  1. Thanks...here's the situation. I was in a Tomcat in the parking area, then I hit alt-F9 to get to the LSO station (didn't seem to be able to get there any other way). My buddies were all making their traps and they can hear me guiding them in but also Jell-o's voice guiding them in talking over me. So to fix that all they could do was turn their radios down so they can only hear me (we were on Teamspeak). v6, boNes
  2. To what extent can we and will we be able to use the LSO station? I hit LATL-C so I can use the mouse pointer but it seems to do nothing more than let you move the mouse around. Also, in MP, my buddies were saying they can still hear the AI LSO ("Jell-O") even though I am directing them in. Is there a way to turn that off? TO get around this we've been turning the radio volume all the way down. But is there a toggle? Ot should it detect it's in MP and someone is at the LSO station so Jello's voice isn't needed? v6, boNes
  3. I've been experimenting with this. I have found so far that: 1. You have to call inbound for any comms options to show up 2. You should call see you at 10 when hitting 10 miles 3. You should leave the comms menu off until you call in overhead and they give you signal charlie. Then, when you turn comms menu on, it will say hornet clara/kiss of/etc. I think the biggest key is not opening comms again until you get signal charlie. v6, boNes
  4. I've noticed in MP when starting hot at parking you don't need to call ground crew ready to launch. Whichever cat crew you go too, they appear to activate when you get close enough. I did notice though that whichever crew you go to, when you get hooked up, at no time do they signal spread wings/unfold wings. I remember to, but that's just me--if you use a checklist you will catch it too. But if you forget or don't use a checklist, there is a possibility they will go all the way to launch even though your wings aren't configured. Is this a bug, or is it something in the mission editing? Also, when entering the initial I've noticed that if you leave your comm menu options on ("see you at 10" showing) and they give you signal charlie, the menu never changes for kiss off/clara/etc. If you do the same thing with the comms menu off after calling see you at 10, then wait until after you get signal charlie, it works fine though. Is this another bug? Finally when calling inbound in the Tomcat, you see your frequency change to tower but nothing happens. If you call again immediately, then you get an answer. IS this another bug? No such issue with the Hornet that I can see. v6, boNes v6, boNes
  5. Very great and informative first post! What's your experience with this, how did you know? v6, boNes
  6. Always wondered why do they call it ease guns? v6, boNes
  7. I read the whole manual when the draft was released (except for the mission editor stuff). Guess I didn’t recall it in the manual or I’m too used to civilian IFR holds. Although you push then anyway if say your radio is out. v6, boNes
  8. Don’t feel bad about the (ok). That’s what most naval aviators get on average v6, boNes
  9. I was at the Marshall hold and push time of 44 came, but I got no clearance call. Is this a bug, did I do something wrong, or is it assumed we just go ahead and push? Anyone else get an actual clearance call? v6, boNes
  10. Great thanks! Isn,t it also that you should be timing it so that you’re on the inbound leg by the time they clear you in, so that you just go straight to the boat into the push from Marshal? v6, boNes
  11. So if you are told expected push time 44. time now 32, does that mean you can expect clearance to leave Marshall when it is 44 minuts past the hour and right now it is 32 minutes past the hour? How does that go? Thanks! v6, boNes
  12. Yeah it won't list in MP since there is no debrief screen. Quick and dirty solution so far is screenshoot it before it disappears or video it! v6, boNes
  13. From what I understand, the squadron is assigned a Marshall altitude. Of course I don't see that happening here so I think it's not finished yet. BUt I've found in the instant action F-14 missions anyway, that if you choose 2000 for Marshall, everything seems fine. When flying the Marshall around the post though, I've never had to fly the enitre poistion from 1 through 4. When I approach 1, my plane calls overhead angels 2, etc and they give me signal charlie off the bat. So I fly position 2 then 3 before I descend and get ready to enter the intitial (since descents are done between positions 2 and 4). Anyone ever have to fly all 4 positions? v6, boNes
  14. I never see the bald LSO guy. Hitting lalt-c doesn't do anything Is there a function for making the LSO screen full screen? v6, boNes
  15. In MP I was able to get An LSO on the Stennis just no Supercarrier eye candy. But the ball and the LSO were working I found the missions in the Hornet mission section, more toward the bottom nestled in. v6, boNes
  16. I just did the stock F-14 case I Caucuses mission a few times. When in air start, I immediately called ATC>cvn74>inbound and there was no response. I flew it anyway and heard from no one but when I rolled into the groove the IFLOS came up on the left side of the screen and I trapped. Only then did I hear from anyone which was a text message with my grade, no grade—no comms. Tried again same thing, got a trap grade though. How come I can’t raise anyone on the radio? Also, are the elevators working? I taxied to the aft eland parked but nothing happens. I took a nice camera tour of the hangar deck though. I also noticed that there were no stock Supercarrier missions for the Hornet. v6, boNes
  17. And when you are in MP without a human RIO, you can't jump in the back to IFF so yes it would be nice if he'd do his friggin job!!!! HAha. v6, boNes
  18. Yeah from what I've seen the VDI seems to be the most reliable. I find it interesting since the RIO does most of the navigating that he has no control over the OBS to select the course for the TACAN or WP or anything in his HSI repeater. v6, boNes
  19. I re-verified yesterday and not only does it seem to be fixed, but the stick also has a tiny stick perpendicular to it that shows which direction the target is trending, which I thought was pretty neat! v6, boNes
  20. To help them, land? You mean in general? Because I was talking about steering for keeping Phoenix targets within the radar scan. v6, boNes
  21. OK, thanks! Which one should I follow for now? VDI or HUD? v6, boNes
  22. So when you are in TWS-A and you are supposed to steer the T so that it is centered. I've noticed that if I have it centered in the VDI, in the HUD it is not centered. It is usually off to one side. So why is that and which center T should you go with? This is with barely any maneuvering as well, but I would think the HUD and the VDI would show the T in the same place, right? v6, boNes
  23. I have noticed no change in the condition... v6, boNes
  24. And in my particular case, I had fired off the first Mav, and the next one refused to uncage or fire. v6, boNes PS Hi Grif!
  25. So we were flying MP last night adn me and my wingman both noticed that the Mavericks wouldn't uncage. In my case, I got the first Maverick to fire fine, but when I went to target another target with the 2nd Maverick right afterwards, it refused to uncage. I was set to AG mode, had the TDC diamond in the Maverick screen, but everytime I hit uncage, the screen still said CAGED. My wingman had the same problem. He's not sure but he things that when he changed to AA then back to AG it worked OK after that, but he can't confirm it. We did land and swap out our GBUs for Mavs before going on this mission, so he thinks maybe the ground crew armed it wrong? Like if we move anything while they are arming it messes it up? Any ideas? Also , we both tuned in an ADF. I heard the Morse code but never saw the circle icon in the HSI compass rose as usual. He was tuned in the same way but he could see the circle. Anyone know what's up with that? Thanks! v6, boNes
