I'm holding off on getting the Tomcat for now. Have alot of RL stuff going on and I don't have time right now to put into learning a module as complex as the F-14 appears to be. I still look forward to seeing them in action on the MP servers.

Speed and technology replaced payload capacity and durability. It would have been interesting to see where things would have gone if the Navy had carried through with the A-6F Intruder II and A-7F Super Corsair.

I hope we see this bird one day. Preferably the GR3A variant. :smilewink:

I created a practice mission just to test out SA. Threw in an E-3 and few hostile aircraft. The AWACS didn't appear. I swapped the E-3 for the E-2D and got the same result.

No SAR is a shame. :( As for how many. I believe ED also said they were modeling the F-16C Blk 50 used by the Air National Guard in 2007. I don't know how systems are allocated between AD, Reserves and Guard but I'm not too surprised if Guard units are using older radars (still using the V5 radar in 2007) while the Active Duty squadrons have all the latest bells and whistles on their Vipers. Plus ED not being able to get all the fine details on the newer versions of the APG-68.

Still somewhat disappointed ED can't build the APG-68 (v9). I am very intrigued by what the AGM-158 will bring given the larger warhead the JASSM has over the SLAM. As far as ingame mission preference, I have a feeling I'd really be leveraging the F-16 for A2A and SEAD missions while still using the Hornet for strike and CAS.

Aside from the A-6 and F-14D, I'd love to see Heatblur apply its expertise to an Eastern Bloc aircraft like the MiG-25PD or the MiG-27K eventually.

The F-4E (1980s spec) is already in the works. Hope we also get the navalized F-4S aswell. The F-8J Crusader would be an awesome addition and be a nice dance partner for the Mig-19 and 21.

I also understand that ED is working on the AIM-7P which added mid-course correction capabilities and better low-altitude performance. Will this also be incorporated into the F-14?

Seeing more systems become functional in the Skyhawk makes me hope it gets included more in MP servers.

Out of curiosity, was the A-4E ever re-engined with the P-408 like the A-4F or did they just stick with the P-8 engine?

ED forums has become Tumblr all of a sudden. Personally, I don't care and would even welcome the addition of female voices as an option but I don't think it should be a high priority either. I especially don't want to see it done for the sake of appeasement. I'm more interested in seeing the pilot's get more animation, especially for VR users in the case of sending hand signals through the pilot.

Happy to get the LANTIRN pod here hopefully within the next few weeks. Maybe ED will introduce the JDAMs earlier as well with this available.

I noticed the Mav can be fired from alittle further out. The missile will take a higher arc than before where you would fire the Mav and it would start descending almost immediately.

Gave the JTAC with LGBs a try and got it to work after a few tries. Still, will probably not touch the GBUs until the ATFLIR pod is released, hopefully sometime this winter.

Very curious to see how RAZBAM simulates the APG-70. Also still wondering if it will be based on the early MudHen with the F-15C engines or the later with the upgraded F100-PW-229 engines.

I would certainly like to see a more functional F-15C. You don't need to simulate every single system but I'd like to see more interaction with the cockpit. Also, give the F-15 the AIM-9X and JHMCS. :D

Nice picture. Alot of interesting what-ifs surrounding the Cat. It would have been interesting to see if the ASF or something near to it would have become a reality regardless of cost. I also wonder how the F-14s long-range missile capability would have been enhanced if the AIM-152 AAAM had entered operations replacing the Phoenix.

I've pretty much stopped using the Hornet for CAP mission in MP and stick with the F-15 just because my survivability in the FC3 Eagle is better.

If you've become used to the data overload from the Hornet HUD, the F-14's HUD is going to seem quite barren by comparison.

From what Wags has stated, simulating the full functioning IFF of the Hornet is complicated. I imagine part of it is dependent on other systems functioning or near to it like MIDS and Link-16.

This is a good shot of the GE F110s on AB. Certainly more intense than what is seen in the current Heatblur F-14.

The F-111 Foxtrot version would be a great addition and a true interdiction aircraft in DCS outside of the nonflyable Su-24.
