+1 Was really hoping that this had been resolved during my time away from DCS. Cheers, Ziptie -
[NO BUG - W.I.P] Interior Lights only rendering in Right Eye
Ziptie replied to DroptheHammer's topic in VR Bugs
So if we change the line to read "options.graphics.stereo_mode_use_shared_parser disabled" will it fix certain clouds only being rendered and interior lights only being rendered in one eye, or do we need to have it set to "options.graphics.stereo_mode_use_shared_parser true" or "options.graphics.stereo_mode_use_shared_parser false" ? Apologies, but I've been away from DCS for quite some time with life tasking - and have recently started getting some time to re-enter the virtual skies - many things are different, some for the worse and some for the better. Cheers, Ziptie -
There is no decrease in rendering when DCS is "ALT+tab" to another window. The only thing that happens, is text across the top of the rendered screen that says "window not focus" and you lose the mouse cursor. In other words, you can still move your head around and the view tracks your head movement and it is still mirrored on the monitor with your head movement being tracked. Could the mouse no longer being rendered truly increase FPS by 20 or so? If so, seems like something to look into for us VR users and the mighty, mighty FPS hit that we have all experienced over the last year or so of updates/patches/hotfixes. Maybe something with the UI layer in general? For the record - I followed the OP's steps and also experienced the exact same thing - from 22 FPS on the ground to 42 FPS. Cheers, Don

I'd like to know if we will be able to map the Thrustmaster MFD peripherals to toggle the master arm, gun pac/arm and laser master arm switches in the A10C "II". Currently, in the A10C - I am unable to reassign the contrast/brightness and the other two (the 4 perimeter rocker switches on the Thrustmaster MFD's) for the A10C. It would be great to have this option for both versions of the A10C (I and II). However, in the Viper, Hornet and Tomcat - those rocker's are able to be reassigned to different bindings - which I find incredibly useful to be able to control your master arm switches with a quick depress of a button, rather than selecting it with you mouse (I use VR). Hope my initial question isn't lost, if it was - please reference the first paragraph of this post. Cheers, Ziptie

As the title states - the flashlight seems to be tied to the main battery power switch. I am able to toggle the flashlight upon entry to cold and dark cockpit of the Hornet, however as soon as the main battery power switch has been toggled on, then back to off - the flashlight power also turns off. Is this intended or a bug? Seems like a bug - as the flashlight shouldn't be tied to any external power. Cheers, Don

Did you have both the master arm switch "on" as well as the A/G mode button enabled? Using a switch for the LTD/R works for me, but you have to have both of those master modes "on" otherwise it will not move the LTD/R switch from the aft postition. Cheers, Ziptie

Have you tried moving the start menu bar to the side of the screen, so it doesn't pop up (if you have autohide feature on)? I personally do this (dragging the start menu to the side) prior to launching DCS - don't have any issues getting to switches that are located aft in the cockpit. Cheers, Ziptie

[MISSING TRACK FILE] F/A-18C NOT STRAPPING UP ON CATAPULT
Ziptie replied to N0as's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yup, exactly what some one else confirmed, and myself - on page 1. Cheers, Don -
Sure thing. Sounds about right. Well I am off, so won't be around for quite some time - looking forward to seeing what is in the current version when I am back in a few months. Cheers, Don

[RESOLVED]Odd Messages on Screen STATIC / MAIN
Ziptie replied to speed-of-heat's topic in General Bugs
No work around for MP. Single player there is, by entering a mission, exiting and then choosing “fly again.” Cheers, Don -
Almost 100% certain that is the case, but as I have CA, don’t know what it looks like without CA. Cheers, Don

2.5.6 introduces stutter every 30 seconds or so
Ziptie replied to GunSlingerAUS's topic in Game Performance Bugs
In your saved games folder, then DCS open beta folder, then fxo folder - delete the contents of this. Then go back one level, find metashaders2 folder, delete the contents of that folder. Then boot DCS. The contents of those folders are shaders and texture files that can cause problems by duplicating or not being replaced properly after an update. Cheers, Don -
Affirmative. Set the keyboard in your lap if it’s not easily accessible while doing so. Personally, I have reassigned the num pad keys to the UFC keypad on the Hornet so I can type coordinates in easier (or weapon settings if applicable). For the A10C, I have the num pad keys set to the numeric keys of the CDU, again for coordinate entry or TAD and weapon profile settings. I assigned the VR center key to one of the buttons on my McLaren GT3 wheel. Cheers, Don

Are you using the same build we are, or are you using a dev build? Just curious if this might be the difference - as everyone I have asked online is reporting the same thing (2.5.6), and clearing 30 people I have asked. 30/30. I have disabled track file writing on my DCS, so not of assistance in that area. Cheers, Don

If you get electrical power turned on for the aircraft, turn your radio on and set the correct freq for the airfield, then you can request startup and should get clearance for startup. Cheers, Done

Well if you are getting a substantial amount of fuel transfer from contact with tanker, your aircraft’s weight distribution will most likely be changed by a pretty decent amount... I personally don’t adjust trim while AAR. Just make very fine and constant adjustments to throttle, pitch and roll. Sorry I can’t be of any real help to you with your question(s). Cheers, Don

[NEED TRACK REPLAY]Following Re-Arm, TGP inop
Ziptie replied to cdrkrotchetyusn's topic in Bugs and Problems
You are not alone. Mahuja gives sound advice for a "work around" to this bug which was introduced with 2.5.6 ^^ 100% this ^^ Cheers, Don -
Agree with the others - sounds like you might be missing the step of choosing which autopilot assist you are desiring. Starboard of the AP Engage/Disengage button, 3 way position switch for ALT, ALT/HDG, PATH. The AP control panel is just aft of the throttles. Cheers, Don

+1 Well said, agreed. Love/hate relationships are typically the ones that are worth continuing. The OP is from a member, not a representative of Eagle Dynamics. Don't be the forum dictionary police. Whether it is the topic that you don't like, or the praise that they are trying to show to the company that provides a game that many like to play (presumably including yourself otherwise why would you be a member as well). Cheers, Don

Seat height toggle switch, to the left of the landing gear lever. I don't lean or hunch. Personally, I drop my chin to chest and depress the VR view recenter key. This way, the virtual pilot is sitting all the way back in the seat, rather than towards the front edge of the seat. Easy to confirm alignment in the F/A-18C as you have a pilot body that lines up your real shoulders to the virtual shoulders. A10C doesn't offer that "luxury" but doesn't take long to know where the sweet spot is and quick set. Cheers, Don

Default terrain shadows and medium shadows. VR user. Can confirm the issue. Cheers, Don
