I balked in the 11th hour and bought it.

I wouldn't raise hopes on a Fullback as much as I'd love to see it happen. Never understood why the RU government is so tight lipped with even older gen aircraft like the Su-24M, MiG-27 and 23MLD. As has been pointed out, the MiG-29A and probably the S has been examined and studied by pretty much every country in NATO. There is nothing hidden anymore. It's practically the same with the Su-27S.

The APG-68v5 and APG-73 are that similar in their A-G mode?

Still waiting for the official release date on the Falcon and what features will be there before deciding on the preorder. Hoping for the 9th.

I get the sense that the 16 will be fully developed at a much faster pace than what we have seen with the Hornet. Still think it will take a good year. I'm waiting to see what the final release date is before deciding whether I'll preorder.

I'm honestly banking on it coming out the second week in October.

I might use the Walleye, if we get one with a nuclear warhead. :smilewink:

Looking forward to seeing the full capabilities of the Litening pod but the HUD indicator and the cheek station availability are the ones that will make the most pronounced improvements to using it in my view.

All I'm hoping for in the next OB update is HUD symbology finally added to the Tpod and maybe the cheekmount station as a bonus.

It's unfortunate in my view the USAF or NG units won't be getting the F-16V.

I'm assuming the SLAM and SLAM-ER will rely more on using waypoints and coordinates much like the JSOW as opposed to the A-G radar?

This^ I don't know what the actual drag produced by carrying additional missile racks is on the real Hornet but the F/A-18 feels sluggish when even carrying just 6 Aim-120s. I don't get the same feeling when carrying bombs.

The one perk to the Hornet in MP is that alot of the A2A engagements, in my experience, often occur in the mountains. I feel more confident when having to maneuver in the phone booth along with the AIM-9X.

With the frequency of videos coming out, I wouldn't be surprised to see it release on the 27th.

The Hornet is a striker first and a fighter second to me based on it being designed to replace the A-7 Corsair and remaining F-4s. Not so much the A-6 as the Navy was looking to the A-12 Avenger to replace the Intruder which obviously never happened.

Have to second this. Would rather see more of the current features be completed before any talk of additional weapons, particularly the Tpod, TWS, etc.

Was there any real advantage in using the Walleye over any of the Paveway IIs or the Maverick?

If the F-16 gets TWS at the start of early access, I can just see the Hornet forum erupting.

I'm pretty sure ED has stated the damage model for the Harpoon is still WIP.

Considering ED seems focused on the years of 2005-2007, an earlier block Super Hornet would be a great addition. It's a shame we'll never see the latest blocks since in addition to all the new systems, the latest Rhino's are getting refitted with the upgraded GE F414s that add an extra 4,000 pounds of thrust per engine.

Hopefully with AdA involved, development of a -5 module may happen much faster than anticipated.

The main draw down for the Hornet is its weight compared to the Falcon. Even after getting the upgraded F404 engines, it only got an extra 1400 pounds of thrust in total.

I'm having this same issue with the IR Mav. I did everything I used to do such as making the Mav DDI the SOI and uncaging it. It doesn't respond to my TDC inputs and I checked my controls to see if anything reset but everything was set correctly. TDC works with my TPod just fine but not the Mav seeker.
