fun if you just want to hose some guys. I never see many "simulation" servers, but they're way more fun than the other types (other types have radar and icons on). It's fun visually identifying friend or foe and then having to keep an eye on him throughout the fight. Tracers are the best looking tracers I've seen in a game (besides black shark).

That happens every so often, but most games I play with the attackers move up. This one I swear had 5 guys sniping (we were attacking). I moved up to the far right building and took out half the other team with the 50 cal mounted on the window (they were all counter sniping) my team lost that round, only a handful of guys moving up. Curious to see the other maps.
