  1. Be that as it may, the better our MiG-29's FM reflects the real bird, quirks and oddities included, the more I like it It's quite possible that this specific roll tendency is something that's actually not present in the real aircraft and will be addressed in a future FM update - but if it is, we'll learn to deal with it
  2. Thanks for ninja fixing the MiG-29's visor. Now this functionality is ready to be ported over to other ED modules!
  3. In this thread, yes. On the forum in general: no I’ll clarify: when people post anywhere, and others can see a high counter of “community answers” underneath their name, that indicates that person is either helpful, knowledgeable, or both. Look at it as a ‘reputation’ system, that’s visible to everyone regardless of where on these forums they post something
  4. That’s because there’s a dedicated subforum for controller issues/questions:
  5. Oh, I enabled the mod again after the patch out of habit. I’ll check it out in a moment!
  6. If you're talking about the actual purpose of, yes it is. More so, DCS is intended to be a digital museum - that's coming straight out of the horse's mouth. People can use it for Team Deathmatch and free-for-all, and that is their right. No, only a minority, and probably even a small minority since there's also the mil-sim community with their own squadrons that only fly on their own server. But those people don't make clickbait youtube videos so they'll get much less exposure from the general public.
  7. I doubt there's any demand for such an abomination
  8. I have also experienced this, but only after I forgot to turn on pitot heat. I’ll see if I can see it again with it turned on.
  9. Yup, 5-star request right there I have no use for this either, but it is indeed the best system for regular spring loaded setups!
  10. You can thank him by marking his post as solution, instead of yours. Since he actually provided the solution
  11. I was making a joke We definitely need an advanced ATC system: no argument there. There are plenty of threads about it, and ED has reported development is in an advanced stage already since they asked publicly for voice actors and SMEs. Why would it be difficult? ED has been working on it for a while now.
  12. 'Automated' seems like a very bad idea. Automated to me, means you don't need to do anything yourself. Imagine every control tower on the map calling out to you: "Hey, do you want to land here?" "No, land HERE" "But I was first! They need to land HERE!" At a minimum, you'd need to contact ATC yourself: check in, declare intentions (touch-and-go, full stop landing, re-arm & refuel, emergency landing, ...). Other than that, yes ATC should guide you to line-up to the runway in IFR conditions, deconflict, tell you which taxiways to use and which parking spot, etc etc.
  13. No, there isn’t. This is on ED to fix. In the meantime you can use this mod:
  14. Works brilliantly for me: thank you very much! This is how it should be as default, so let's hope ED fixes it soon
  15. Btw, it works the same as in other RU modules such as Mi-24
  16. @BIGNEWY Is it possible to implement a simplified version of this logic for AI MiG-29s? This would go a long way to make single player feel more alive and variable instead of just fighting a slightly different version of Generic Opponent with slightly different FM characteristics.
  17. Hmm there might be an issue with all FFB sticks after all: today after my flight I had issues with my right engine so I decided to do a full shutdown and restart. After I got both engines back up and running, the AFCS test kept failing too: the stick was stuck in the forward left position with all lights blinking. Following the "AFCS test fail" procedure as detailed in the cold start training mission, didn't help...
  18. The new Special Options, when left at their default values, work the way they always have so I haven't touched them. So my personal feedback is: it works as it always worked as nothing was changed that has any influence on my setup. The people who those Special Options are for, are those who use a normal springloaded joystick for flying F-16. RealSimulator has YouTube videos explaining all of the settings in their software.
  19. 10cm 100 0 But it depends 100% on your own setup and your own preferences. Use whatever works for you
  20. Alrighty then. Would *I* love such a feature? Yes! Would *I* treat such a feature as more than a gimmick? Yes! One of the drawbacks of the way we enter the cockpit now after clicking “Fly” on the briefing screen, is that you have no idea where are are parked in relation to the active runway. Sure, you can open the F10 map and find out that way, but with all the issues that has (overexposure upon re-entering the cockpit, VRAM usage) I’d rather not do that unless I *really* have to. Perhaps this walk around will help in that regard

  22. You're missing out. The latest Iraq update is pretty good, and Germany makes you tear up the first time you take out a helicopter there. I hope you get a new system soon!
  23. To be honest I don't remember. The one that I ended up most happy with and lasted the longest was some Logitech joystick, with throttle slider, joystick with twist axis integrated: Extreme 3D Pro or something.
