  1. My performance was back to normal after today's patch / hot fix. Out MP server ran butter smooth for the entire time I was in there, which was knocking on the door of 6 hours. Server has been up for over 8 hours now and continues to perform excellent. Still the issue of clouds and objects on the edges of the peripheral VR display flickering, disappearing/reappearing but steps in the correct direction. Cheers, Don
  2. What about the formation lights? Do they still light up the canopy and steam gauges? The "frosting issue?" Cheers, Don
  3. The erratic clouds / objects disappearing and reappearing on the edges of the VR display are still present - however the LOD / draw distance issue has been fixed, or at least for the most part. No issues with that today, back to spotting things from 30 nm in VR. Ground targets, air targets. I do still have the "reverse" logic in my autoexec.cfg file, where it used to be =false , it is still as =true . I will switch this back over tomorrow to see if it will continue to render things in both eyes as it should, and see if it fixes the issue of the in-cockpit flashlight only rendering in one eye. Small steps. Flew for 6+ hours online in our server today without any other issues and was butter smooth for us. Mega steps forward. This patch / hot fix is certainly in the correct direction. Cheers, Don
  4. Yes, the carrier is still an issue after today's patch/hot fix - but they have also made large improvements with today's patch. Hopefully the carrier issue will be addressed soon as well. Cheers, Don
  5. For what it's worth, "our" server was MUCH better today in terms of memory usage. Been up for 8+ hours and no issue at all with it. Appreciate the work that Eagle Dynamics is doing. Not sure how much was our server host / game master and how much was Eagle Dynamics - but clearly the patch/hot fix today in a solid step in the correct direction. The carrier is still an issue and requires them to still be removed from the server to stop issues from arising, but I am assuming that Eagle Dynamics is aware of this and working hard to address the situation. Cheers, Don
  6. Correct. But I will happily (as happy as one can be in this situation) trade bandits render in both eyes over the flashlight only rendering in one. It is incredibly odd how the behavior has changed - not sure how they could make this drastic of an error with the new changes (just speaking in terms of rendering in this instance, excluding other issues). Cheers, Don
  7. I only noticed it after flying in the server, of our dynamic mission (created by a genius and no it's not me). Assign a friendly AI cap aircraft a bandit as target - SPI shows on TAD with purple line coming from friendly aircraft, to that SPI. Have even hooked it via the TAD and been able to get visual representation (as you would with a hooked SPI) via the HUD. Will grab a screen shot of it next time, hopefully server will be back up tomorrow for a quick turn around for you. Haven't seen it outside of his server, to my recollection. I've only been flying the DCS since 2017, so you've certainly got a few years on me. Cheers, Don
  8. There is a massive draw distance issue right now with 2.5.6 Are you able to see them if you use the zoom feature, or are they just completely gone? For example, the Red Bull air race pylon that is 0.2 nm from my position is invisible unless it use VR zoom in the direction of it - yet I can see contrails from an aircraft from 15-20 nm without using VR zoom (spyglass or regular zoom). Unsure if they have acknowledged this officially yet, but sure hope they are aware of it. Have seen many mentions of it, here and in their official Discord social media platforms. Cheers, Don

  10. Have you tried adjusting the brightness rotary knobs on the DDIs and AMPCD? I turn them down, and seems to make a noticeable and positive improvement on my side..... There is quite a bit of fidelity for all three screens, with that adjustment. Cheers, Don
  11. Did it by chance change the group ID that you are on? Just flew a single player campaign mission today, friendly ground units were displayed on the TAD, as was my wingman.... Cheers, Don
  12. You can. See my post above. Cheers, Don
  13. In the server that I fly on (with fog of war) - via F10, assigning an enemy unit as a "target" for a coalition aircraft / ground unit, displays a SPI on my TAD. Cheers, Don
  14. I use my taxi and landing light, still don't have the issue of the light illuminating the canopy glass. All that illuminates the canopy glass for me is the formation lights being turned up to more than 50% intensity...... Night, day, same effect. Cheers, Don
  15. Yes, unfortunately the F14 campaign is broken and won't even put me into the aircraft on the carrier. Eagle Dynamics severely compromised even the single player side of their game. Such is the consequence of pushing things to the limit and trying to oblige impatient people constantly asking "will there be an update this week" or "when is the feature going to be completed/added?" I shall be signing off and waiting for positive news and then resuming the DCS experience then. Cheers, Don
  16. Can confirm it is also the formation lights, if turned up over 50% intensity. Still have yet to encounter the landing/taxi light shining into the canopy like this, but can confirm that taxi light is fixed and does not rotate with front landing gear as it should during taxi. Cheers, Don
  17. 1. Negative sir. Just use the control / key binding menu from within DCS' settings menu. 2. In my opinion, it is best to find a control binding arrangement that is best for you (aside from the A10C which should most likely be left to realistic behavior/assignments). 3. If you are in the controls menu, and you chose import from the top of the screen - these control bindings will stay for that aircraft. You do not need to import them every time. Welcome to DCS and the forums. Oregon is a beauty of a state isn't it? Cheers, Don
  18. For an easy reference .... https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/general/ Cheers, Don
  19. There are a few factors to this question.... 1. Only servers matching your Stable / OpenBeta version will be shown (currently fewer than normal most likely). 2. I believe that only maps that you own will populate in the server list (i.e I do not own Normandy map, and those servers do not show for me)...... Possibly this is the issue? 3. Make sure that you do not have any parameters set in searching for a server (top of MP screen). Welcome to the forums! Cheers, Don
  20. I forgot to add the step highlighted in bold: (assuming you have aligned the JDAM, if not do so) MASTER ARM on AG MODE selected OSB pushbutton to select JDAM OSB pushbutton TOO OSB pushbutton JDAM DISPLAY OSB pushbutton MSN WPDSG to slave FLIR Slew FLIR with TDC slightly NWS to undesignate waypoint target (should leave FLIR at location) FLIR SOI SCS in direction of FLIR display for PTRK mode TDC slew to target TDC depress (to designate target) Verify coordinate entry HSI will now display bearing and launch zone Weapon release Cheers, Don
  21. RWS when you have created at DT1 and DT2, NWS will switch between tracks. Not sure if this is correct behavior, as I understood it to be a feature/function of TWS only.... Cheers, Don
  22. Have you tried using the brightness adjustment knob on the DDI and AMPCD? Mine are similar, but a quick adjustment of each display, via the brightness adjustment knob brings them into a shade of green rather than yellow, and brings the AMPCD from "iPhone at full brightness when it's dimly lit around you" to readable and not harsh to the eyes. The AMPCD still isn't perfect, but much better than before for me after adjustments in the cockpit. Cheers, Don
  23. +1 on the clouds and rendering of objects (aircraft parts, etc) appearing and disappearing. Seems to be based upon rotation of the head, which is incredibly frustrating since that is a normal thing to do while wearing VR.... In regards to : stereo_mode_use_shared_parser = false This is so things render in each eye of VR. Previously, false would make it so both eyes rendered equally. Now it needs to be set to true, to make both eyes render equally - which is backwards logic, 100%. I have messaged a couple mods/devs with this information, which can be placed in the autoexe.cfg file, located in your saved games location, then inside the config folder. Cheers, Don
  24. I use 1.5 gamma (VR user) and seems to be a pretty good sweet spot for me. Not sure what your setting is at, but figured I'd send what works for me across. Cheers, Don
