  1. In what way? I'm genuinely interested. Which headset do you have, and what's your in-game gamma setting?
  2. If you enjoy overexposure and washed-out colours, all the more power to you I don't. But you're right in that an ability to turn it off (using special options) is fine for those who'd want that. As long as it's enabled by default.
  3. It will probably come at a later date. ED has a history of shipping modules with only rudimentary (if at all) INS systems at time of EA launch.
  4. Heatblur goed above and beyond as usual. I wish ED would give us earlier variants of their planes too: F-16A Bl 15 and F/A-18A. Oh that would be something
  5. Because the RL helmet has it enabled for everybody, or you wouldn’t be able to see the symbology. And in DCS it fixed long-standing issues with lighting and colour-correction. If you’re having issues it’s best to make a separate bug report which includes the type of VR headset you use. For me on my Varjo Aero it works brilliantly!
  6. Those should be the same for all variants? I can have a look tomorrow, but up until right before the latest patch everything was just dandy
  7. Yup: Group Policy Editor has become my home away from home
  8. The Caucasus ramp start IA mission should do nicely (open it in the ME first and give yourself the classic helmet), as you’re already having all systems running with the visor down. Flip it up and down a few times, look around a bit, then exit and save a track. It will be nice and short, so easy for ED.
  9. Yes, I imagine not very many people will use the older helmet…
  10. Yes, we used to have for example a “aim-7m_heatblur” and a “aim-7m_ED that could perform vastly differently, even though it was technically the same weapon. There were all sorts of issues with it, so ED had to come up with a solution and decided to take care of all weapons themselves. It also makes them trust the source material more, as they themselves did the research.
  11. I still have to check out the new update, but up until last patch I found the map to only look good/ok above 5000m. In my opinion, there is still a lot of work to be done to make the forests look good: even the ones in the Caucasus map look better/more natural.
  12. I'd rather have biscuits, so I can have some fun with the crumbs when pushing negative Gs!
  13. Not any more. 3rd parties can send a request to ED for a particular weapon to be included with their module, but in the end it's up to ED to make it available within the DCS framework.
  14. Oh, which headset do you use? You seem to have a much higher vertical FoV than I do, as I don't see that at all:
  15. I'm not I did Yes that's fine: IRL there apparently were clear visors for the JHMC too. But the default pilot model is using the dark one. How so? And which gamma are you using? For me, it is nauseating to *not* have it in VR, if you're using the default gamma 2.2.
  16. This is correct-as-is based on the type of helmet used, and if you switch to external view with the visor in the UP-position you can clearly see that. I for one am happy we have a working visor in the normal helmet too, for those of us who like our '80s/'90s scenarios
  17. Yes, me too: I had hoped for AIM-9D and -G to be included in Early -A.
  18. Looks like ED has been doing some work in the background then on the localisation/cockpit language options, that wasn't quite ready to be merged into the public build...
  19. Oh, what a surprise... Some people love drama, eh?
  20. Download speeds were fine on my end. Did you also try to clear the DNS cache? That could help
  21. Yes the current implementation is brilliant, just like in the Mirage F1 and new MiG-29, unlike the (better than nothing but fake) effects other modules with visors use (Mirage 2000, F-15E, MiG-21, OH-58). It’s what the community has been asking for for the last 7 years
  22. To not show the borders? You mean when it’s flipped up? I’m pretty sure that IRL you’d see the borders too, looking at what it looks like in external view.
  23. It's on the first page: But a lot has been said, and it's difficult to keep track of everything. We're all trying to help, after all.
  24. Since his wife's system is Intel based, and his AMD-based, that's doubtful
