  1. Hi, I do remember a mod of a Statick Object (a Speaker) that emitted a certain sound in a given radius. Could anyone point me to it? I would like to learn/replicate the feature in another static object and it could be a great starting point for me. Thank you!
  2. Slightly more simple, but still... Useful. Thank you
  3. Cool! Thanks the info!
  4. Personally I do not give a **** if it's "realistic" or not... There is nothing wrong about having a few more options for the Spitfire. Another thing would be if it was suddenly equipped with AA missiles or so... :] The addition is welcome, at least by me.
  5. Hi, Is the server going to switch to Stable after the latest Stable 2.5.6 release? I do not really care, it is just that I would like to know in advance, if possible, so I tweak my DCS installation. Thank You
  6. +1
  7. Thanks for the info -0303- This seems very interesting.
  8. Thanks for the warning. However, all the mods I use so far seem to keep working fine after the update. This stuff of the PBR-AO map seems really "intriguing" to me. Would be great BIGNEWY's support here, I am very happy to see that many of the issues reported by him to the devs have been fixed so far, in a pretty short period of time  Un Saludo tambien paco2002 :]
  9. Hi, After today's updates on Mi-8 I have noticed quite a disgusting surprise. I use my own PBR textures for Mi-8, and with my custom AO map, I was able to get rid of the Armor Plates awful "shadowed" areas in the not litten part of the model. It seems that now it is not reading the RoughMet texture AO map (Red Channel) anymore and loading the default one. Metalic and Rough channels are working properly. Am I right? Any idea about why this is happening after the latest patch? * Noticed I posted in wrong place... sorry. Could somebody move this to: Art Issues (3D, textures, animations) Please Thank you
  10. Thank you for reporting and fixing this !!! Still, light domes do not seem to emit much light... but I admit cockpit looks now pretty neat at night. Plus... Those new powerful searchlights :D!
  11. Have the searchlights of Mi-8 greatly been improved in today's patch? Or its just me being hype? If not... :] Thanks for listenig ED Team !!! Would be now possible that they cast shadows also :smilewink:
  12. Thanks for the update, looking forward to it
  13. For what I know Mi-24 has an "autopilot hover" system integrated. Mi-8 "autopilot" won't hover, take off or land for you :], are more adjustments Engineer does for you to aid maintaining heading, altitude and so.
  14. Might be Versions, some have Stable others Open Beta. If they both have the same version there is the possibility for the server still not to be visible for somebody in the list (maybe some residual installation stuff) still Connecting by IP , as David OC advises, with the same version should work.
  15. I know this is a No MODS server so far, at least concern about the integrity check. When sling loading ops are added it would be great you consider upuaut's cargo object addon, located in the Statick Object folder of the download. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=124251 It would be epic to see other Helicopters lifting an Uaz car or Humvee, Antenna, Sandbags, or workers and red cross campaign house models. This mod is very popular in the community and does not break integrity check :smilewink:, not even mod tool needed to install, placing it inside the Savegames Mod tech folder does the trick. It works as an asset pack. Hope you consider this in the future, and of course, and again :] ... Thanks for the server as it is so far
  16. Basically, since 2.5.6 Open Beta started: -Reduced Screen Resolution... -Less Anisotropic filter -Removed completely Antialiasing -Cockpit Res to 512 -Sometimes... set Terrain textures to Low (This one is the hardest choice...) I remember when 2.5.5 came I started to play DCS again. My laptop was able to move everything much better than before, a great look and performance improvement overall, and new Caucasus, (still amazing map) That was the greatest DCS update in History as far as I can recall. I hope by the time DCS goes to 2.5.6 Stable, that performance boost of 2.5.5 comes back :music_whistling:
  17. Hey Eight Ball! Thank you, looking forward to it, but no hurry :]
  18. Thank you Babok. I see some textures are missing for one of the Cars, the SAR human model, Truck Glass and the Generator model :[. I will try to figure out what is missing :].
  19. Hi, I am really interested in the Cargos assets, basically, all the gorgeous assets that appear in the first screenshot of the main post. All for Sling Loading ops. I have downloaded most of the stuff but I will like to install only those plus the single Farps. Any clue about which folders should I use? I know Farps I get from Helipads, no problem for that, but all the Slingloadable assets? Are they in a specific folder? Thank you
  20. I will try with all textures then. Thanks for the tip :].
  21. Indeed that's the first thing I did. Sadly even if moded texture folder is activated in OvGME, it works just the first time I run DCS after activating it... After, I run it again, even if mod active, ugly prop comes back somehow.:joystick: Also, not ideal as it does not pass integrity check, however as you point out, "best workaround" so far...
  22. Thanks for the info and the post Art-J, did not see it before. It seems to be no performance improvement for me... Indeed I did compress these textures like a couple of months ago to check if it could fix the problem of a VR user with the prop. In no VR the result was exactly the same as new prop textures, was looking horrible... There was no performance boost at all. I understand Mustang, 109, and Dora has not this problem and indeed their cockpits perform much better in FPS, at least for me. I agree that even if the effect is very subtle in these birds I do prefer that boost in the FPS and not having ugly artifacts in the prop that are "distracting" none the less...
  23. After a quick test (no VR here) of available WWII birds so far: - Mustang,109 and Dora ( No artifacts, average cockpit FPS performance) - I-16 and 190 A8 ("Subtle" artifacts, Bad cockpit FPS performance) - Spitfire (Ugly artifacts, average cockpit FPS performance) Noticed no performance change with new "compressed" textures.
  24. Hi, I do not fly in VR, but I have noticed that for a month or 2 the Spit moving prop textures look really bad. Now original file size for diffuse prop textures is around a 25% smaller. I know because I have a backup of an older version where they size around 21 mega each. Anybody noticed this? I have uninstalled the module a couple of times and prop still seems really bad :helpsmilie:
  25. Hi, I hope Huey and Mi-8 searchlights get a nice update at some point. It would make night flying a lot more interesting. I understand that they should be a lot more powerful, so they cover at least 10 times the distance they do now. That way we can really use them for what they are meant in real life. If the increase of "power" of these lights causes some kind of big performance issues them I would understand that their update could take some time, but if it is just about editing a couple of text files... then I would really appreciate a hot fix before 2.5.6 arrives to stable. Thanks!
