  1. While we're making changes, I'd like my pilot to be Scottish and bi-curious.
  2. Trimming takes a bit of practice and at the risk of teaching you how to suck eggs, use trim to get a sensible climb or descent rate and use throttle to tidy up the rough edges to achieve level flight. Have you tried adding a little dead zone and curve to your stick and rudder axis? This should help with formation difficulties; with a bit of speed the F-5 becomes super twitchy, the axis curve should help you keep it smooth.
  3. This is a pain in the arse, I can refresh the server list 5 times and get 5 completely different lists of servers. Is it a DCS or client side issue?
  4. Another thumbs up here, works brilliantly. No installs either for those concerned about security.
  5. I'll check it out, thanks for sharing.
  6. Awesome, thanks.
  7. Pretty sure that's just pyrotechnics.
  8. Excellent news and thank you for the effort.
  9. I'm sure bumping your own thread is a no no but is this being looked at at all?
  10. Use one of the existing axis in a shift state?
  11. That's a bit disingenuous given we don't hear about the CC in newsletters or anywhere else for that matter. Unless you've followed the regression of this module over the past few years I think you can be forgiven for having no idea what's happening with it.
  12. Unexpected - thank you very much!
  13. I have the ACM campaign and I'm not a fan - it's authentic enough but essentially you navigate to the same spot using TACAN radials then engage in the same fight with different aircraft over and over, it all seems very copy/paste to me. On top of that, the performance is sh*t; 22fps at Nellis no matter what the settings which, in VR, makes your eyeballs melt. Based on the other posts, it seems popular, maybe I just don't get it.
  14. Mine arrived last week (Order 1254), fitting took all of 5 minutes and while I haven't fired up DCS yet the quality is miles ahead of the stock slew. For anyone fitting this for the first time, you MUST use the Deltasim calibration tool otherwise the slew axis won't behave.
  15. Have to agree, progress seems to be moving backwards with each update. We were "a few weeks away" years ago, now "only some systems work". I'm sure what we get will be of good quality but to say there is no news 4 years after release is embarrassing.
  16. +1 here, I was a bit of a fan of this bug.
  17. The prices are understandably creeping up but for me, we're now in the territory where it's high enough that I won't auto-throw money at modules. I think there should be a greater incentive to buy modules during EA rather than just pre-purchase since we effectively fund the completion of the module and the start of the next one in many cases.

  19. Jump on the cold war server, that usually descends into a Mig-21 vs F-5 airquake. It's a punishing way to learn but you'll learn a lot, very fast. Like Axelerator said - the AI physics model is simplified and it's not really a fair fight. In terms of actual tips: - The Mig is good at speed but get him into a slow turn fight and he'll have to extend or fall out of the sky. - Never follow a Mig vertical, they have enormous power to weight. - Switching to manual flap control and 0 degree flaps can buy you a bit of energy at the expense of lift if you get caught out. - Stay away from applying pitch and roll simultaneously in a fight, it'll bleed energy REALLY fast. You can use a bit of rudder to induce roll while pitching if you need to. Some random tips. A good thing might be to record a few dogfights of yours and post them here for critique. There are some seriously good dogfighters around here.
  20. It's possible - on the drop down menu at the top left in controls you're looking for "UI Layer", there is a zoom function in there that works in VR.
  21. Looking forward to this myself! This and the weird afterburner sound loop and I'll be a happy bunny, the rest of the module is very high quality.
  22. That's not really how it works; 90fps is 90fps rendered in both eyes. I'm now sure what VR headset you're using but if you are using Oculus the capped frame rate is managed by Asynchronous Space Warp (ASW) which, if you are unable to render 90fps, will cap fps to 45 and insert composite frames to create the illusion of a higher frame rate. If you're on Oculus, turn ASW off and you'll let FPS run free between 45 and 90. Doing so will remove any of the artifacting introduced by ASW but you'll see some ghosting. The jury is sort of out on which one is better, seems like personal preference. Another note - SteamVR is awful, don't use it if you can avoid it and definitely don't use SteamVRs super sampling in addition to the pixel density you can set within DCS.
