  1. Yep, that's what I meant. I know the key bind, it's just not all modules have a pilot model yet. Thanks to all for the replies!
  2. Agreed, I bought the Spit yesterday and it's disappointing to see this has been around since June.
  3. A-10C and Baltic - take my money.
  4. Perfect mate, I really appreciate the reply. I'll grab the Spitfire and learn the ropes in Caucasus and maybe pick up Normandy and the Asset Pack down the line.
  5. I've got a bit of a WWII itch and being a Brit the Spitfire is the obvious choice. There are a few options out there to scratch said itch but I'm invested in the DCS "ecosystem" and it remains my first choice. That said, jumping into anything in DCS is expensive so I'd like to get some opinions before making the leap. Content Content is a bit thin on the ground in general for DCS - to get the most from the Spitfire do I need Normandy and the WWII Assets Pack or can I enjoy it on Caucasus/Nevada/Persian Gulf? Multiplayer It seems the introduction of the Persian Gulf map has divided the online community even further; I've been checking Burning Skies the past few days and the player count is never above single digits - is MP off the table for war birds now? Cockpit Pilot Model Does it have one? I've tried the search function and a manual search of this sub forum and found no mention - I'm sure there is but its a real deal breaker for me in VR. Cheers!
  6. Interesting, so did all the buyers of the AV-8B fund the LHA-1 then? Sort of feels like that.
  7. Didn't they confirm it for 2017 too though?
  8. You've got me there, I can't find a thread. I wonder if Wags said it on a stream or something...I really hope I didn't make it up.
  9. This might be naive of me but a pilot body is a basic feature I expect from every module. The A-10C gets a pass because it's about 100 years old and ED are adding one with the cockpit refresh. Any word on this? It's a pretty shitty experience flying bodyless in VR.
  10. I hope they're planning a steam train or a row boat, we're definitely due another Christen Eagle II meltdown.
  11. I have it bound to a 4-way hat on my HOTAS but honestly, the radar is useless. I never use it. It lights me up like a Christmas tree on RWR, I can't pick up anything on it unless it's < 15 miles and if I do I have no IFF so I have to get close enough to make a visual ID anyway. I have a much better time with the MK1 eyeball and AWACS.
  12. The 'softness' of NTTR at altitude always bothered me, it's less prevalent in PG but I'll definitely be giving this a try. As always Mustang, my eye balls thank you for the hard work.
  13. Love your stuff, grabbing this now and I'll give it a try over the weekend. Cheers.
  14. Nice, appreciate it.
  15. Sir, you have been eating too many American flags. Us buffoons in "much of the rest of the world" absolutely have Air Traffic Control authorities and do not routinely contract those services out to the U.S. Who told you that?
  16. Thanks for this!
  17. This. It'll make sense in 2 - 5 years but not yet, not for DCS.
  18. I'm pretty sure it's in and working, I just can't figure it out to save my life. As a work around I pinched the carrier take off instant action, changed all the Lot 20 F/A-18Cs our for the old model, got rid of my flight and moved myself to the ramp...works great and no FPS loss from the crazy polygon count of the Lot 20 model. Hopefully someone smarter than me can let us know how it's actually done, I can't find anything in the mission editor. EDIT - I cracked it, you link static objects to a unit as before but their X,Y location on deck is relative to each other. If you open the carrier take off instant action you'll see what I mean. Start this mission and look at the carrier deck from a birds eye view, then jump back to the mission editor and you'll see the static objects appear in the same pattern. The only issue is there is no frame of reference as to where the deck stops so there is an element of trial and error. Still, it's a step forward. I appreciate the above explanation is sh*t, happy to clarify if you need it.
  19. Yep, same. The position isn't quite right in the F/A-18C but it takes less than 30 seconds to adjust using this method.
  20. Just to note, the performance of those instant start missions will be affected by a known issue where the F/A-18C Lot 20 static object. In OB they cause a huge FPS hit which isn't present in the internal build. I was going to lend a hand (I have a 1080Ti and CV1) but it looks like you already have some takers, which is great to see. I tip my hat.
  21. I didn't report this because I was 99% sure I was tripping balls.
  22. Thank god I'm not the only one; the instant action carrier take off is awful for me in VR. No hard numbers but well below 45fps (build in signature). Settings wise, I'm at 1.5PD, No MSAA, flat shadows and medium/High settings everywhere else.
  23. You have more will power than I do.
  24. Judging by Wag's comments a few months back about adding AAR to the pre-release video series, if it's not in there for release it won't be long before we see it. Fingers crossed it's in for release. If there's one thing I need, it's more difficult AAR. ;)
  25. I'm the same, the rain effects are really tough to see in VR (PD 1.5).
