I've had the same issue for awhile, locked at a solid 45fps, fortunately I have no lag or stuttering and have enjoyable sessions but was also curious why at 40k agl looking up into nothing but a blue sky my fps didn't change. Can you please try to be more specific as to what you did and where you think the issue was, thanks.
  2. After switching from IE11 to MS Edge Chromium I noticed after reading a thread and then going back to the forum the thread is not indicating as having been read...the title is still in bold. I need to press the browser refresh in order to see which threads have been read, indicated by no longer being in bold font. Any idea how to fix this? Thank you.
  3. Would anyone know why guests visiting my room in VR 'Big Screen' [Oculus app], can see me flying DCS but they cannot here any of the audio of the simulator? They can hear me talk though. Thank you.

  6. Yes I have the AB checked off in audio, I actually have a mod in "saved games" that makes AB nicely pronounced but I'm referring to the entire MIL range not AB. Was never able to figure out how to mod the rest of the sounds like I did the AB.

FA-18 update for clarification: 1]"TDC scan altitude readout changes as the radar goes through each individual bar - fixed" This reads to me that the TDC upper and lower altitude numbers on the A/A radar constantly change with each bar sweep...if so I don't see this happening. 2]"Add The sounds for throttle (throttle lims/throttle transition from Idle to Off and back/from mil to AB and back)" I may be hearing a little increase in engine pitch not sure if it's the same as before this update in any case I still don't think it's loud enough. 3]"HUD intensity corrected for non FC3 aircraft" True, but as mention previously the L & R DDI still not fixed. A few items for comment.
  8. If by shaky effect you mean the screen is stuttering then I would suggest going into your: Saved Games\DCS.openbeta you'll see both folders there. After deleting both, DCS will refresh with the newest shader files upon the next start of DCS [may take a bit longer on initial start]. Many including me do this procedure after every update and have found it can do a lot to eliminate this issue. If you have your settings up too high for your system to handle this also will create this issue.

  13. There is also sea mode, I think a sub-menu of A/G that is used for ships.
  14. Interesting how the night time cockpit lighting is actually nicely improved over previous versions and is not affected by this daytime bug. Yes the IFEI needs to be addressed.
  15. The lighting must be a 'time of day' affect because at night it is not affected at all, as mentioned it works great.
  16. Interesting, with yesterday's big update the cockpit night time lighting has improved with added lighting accents but flying during the day you can hardly see the electronic displays and DDI's. Hope they keep the night time lights and tweak the daytime.

  19. Would anyone know why after 20-30 minutes of smooth flight I always get a frozen black screen requiring a force closure of DCS? Only happens with Aerobatics Online Caucasus (OpenBeta), no problems on other servers. Thank you.

Are you saying the path is now without \Sounds\ folder: G:\Users\user name\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Sounds\sdef\Aircrafts\Cockpits/GearLockUp_In.sdef Now eliminate \Sounds\ G:\Users\user name\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\sdef\Aircrafts\Cockpits/GearLockUp_In.sdef Could you please include a sample if I now have it wrong. Additionally: If I am wrong how is it other modded files work with the sounds folder path still in place?

As one example for paths: [note, I tried with 10 other sound files as well] In saved games I have created folder structures according to the sdef_and_wave_list.txt file for both added sdef and wav files. Aircrafts/Cockpits/GearLockUp_In.sdef wave: Effects/Aircrafts/Cockpits/GearLockUp_In G:\Users\user name\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Sounds\sdef\Aircrafts\Cockpits/GearLockUp_In.sdef G:\Users\user name\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Sounds\Effects\Aircrafts\Cockpits/GearLockUp_In.wav I get no change in the sound. The confusing thing is I have had success with other sound mods such as, Snare, Flare, Afterburner_In, copying the folder paths as described above.
  22. I've seen actual videos and never saw a RL pilot have the speed brake extended as any part of the carrier landing. Out of the manual, what is this about? Thank you.
  23. I went to the Rift S from Rift cv-1 but due to an IPD conflict had to return it. For me it was a noticeable marginal improvement. I am very happy with my Rift cv-1 performance and quality. I don't think there will be a sudden quality and performance mega leap in VR technology for those waiting. Could it be done, probably, would it be good business, probably not.
