  1. I didn't realise we were getting new hose and basket physics - incredible news.
  2. Oh baby, this is an instant buy for me. The bundled Mirage campaign was super immersive.
  3. +1 but I wouldn't hold your breath.
  4. Oh man, it's late here and now I have to get all my stuff out and fly my Harrier.
  5. Real nice, you earned that like.
  6. The autostart option is probably taken from the server so unless the server you're playing on supports autostart you're out of luck.
  7. +1, it would be nice to mix things up a little.
  8. Very nice, thanks for the update and candid responses re: ATC.
  9. I think the updates will start flowing again once we have are on 2.5 release.
  10. I tried this tonight, deferred shading is brilliant for terrain but cockpits look FAR better without it at the moment. Is there a list of modules that are ready for deferred shading? Does this apply only to Eagle Dynamics modules or are 3rd parties obligated to update their modules to the same standard?
  11. The Harrier dropped on Steam pretty quick so Wags may not necessarily mean you'll need to wait for F/A-18C 1.0 to get your hands on it.
  12. I'm in the same position as the OP. It doesn't sound like there is too much missing, which is good. My only concern is how long it'll be before we see any of this stuff. I'm keeping an eye on this sub-forum to see what's coming with each patch to get a feel for how long the Harrier is going to take to complete before pulling the trigger.
  13. That's much more encouraging, cheers.
  14. Another one here. Question - what's the deal with the bug section? Right now, it seems like a place where we share a thing we think is a bug and the community generally make a valiant attempt to get to the bottom of it. Where are the devs? Is this considered and official channel to raise bugs?
  15. Nice. I am using a mini white board attached to my rig with velcro but it's just not cutting it, this looks like it'll work nicely.
  16. Right, I had a bit more of a structured look at this tonight and a couple of things are happening. 1. In F1 view, there is a portion of the exterior model that is completely static. If you change your livery, that portion of the model remains the default livery for the loaded mission. 2. As you can see in the first video, even using the default livery the same portion of the exterior model is distinct from the rest of the model. On a hunch I tested this with Deferred Shading off and noticed that the static portion blended much more successfully with the rest of the model. 3. I tested this in VR and on a monitor, results were the same, it's just easier to test and see in VR. 4. I trawled YouTube for an embarrassing amount of time and could see this effect in other peoples videos in a mixture of TrackIR and VR. 5. I checked my other modules to see if this is just one of those DCS things I haven't noticed, and no other module exhibits this behaviour. 6. External views work fine, this is limited to the cockpit view. TL : DR - You can't change your skin in single player or multiplayer because it'll only change some of it and even if you stick to the default skin, if deferred shading is on you'll still have to stare at a big chunk of mismatching livery on your nose. It's not brilliant.
  17. Interesting, that gives me something to roll with for further testing. Thanks for the info.
  18. I reported this before (in the wrong place) and got no answer. I also had a good search but couldn't find anything. Since first reporting the issue I've done a clean install of 2.5 and I still experience the same thing. I grabbed these by 'stepping outside my cockpit' in Oculus. It looks like there is an area around the pit where a default skin is applied. I haven't done any structured testing but as far have some anecdotal observations: - It's present in all liveries - It happens in SP and MP - The livery appears correct in all external views - The same 'default' skin is applied in all cases My only thoughts now are; is it a VR thing and is it just me? Apologies if this has already been reported and I just couldn't find it.
  19. I suffer from low FPS too. It's definitely a CPU bottleneck, no amount of changes to graphics or VR settings yields any improvement. It's fine once you're airborne but getting there from cold start is brutal at 22fps. I love the F-5E and I'm keen to get stuck into this campaign but I just can't push through the brain melting slide show at the start of every mission.
  20. Agreed, but that's all consistent with the air frame. Probably because of the reasons you state above. What you're describing is not an F5-E, it's something else. Regarding #5 - So your line in the sand is that the realism of the AI flight model is an issue but the creation and use of a fictional aircraft is OK? The only realistic aircraft with some speed? Mirage? Harrier? Didn't you just say the F-5E has no power? Again, you're looking for combat capability, not an accurate simulation of an F-5E. I have the Mirage, and I have the FA-18C pre-ordered and the F-5E gets, and will continue to get, plenty of flight time precisely because it's a different experience from a 4th gen fighter.
  21. I have (and love) the Mirage but my gut is telling me he won't get much seat time once the FA-18C hits, and you already have that. I haven't spent too much time in the Viggen but it's a top quality module and a bit different from everything else available. HeatBlur are adding the bundled campaigns shortly so that's another tick in the box.
  22. I wouldn't worry, it's quality module, you might just be 100 years old when you get all of it.
  23. Big improvement in VR, thanks.
  24. FYI - I've been troubleshooting VR stutter too and one of the contributors was MSI Afterburner polling my GPU/CPU for stats, so turn that off.
  25. This. There's been some funky weirdness from ED with the long pre-purchase period for the FA-18C and the sudden shift of language from Heatblur. Personally speaking, I would've passed on the FA-18C for the F-14 if they released back to back so ED and HB just have their business hats on. They're both flagship products so it makes sense to give them breathing room from each other.
