I was pleasantly surprised when meeting up with the tanker after the 2.5.6 update, and can confirm that this has made it into the new version. From wish list to made the list. Cheers, Don

Haven’t seen an official statement. I don’t use Steam, as it takes a performance hit (VR user here). I use Standalone, and have not been promoted to roll back when starting DCS, while SkateZilla has a tool to rollback to different versions - I haven’t bothered. 2.5.6 is broken in several regards, but personally, I am continuing to test things and try to assist for future releases/fixes. Cheers, Don

You’re welcome sir! Cheers, Don

The “wrong window” message is for when DCS is no longer the focused screen. Also, you now have to ALT+TAB out of DCS, rather than dragging the mouse over desktop and clicking. They’ve now made it so you can’t accidentally click out of DCS while flying in VR. It’s actually a good thing, in my opinion. Cheers, Don

You don't want it right now, trust me. It's quite game breaking in it's current state. Causing massive memory leak issues in MP, loads of bugs for rearming "hot" aircraft, missing external fuel tank options, carrier cat hookups often times result in server crashing (or yourself) by becoming "one with the deck." No idea, an official ED member would have to comment on when 2.5.6 will be released back to Steam - but there are many people working hard right now to report bugs and come up with solution(s) to fix the most pressing ones, if not all of them. PS - welcome to the forums. Cheers, Don

[REPORTED]2.5.6 Dedicated server mission High Mem usage
Ziptie replied to wopski's topic in Multiplayer Bugs
Yes, it's the carrier causing issues. We had someone hook up to the cat, caused an issue. We had someone taxing to the cat and drop their launch bar, caused an issue. We had someone enter into a hot aircraft by the island, as soon as they started to taxi, caused an issue. Something with it is causing Moose script failures as well. It's a shame. We removed the carrier from the server and voila, sorted. No more crazy memory leak on the server machine. Cheers, Don -
Steam had the 2.5.6 beta available briefly, then they rolled it back. It was available for both Steam and standalone for a short period of time. Cheers, Don

You have to click the tank icon on the top banner of the F10 menu, then click the unit. There is a keybind under the combined arms controls section, that will allow you to take control of the driver position, or gunner position (depending on vehicle type). Cheers, Don

[REPORTED]2.5.6 Dedicated server mission High Mem usage
Ziptie replied to wopski's topic in Multiplayer Bugs
If you are using a Stennis - try removing it (temporarily of course) and see if it resolves your memory leak issue(s). It fixed the issue on our server after removing the carrier group, although we narrowed it down to the Stennis itself, we removed the entire group for reasons of not wanting a group navigating the seas without the carrier. Sucks, but a temporary fix for now. Somewhat seems to be tied/associated with the new LSO audio/menu interaction that was introduced. Possibly was another thing that was not supposed to be released, but found it's way in... Cheers, Don -
We had to remove the carrier (Stennis) to get the memory leak to go away after 2.5.6 Also had intermittent issues with the cat shuttle hookups, repeated depressions of the U key to try and hook up, sometimes required moving to an alternate cat. Memory leak certainly seemed related to the "newly" integrated LSO interaction audio/menu options. Cheers, Don

fixed "LOST" indication on HUD after shooting in TWS
Ziptie replied to NoJoe's topic in Bugs and Problems
+ Getting the "LOST" indication on the HUD regularly with the AIM120C after 2.5.6, in TWS or RWS. Only when within 8-9 miles does it seem to display the TTA / TTG appropriately. Cheers, Don -
[NO BUG] Unable to handoff to HARM when hot started.
Ziptie replied to PickleMonster's topic in Bugs and Problems
Works in multi player and single player for me, even after 2.5.6 update.... Master ARM on AG mode Depress HARM OSB twice Depress TOO OSB HARM screen SOI RAID/FLIR FOV button to cycle to desired target Cage/Uncage button Weapon release button Cheers, Don -
You use the F10 map, then select the unit - you can set paths, assign targets, set ROEs, initiate/cease weapon employment and even take over the vehicle and operate it yourself - although if you use VR, operating vehicles with it is incredibly frustrating and can be difficult as the view movements are completely reversed. Cheers, Don

Best module in the game, I'd recommend you reward yourself by learning the aircraft. She's a beauty and while challenging at first to understand terminology, system integration, etc - once you learn it, you'll never forget it. In my opinion, it also makes learning other modules easier. You can do it! Cheers, Don

Are you talking about the bottom right of the FPAS page, where it displays 0 with an up and down arrow on either side of it? If so, this is where you can change your "home plate" from INIT position, to a forward operating base...... Example, take off from the Stennis 140 nm southwest of Kobuleti, program a waypoint for Sukuhmi. Change home plate from 0 to 1, via the up arrow (bottom row of OSB pushbuttons, far right) on the FPAS page. This will eliminate the tendency for the master caution to illuminate and give the HOME FUEL message on the left DDI. Haven't seen any TACAN reference on the FPAS page...... Cheers, Don

After 2.5.6 release, the EW page when entering the "ARM" submenu, now shows CMDS programs along with being able to select the two additional countermeasures (although we don't have any stores to equip). Just an observation. :book: Cheers, Don

[W.I.P] Comparison of nightly cockpits: before and after recent update
Ziptie replied to wernst's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
You nailed it sir, now the panel lighting has been fixed - but the steam gauges and cockpit canopy become "frosted" when formation lights are set to anything above 50% intensity. Yes, slight gamma adjustment made the lighting look even better than initial test of 2.5.6 - but certainly plenty of other bugs/kinds introduced to address. Such is life. Also, sent you a PM. Cheers, Don -
Yes I can confirm this. No rotation of the nose wheel gear mounted taxi light. Also, that the formation lights intensity anything past 50% will "frost" the steam gauges and canopy - making it nearly impossible to see anything outside of the cockpit, or read the gauges. Cheers, Don

unable to rearm in MP with HOT aircraft As the title states - you are unable to rearm and/or refuel in MP with a hot aircraft. You are met with "unable to comply" response from ground crew. Works just fine in SP. Exact same conditions. This applies to the F-14B, A10C, but not the F/A-18C (those are the only modules that I own and fly). Also, we determined the Stennis carrier to be the main source of the memory leak that is currently plaguing many (if not all) of the other MP servers. Test was done in MP server with Caucasus map, and SP with Caucasus map. Cheers, Don
-
Also, the same problem with the F-14B. Oddly, we seem to have tracked the memory leak to the Stennis (in our MP server). Clearly a borked release, but appreciate the effort. Cheers, Don
-
MP server. If aircraft is not cold and dark, unable to comply rearm and/or refuel. Connect ground power, start aircraft, unable to comply when requesting disconnect of ground power. Bug. Tested five times. Cheers, Don

Yeah, not sure why they haven't publicly acknowledged this yet (on the forums at least) - don't follow them on any other means of media, possible they did there I suppose. Many online servers have rolled back to the previous version as well, although the one I fly on regularly hasn't and is running perfectly fine (in terms of server stability, aircraft still have their quirks). Cheers, Don
-
Updates to the aircraft, that can include fixes or simply be a fix. New features are a different thing. Would the TGP being able to be slaved to a waypoint be an update? Negative, it would be a new feature. Steam rolled back, because there are massive and in some cases, game breaking bugs that have migrated in with DCS’ 2.5.6 update. Cheers, Don
