  1. Ok. Didn't expect you had a 144Hz monitor. Obviously the Vsync advice is then useless. I want to add since you have a new system: I don't know your skills and I'm not the expert myself, but the first thing to do is to check if the components are running correctly(everything connected right, drivers, Bios settings, windows settings). Are other (demanding) games running well? Have you ever done benchmarks(*) (e.g. CPU/GPU performance, access times/transfer rates of memory/SSD's etc.)? Everything within the normal range? I would go through your own proposed solutions afterwards About Ryzen high performance setting I found this (*2) it's about core parking issues ,but then all Ryzen people would have to have such problems as you?? Hope you can solve your problem. EDIT: Please note: 2.5.6 has introduced performance problems in many cases. So maybe it's better to test your new system with 2.5.5. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=4221489#post4221489 (*)If not: You can download this tool (https://www.userbenchmark.com) and do a benchmark, which can give you a good overview over your components performance, in relation to others. (*2) https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/a9q96u/is_the_ryzen_balanced_power_plan_still_relevant/eclsig7/ quote:"tl;dr: use balanced or ryzen balanced for Ryzen, 2nd Gen Ryzen, Threadripper, etc. It's fine."
  2. That feeling, when you spend a fortune and DCS runs not much better or even worse than before... MSI Afterburner is a (free) good tool, to see what's going on, with live graphs of fps/framtime etc. but it needs to be set up, which data it has to show. First I would try to rename your open.beta(or stable?) user folder and start with fresh one. Just to exclude, that there is some crazy setting/edit, mod, plugin, that causes your problem. Then I suggest to tick/untick Fullscreen mode and try alt-Enter in both settings and see if something changes. What monitor (max. refresh rate) do you have? Don't you experience tearing when frames go up to 120? Frames all over the place would make dcs stutter with me. So, vsync/freesync is also needed (eventually also caping frames(*3)). And the theres also all this windows stuff, like disable gaming mode, gamebar/xbox overlay, setting your power plan to maximum performance, disable fullscreen optimization for dcs.exe, exclude dcs game folder from antivirus and more. (I also tried the cpu affinity thing (incl. process lasso), but it didn't make any difference with me, but you can try (*1)) I would switch Samsung rapid mode off until you solved your problem. It uses ram to cache data. As you have 32GB it shouldn't be a problem but who knows... (*2) It's all I could think of right now. 4. Same with me, the crash seems to have something to do with the authorization. If I press cancel at the prompt, dcs starts, otherwise it crashes right after pressing "log in".
  5. me too ... Is that intended, that you cant rollback to 2.5.6.43453 ? dcs.log-20200220-190726.zip
  6. I completely reinstalled my computer 2 weeks ago (new motherboard). CPU overclocked, GPU not. I have to say that I only noticed these artifacts on the mountains near Batumi, i.e. when standing on the runway. So, not really a big problem.
  7. Everybody with performance problems could try to start dcs with new settings. I renamed my DCS.openbeta folder (in Saved games folder), adjusted the graphic settings again and DCS is so much better working for me now. Later I copied Input settings, mods, missions etc. back again. I have no numbers, but I'm on constant 75FPS (gsync) which was not the case in the past and I can even use the mirrors in the tomcat. Also the 2.5.6 Update which I made a rollback from 2 days ago, is running so far acceptable (with some fps drops at sunset). So if you're desperate enough or bored, give it a try. Hope it helps. And no, it's not because I started with fresh shaders. I deleted them already excessive in the past.
  8. Where Do you have this info from?
  9. Made a rollback to 2.5.5. tonight and thought I'd give it a try anyway and there you go. It is already set to false. So was that maybe changed to true in 2.5.6?
  10. You can use Skatezilla's Tool (under "advanced update options", choose in the middle section, branch (Open Beta) & enter last version (2.5.5.41962)): https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=160053 Before you can use it, you have to add the game folder and the DCS.openbeta-Saved-games folder under "Application settings".
  11. It gets weirder. Last night I did a rollback to 2.5.5.41962 and it was still there. Yes, both folders deleted several times. I will try setting the NVIDIA settings to default tonight, but as astazou stated, he has them already on default. So...
  12. Your "antivirus" moved your DCS executable. Go into quarantine, restore the file (DCS.exe) and then also create an exception for the dcs folder. [The best would be to remove mcaffee completely. I personally wouldn't waste my PC resources on this. But in the end it depends on your computer and internet skills]
  13. Or use Skatezilla's DCS Updater GUI Utility https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=160053
  14. Yeah, we're having a great time. :D . DISCLAIMER: I'm just kidding.
  15. This doesn't look nice... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=263406 .
  16. What can I say, the pictures speak for themselves. Deleted the metshader2 and fxo folders twice and even did a repair. No reshade or other "strange" settings in the NVida control panel. Please note also this "blue reflexion-pixel stuff" on the Fuel Shutoff & Canopy jettison Handles. DCS Settings attached... EDIT: I turned on "global cockpit illumination" and it looks even worse.
