Cheers! I'm sat swearing at ME right now.

No instant actions either if you're a Hornet driver - pretty poor show ED.

3B Viking model and the improved physics model for AAR
DowntownSIX replied to AG-51_Razor's topic in Wish List
I do remember Wags mentioned new basket and drogue physics in a mini-update before the F/A-18C hit EA but I can't find it now though so if they've quietly erased the mention of it we probably won't see it soon/ever. -
Awesome piece of kit but Virpil took a minute to ship and by the time it arrived I had sorted something else. Absolutely brand new, comes in all the original packaging so skip the waiting time and save a bit of money. Costs 215EU shipped new, looking for £175. Edit : The images seem to have uploaded in random orientations, sorry about that.

Ive had my Warthog a few years but I'm not a heavy user - working fully, comes with the gimbal and base. The gimbal suffers from the stiction issue most Warthog's see once in their life. I followed a guide, pulled the gimbal to bits, sanded the plastic injection marks using 1500 grit sandpaper and lubricated everything with Molykote EM-30L but it hasn't made much of a difference. I'm sure someone smarter than me can get it running factory smooth again. A screw went to Narnia while I was reassembling the gimbal (pictured), there are 7 others holding everything together so it doesn't seem to be an issue. Nice, I've been looking forward to this and getting my arms and legs back in VR.

Thanks for posting it here. -
This has been my (anecdotal) experience. There's so little difference I don't bother 99.99% of the time.

F/A-18C EF campaign was a blast, downloading this now. -
Screen divided into four quadrants over water
DowntownSIX replied to Mortisrose's topic in 2D Video Bugs
This happens to me in PG with VR except I see two halves split horizontally with the top half appearing darker. I figured it was a hardware issue but I've recently changed from a Rift CV1 to Rift S and the issue is still there. I get the feeling this is just going to sit in here for years without acknowledgement. -
Yep, big "pauses" here in VR too and generally poor performance versus the previous patch. Same as the poster above, clean install of Nvidia drivers and FXO and Metashaders deleted. No effect.

Cockpit readability in VR? Planned improvements?
DowntownSIX replied to Nealius's topic in AV-8B N/A
M2000-C is the worst, the radar is fine but switch labels are impossible. I can't even find them, let along make them out. F/A-18C cockpit readability is very high but the green writing on the MFDs, especially with the HSI on the AMPCD is awful without VR zoom. SA342 analogue dials are not too bad but labels are difficult and the interior lighting is useless so it's not much fun. It'll differ from headset to headset (the switch from OLED in the Rift to LED in the Rift S made a huge difference in cockpit readability) and from eyeball to eyeball but I'm happy with the Harrier in VR with the exception of the warning panel, that's pretty tough to read, even with the brightness cranked. Anyway, sorry to hijack. I don't think VR readability is top of the list with this stuff, rightly or wrongly I think the priority is to make a faithful creation of the pit. To make it accessible to EVERYONE in VR we might meed something that looks like those mobile phones for people with eyesight problems - super high contrast with 8,500 font size. Your best bet is a texture mod and if you're a multiplayer guy, those are generally IC friendly. -
Cockpit readability in VR? Planned improvements?
DowntownSIX replied to Nealius's topic in AV-8B N/A
Just to throw my hat in the ring - I use a Rift S (PD 1.3 and Gamma 1.8) and have no issues with the Harrier. It's one of the better VR cockpits in my opinion. I think MFD-wise, things will be better when (if?) we get brightness, contrasts and symbology controls. -
[FIXED] Full rocket salvo == death?
DowntownSIX replied to Viking_355th's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yup, same here in the Open Beta. -
You think? I thought they render distance dropped off significantly since the previous update and from at a medium distance there is a noticeable pattern to the trees now resulting in neat rows of them. I haven't flown anything low yet so maybe the crappy trees are gone, I shall be a happy bunny if they are.

Doesn't RadAlt only sound off once as you descend through the threshold altitude you've set though?

Interesting - I used the NVG in the Mirage last night for the first time and thought it was dialed in pretty well without gain control (which I couldn't find binds for). The adjustable gain is good from a utility standpoint (a bit too good) but I've never seen or used manually adjustable NVG in real life so this feels quite authentic. If it works, good job Razbam, I can finally stop playing with the gain control during night flights.

Is this a new bug? I haven't dropped any GBUs from the Harrier this patch but I'm sure I've successfully laser designated targets from far higher in previous ones.

This would be a really nice quality of life upgrade for the KA-50 refresh, right now I have my saturation so low that slewing at 7x is painfully slow but at 23x it's WAY too fast.
