In that case, oops.

Sounds like a win:thumbup:

That really isn't the point. Yes they can take out light and medium armor. Yes they can overwhelm active defenses. Yes a single lucky hit could kill an MBT. It just doesn't make sense though that a weapon of this size could reliably one hit kill a modern MBT whether its American, Russian, German, Chinese, or Israeli. And no one is doubting the performance of the SD-10 either, just that the Aim-120 is known to under perform. Other missiles were as well to the same degree but now we will have one accurate missile in a sea of inaccurate ones. In any case can we agree to disagree and move past this argument and just be hyped about what looks like will be an awesome module?

Thanks, I missed that. And interesting that he says flight engineer. The proper term would probably be crew chief.
-
His little twitch profile says he flew pavehawks in the airforce. Whether thats true or not?
-
Isn't worht dealing with twitch BS. Would be nice to get it on youtube.
-
I read his comment as sarcasm but I don't know for sure.

I don't doubt that they are armor penetrating but doesn't it sound a bit much to one hit kill an abrams with one? A salvo of a few of them or one to a specific spot ok but it does strain credibility to think it could penetrate the frontal armor. Then again I do not know as I have no first hand knowledge of the weapon system. Based on what the development team knows Loop8back, is this really accurate? Thats an honest and not a sarcastic or rude question.

They're committed to finishing the C-101 first. Luckily that module has been progressing rapidly.

Anyone else notice all the hype for the Aviodev Mirage F-1 in Razbams discord? Definitely alot of people excited for this one.

whatever bro

Ok, let take how well or not well ED is doing out of the equation. Right now they get a major influx of money when they release a module. Then they have diminishing sales that trickle off over time. As the total number of units they are going to sell decreases because they have already been sold they get less return per man hour spent on a module. On the other hand if I can cancel my subscription if a module isn't completed to my liking in a timely manner they have a financial reason to finish modules and keep them up to date. The downside to that is if a module isn't popular it will get abandoned even if it happens to be my favorite module.

I remembered reading about a couple planes going in the water when the Kuznetsov went to Syria but upon looking it up it was from failed arresting wires. A few Chinese J-15s have dropped off the front though because they didn't reverse engineer the engines well enough.

Thanks for the heads up on the situation jabbers!

I've given away 3 c-101's, 3 flaming cliffs, 2 yak-52s, 2 F-5's, and 2 L-39's. But I still think a subsccription service would provide more incentive and ability to upgrade DCS versus our glut of EA modules.

So....how's the QA process coming along? Can't wait :)

Im guessing its going to be the Christmas release. -
Glad you're enjoying it! Just wanted to say though this sim is mostly made in Russia by Russians. It's a very international community here so we try to keep our respective domestic politics out of things. Many real world battles are possible here that are still painful for some. For example the Falklands War will be simulated in the future and there are survivors from both sides of it in our community. That being said as an American veteran myself I appreciate the sentiment, we just do our best to leave nationalism out of it here. Welcome to the community and have fun!

Since when did anyone say the A-6 was off the table. Heatblur said ai for sure and flyable if they can sign some deals. It was left unclear if those deals were with ED or the IP holder.
-
I have both and prefer the Hornet. Not to say the viper won't get there, but right now its the hornet.
-
I agree with you and really don't like a subscription model either. But DCS is a live service and they're working to improve it for me no matter how many modules I buy or don't buy. And the current ea model just has an ever increasing work debt. It reminds of a credit card that one day they won't be able to make the minimum payment for.
-
No, not for modules already paid for. But maybe frozen in DCS 2.5 and a monthly rent for the core "DCS 3.0" to use them in that when it happens.
-
I would be open to a subscription for the base or even subscription for new modules but I would quit dcs if they went to loot boxes or exclusive skins or weapons etc. I'd say either charge for the update to "3.0" or maybe charge like a 5 dollar month subscription for core maintenance. I'd pay more than that but I know people from vastly different backgrounds want to enjoy dcs. Or maybe 10$ a month gets you 3 modules and 15 gets you 6 and 20 gets you all? Just floating ideas.

They've been staying quite on upcoming projects because they have promised to finish their current ones before starting any others. If they were to release information on anything else people would grab their pitchforks. So don't expect much before Harrier and Mirage are finished.
-
While not as dramatically. I agree with the OP. ED has to release modules to make money. But EA and prepurchase discounts are a credit card and not sustainable. Maybe they can charge for 3.0 or go to a subscription model then but I doubt it. Anyway I know ED has to make money. Charge what you need to. But you guys have to see how unhappy everyone was when razbam did this and now ED proper? I don't know the answer but I know I didn't get what I expected with the viper and work on the hornet has slowed down. I do plan to adjust my purchases accordingly.
