Looks like the X-Keys button panel or X-Key 24 would make a good UFC for A-10C....

Did you have to use TARGET for that or did you set it up through the DCS Control options? If so, how did you do it?

Look in the Open Beta "Activation and Installation Problems" thread. Are you installing the first Beta, or trying to install one of the updates?

I had a lot of problems with my Track IR. In fact I have never really gotten used to it and haven't used it much. Since A-10C came out I have been trying it more and found several things that help. First, I downloaded the v5 software instead of the 4 I was using (I have a Track IR 4) and its better. I used the profile Wags posted as a starting point, cranked up the smoothing a bit, and assigned the center and pause functions to unused positions on my Warthog....I used the UP on the mic button for center, and the push function on the mic button for pause. I am much happier with Track IR now.

Nope, trying to get some of the extra symbology out of the way when using the GAU-8. Those tanks are tiny little dots to line up on, need as few distractions as possible!!!

I have looked and looked through the UFC and HUD sections of the manual and can't find it.....is there a way to declutter the HUD?

You know Mower, as nice as the Warthog is, it is still just a joystick, and not a necessity to enjoy DCS:A10. With a good programming setup on your X-52 Pro, you will be fine. My X52 had a short in it so it begged for replacement anyway, I have been using an old Logitech while waiting for the Warthog to get here. Get a Warthog when/if you can, in the meantime just enjoy the sim!!

Got a couple hours of flight time in. Up to now, I had been just practicing basic flight, using the gun, and dropping dumb bombs. Learning the HOTAS will add a whole 'nuther dimension to this sim! Getting the switchology down is going to take some practice....I already made some rookie mistakes like not setting SPI with TMS forward LONG and then wondering why the cursors didn't go where I wanted when I hit "Slave all to SPI". Very impressed with the Warthog so far though!

After a lot of frustrating delays, my TM Warthog from BLT just arrived!!! I haven't fired up DCS with it yet, but some quick initial impressions..... 1. Weight.....WOW! I knew the reviews said it was heavy, but I was still shocked at just how big and heavy this thing is...especially the throttle! If you ran out of bombs, you could drop this thing on the enemy and do significant damage. Until you hold one of these, you simply will not appreciate the size and mass of them. Put the throttle on your desk, and it ain't going anywhere. The joystick is also heavy, and extremely stable due to the big metal base. 2. Switches....very nice!! Obviously quality parts were used. Switches are firm and positive. The only ones I have some doubts about are the pinky on the throttle for the lights, it feels less well made than the others.....and unfortunately the slew control on the throttle....haven't tried it in game yet, but the feel does not inspire confidence...and this is an important control. 3. Throttle and joystick operation....very very nice! Throttle are smooth and the friction adjustment was just right out of the box, but you can loosen/tighten as needed. It takes several turns to notice a difference, but it works. The joystick takes some pressure to move, but since its heavy and has such a stable base, it feels good. 4. Wobble...I have seen the posts about wobble in the throttles and twist in the stick...my stick does not twist at all. The trottles do have some lateral movement, but its not excessive. I am thinking about putting some type of textured vinyl or something on the back of the throttles, they are very smooth and your hand tends to slide around a lot. These also have me thinking how they would be a great start for a pit..... I am off to try this beast out DCS:A-10!! :pilotfly:

There was an article in Air Force magazine in June 2008 that said a helmet mounted cueing system for the A-10 was in the works. I don't know if thats still the case.

Nice! I was hoping to be able to ask some of those kind of questions during Hawgsmoke but never quite got the chance. Wish I knew where the hog driver got his hat...its pretty cool!

I believe you can do it through the DCS controls setup. There is a button for "Modifier" that lets you do it.

Well, I gave up on BLT too, ordered from elsewhere, and have a Warthog inbound and a UPS tracking number in hand. A Warthog in the hand is better than......a BLT pre-order that may or may not show up and may or may not cost what they said it would when I ordered it. I think what is frustrating to people is the fact that some of us ordered from BLT months ago, when they seemed to be the only ones taking pre-orders...and now several months later I end up getting the stick by ordering it from someone else who ships it the same day I order it while BLT has nothing and doesn't seem to be willing to tell me anything. What was the point of the pre-order??

Well 11-2 has come and gone with no change in my order status...still shows due 11-2. :cry:

Well, my order status still says 11-2, thats tomorrow, so we'll see what happens. I hope I am pleasantly surprised....but it will be a real surprise if I am. I am honestly expecting another "delay".
