Low drag bombing in DYK and ANF since last update ...
IDontLikeBigbrother replied to TOViper's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
It is on a windy day or what? From my own experience i think you need to make some small compensation, if you strictly follow the reticle, you will miss. -
harm and slamer. We need smarter ways to clean the ground-----that's what an air force is built for!

flying a6m5 on some remote pacific island is kind of romantic. Also zero series are iconic fighters of ww2

When we will see video with Tomcat cockpit ?
IDontLikeBigbrother replied to Flia's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
The Tomcat in WINTER as the Hornet in SPRING. You never know how seasons operate in high latitude place. -
HD Bomb wind correction seems off
IDontLikeBigbrother replied to bertOC's topic in Bugs and Problems
Same here, it seems that every wind-related weapon release is somehow inacurate or even bugged, happens on the new bk90 release and arak long range release, etc. -
Same here, this bug has happened since human knew how to use fire, and nothing changed till 2.5 era

Problems I Want to Mention About Viggen
IDontLikeBigbrother replied to Devrim's topic in Bugs and Problems
Support your idea with the contrast adjustment device! When I skim above the sea I feel really hard to see the altitude number because the sky is so bright. But maybe they simply dont have such a device on the plane? -
BK-90 launch authorization comes way too late
IDontLikeBigbrother replied to Flappie's topic in Bugs and Problems
actually I think the launch authorization IS LATE even you follow the attack speed and altitude. Actually you can launch the bk90 like 5 or 6 seconds before the authorization and the munition still flys to the target and completes the attack. -
Two things 1 performance: it is the worst of all. the fps is the lowest among all modules, on the same condition(same time same weather same runway) 2 FM : this plane in the past and the plane we current have are just two things!

We need to fix our current shit out before we daydream about future!

I am ANGRY! I need a spitfire and a WHITE dover cliff! I bought this map for this! But it is GREEN! Anyone know anything about this?

Is RB04 really that ineffective?
IDontLikeBigbrother replied to hideki2's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
RB04 has a shaped charge warhead which is not very effective against ships: 1 The shaped charge warhead needs to explode at an exact height above the target to aquire the best result. However a ship is not a flat suface. 2 The damage method of shaped charge warhead is not effective against ships. A shaped charge warhead is effective against a tank because a tank has a very compact inside, those important parts are very close to each other. However, a ship is very big, so a shaped charge may just hit some kitchens or restrooms. Maybe a more violent way is better for antiship role:simply tear the structure apart with a big bomb---- use HE warheads. And I think think that is why rb15 choose this type of warhead. -
Actually I think the problem is that the munitions are never affected by the wind! I've just tested some rocket long range shot again, rockets was in air for like 10 second under 17kn cross wind, and the impact point perfect lines up with the launch direction. I might do a lumination flare test later.

How to attack AA defended targets (Blue Flag)?
IDontLikeBigbrother replied to Hoggorm's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
If there is only AAA there, you can always use this tactics. 1 Use highdrag bombs. 2 fly suuuuuupeeeeeer fast and suupeer low(fast is more important than low) 3 when you approach to the target, pull up slightly to release alttitude(dont follow the manual 50m alttitude, 30 or 40 meters is high enough) 4about 2km to the target, crank your stick back and forward randomly.(this 2km distance is up to the AAA and your self. basically you crank your plane just half a second before the AAA starts firing. If you see the yellow tracer and then crank, it is a little late). 5 release the bombs. 6 get your ass out of here as fast as you can. I use this tactics to successfully hit kirov and get out in one piece. (1 success out of 7 tries) -
Something about u22a pod work method
IDontLikeBigbrother replied to IDontLikeBigbrother's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Same as what I found, but I think the firing machinism is a little bit different. The enemy sam can sometimes fire the missile before they aquire a steady lock, and the problem is here: the semi-active radar missile cannot guide to the target once it lost the target, but in dcs, the missile can still hit you when the radar lost the lock. Another thing: sometimes the rwr never gives you a warning! you just suddenly blows up! That happens when I face 052c. Russian Bias! -
It seems that the wind correction for weapons is always over calculate. So if you drop the bomb on a windy day, the calculated impact point is waaaaay left than the real impact point(if the wind is from RIGHT to LEFT). Obviously in dive bombing, the wind cannot affect the bomb much. However in the rocket long range release mode, it seems that those rockets are not affected by the wind at all! The final impact area perfectly lines up with the nosecone---the direction when the rockets are released. That's pretty annoying when the rockets fly like 7km but still hit the targets ignoring 19kn crossing wind.

What new feature of the Hornet are you most looking forward to?
IDontLikeBigbrother replied to Wags's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Must be slamer, it is multipurpose weapon with really long range, and the range is really long. With slamer, we can use ajs37 as an elint reconnaissance plane and strike the radar with slamer. This will grant us much longer range than using harm along. -

Something about u22a pod work method

That's pretty sad. Do you think ed will cover this section when they complete the f18c? I've heared some decoys is on the way. -
Something about u22a pod work method
IDontLikeBigbrother replied to IDontLikeBigbrother's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Nope, I didnt maneuver when I tested this ecm pod -
Anyone know how this pod works in dcs? Does it simply make a lot of noise, or use some complex methods to break the radar lock? Does it suppress the sam firing range? What I found is that accroding to the rwr, it seems that the pod somehow break the lock, because when I get a lock rwr tone, it lasts for several seconds and disappears. After several seconds I get locked again and the situation repeats until I get close enough that the pod cannot break the radar. But the problem is that it doesnt have the breaking lock effect, the sam are all semi active guidance so when the lock is broken, the missile already fired should not hit its target. But the missile hits me as well.
