WW2 scenarios with spawnable missions?
ZeroReady replied to epoch's topic in User Created Missions General
Have you tried briefing room? -
Yes! All aircraft, all timeframes, all coalitions, all maps! It's really great. You can customize everything.

As far as I know, I could be wrong, but WP increment Long is only to send target info to a JDAM. Maybe. Who knows?

Operation Scarlet Dawn not saving persistency
ZeroReady replied to ZeroReady's topic in User Created Missions General
That's frustrating, I'm sorry I don't know what else to check. It's possible it's something random in 2.7 that broke a script somewhere. Still working fine for me though. Have you tried just running Scarlet Dawn unmodified and just see if the lua's get written that way? -
Have a look at Briefing Room. https://akaagar.itch.io/briefing-room-for-dcs?download It's a simple to use yet powerful mission generator for DCS. You fill in the options you want and it spits out a mission file, ready to fly. Supports all maps and aircraft. I love it.

Are you running DCS 2.7? DCE probably doesn't work with the newest OB.

The tgp will always slew to the selected waypoint (steerpoint) by default. Steerpoint is always SPI in the F-16, they aren't separate like in the A10. Once you manually slew the TGP as SOI, then you are effectively slewing the SPI and in addition the selected steerpoint around. If you wish to return to the programmed steerpoint, you must command a cursor zero, CZ on the TGP screen. As you slew the TGP around, you are offsetting your SPI and hence the currently selected steerpoint. This offset doesn't go away until you hit Cursor Zero.

Yeah I still need to do the increment decrement bind to something. I have the 6 top buttons as 1-6 on top of the keyboard, just so they're closer to my throttle hand.
-
Not that I know of. The data cartridge would essentially be the mission editor, that's where you would pre fill the waypoints. But I have found that by binding the dobber switch to w a s and d, and the UFC number buttons the numpad, data entry in the Viper can be surprising fast, as opposed to clicking on the buttons.

Operation Scarlet Dawn not saving persistency
ZeroReady replied to ZeroReady's topic in User Created Missions General
I've tried it in singleplayer and multi. I host the server on the same machine that I run DCS on. DCE and Liberation both work just fine. I'm just commenting out in the mission scripting.lua in my local DCS directory. Can you tell me where the two lua files are created that save persistency? -
I have sanitized the mission scripting.lua by commenting out the appropriate lines, just like do for DCE campaigns. Scarlet Dawn, Snowfox, Clear Field etc are all supposed to create two new lua files in the main DCS directory to keep track of destroyed units and statics, captured bases etc. But I can never find those files for any of these missions. Every time I start it says up at the top that 0 units have been removed, even when I destroy multiple sam sites and planes. Does anyone have these missions working? For some reason Big Newey locked all of their corresponding forums and the author Surrexen doesn't seem to be active anymore. Thank you!

My TACAN needle was pointing 50 degrees to the right of where the tanker was yesterday, the distance was accurate though. Not sure what's going on with it, I'll try it again today in a different mission.
-
No problem. Not sure I have a mini stick on my throttle I use, you would have to check in the keybinds. But it should be the same as always for keyboard.

AG TARGET UNDESIGNATE will put the tpod in snowplow mode. A second press will undesignate the last target.

Cool thank you, made the changes and I will try them both today. However for the Tomcat over PG mission in Init/camp_triggers_init.lua, my entry is ["TF-71 Patrol ATest Sea"] not ["TF-71 Patrol Gulf of Oman"]. So I changed the 12 to 10 there.

I'm sorry, I can't find cong_init. I looked in conf_mod.lua and didn't see anything about rescue helos.

No No No. I never really see anything less than 50FPS, mostly 60-100.

Having a problem with Crisis in PG Harrier. On the 3rd mission, the rescue helo spawns on my jet and damages us both. Also in Tomcat over PG Supercarrier. My plane and another spawn too close together and get damaged.

The laser in DCS only reaches out to 8 miles, so there will still be limitations.
-
Well I don't know what went wrong then, it seemed all of those requirements were met. I'll have to try it again. Thank you!
