[AKNOWLEDGED]Cars of England drive on the right side of the road
BaD CrC replied to Rudel_chw's topic in Bugs and Problems
As painful as it is to write, the british are driving on the correct side. But it wasn't their choice. It was the way the Romans then French (Normands) were doing for centuries at that time when UK was part of their colonies. It's all US fault apparently that we are now all driving the wrong way. There is an excellent article about that on wiki. Anyway, back to topic. Yeah, absolutely worthless of ED's team effort. -
Channel map installed but no missions available
BaD CrC replied to Bmeist's topic in Bugs and Problems
This is not an issue Bmeist. Just load your mission editor with the channel map and place whatever aircraft you want to fly there as a client either in flight or as taking off from ramp. ED will not create missions or instant action for every single module in every single map. -
Hi Gizmokev. We have a Gazelle squadron operating EU times with a lot of ex military guys there. A really good bunch of passionate pilots. You might like it. http://www.blacksharkden.com or Discord https://discord.gg/kaayJ5z

[REPORTED]Kh-25ML Laser Missile guidance broken again
BaD CrC replied to flanker0ne's topic in Bugs and Problems
Did today's patch fixed the problem? I am working on a large mission involving some naval warfare and without the kh25ML working, there will be not a lot of reasons to have the Ka50 out. -
I concur about the HMS. I assume everyone is holding their breath in expectation that BS3 will solve all the issues.

First day buy.Gazelle is awesome. Kiowa will be too.

Tall buildings will work better for you than tree lines. But in general, yes, AI have supernatural capabilities. We are using tree lines for ingress, not really ambush. Remember to turn off all of your lights after take off though. Hot choppers have their Nav lights and anti collision on by default and they make your chopper more visible by AI. A lot of people new to RW forget about that often. Second point is to always work at max range. HOT3 works up to 4.3 km. Use that to find your drop points. Also the Gazelle is usually firing on the move IRL. She is so tiny that it makes her really hard to hit even with the super DCS AI (Gazelle is actually great at baiting hidden units while KA50 are out there 8km away watching). But it s also harder to shoot on the move. Takes some practice.

The real life caucasus map is worthless because the DCS one is only vaguely related to the real world. Unless you are flying at 50000 ft and 1000 kt, if you want to do some serious planning and VFR flight, you should get Flappie's caucasus map: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3305623/ Flappie also have an online openlayers version that works with tablets: http://dcsmaps.com/caucasus/openlayers Really top work.

If you are a DCS Chopper Pilot looking for a place to develop and share your flying and combat skills, you should definitively check out Black Shark Den, the largest rotary wing ONLY squadron for DCS in the North America and European regions. We are offering the most structured training for helicopters, based on the US Army ATM (Aircrew Training Manuals) and are actually proud of having several active helicopter pilots both military and civilian in our instructors rank who provided their best insights. We have also talented mission designers, modders and scripters who are providing most of what is badly missing in DCS for helicopters operations to our missions. Each region (EU and US) is structured in platform based platoons with specific training and roles: Our missions are designed with helicopters operations first. We are not flying fixed wing. None. (unless we are having events with other friendly fixed wing squadrons :)). If you are still not convinced, come and say hi on our BSD Discord channel. You are always welcome.

You need Helios for this. Check out in mods and app or cockpit building
-
Guys, the reason why the topic resurfaced is only because those mods stopped working with 2.5.6. Just read the last two pages of this thread. DO NOT download and install them. It will crash your game and there is little to nothing you can do.
-
+1 VPC have them.

Yes. That did it. Thanks. This export.lua file is becoming a headache with all hose scripts fighting for the top position. Now back to SD programming!
-
Thanks for this detailed explanation! I installed your plugin and the export script. Modified the port in config file to the Streamdeck plugin default one and added the line in my scripts/export.lua. I started to add some momentary switches in my new SD profile. The interface of your plugin is awesome and I REALLY appreciate that you took some time to make video tutorials!! I watched them all. Current issue I have is that the moment I add the ExportScript.lua line in my export.lua, Helios just stop working. Is that a no go to have Helios running along with ExportScript? Thanks.

That's a really great plugin you made here ctytler. Quite powerful. Any technical reason why you didn't go the streamline way of DCS BIOS and use another export script?

Helios Running On Surface Pro 4 Help
BaD CrC replied to MudzNZ's topic in DCS World Tutorial & Help Requests
I think you need to do something similar with DCS-BIOS installed on your DCS PC to tell where DCS BIOS needs to send the info. That should be at the top of the config file in your /script/DCS BIOS. (sorry not on my sim PC right now). -
I know this had been discussed several times over the last few months but I can't find the thread again. I just want to make sure this is taken into account. Dropping a cargo in MP ends up with a floating one about 10 meters above the ground from the other players point of view. Beside the immersion killing factor, it is also a killing factor alone in game as this cargo remains collide able, so very dangerous in a tight crowded LZ. Any chance to have this corrected soon? Thanks

Helios Running On Surface Pro 4 Help
BaD CrC replied to MudzNZ's topic in DCS World Tutorial & Help Requests
Yes, it's possible, unless you are looking at exporting displays. But switches will sync remotely. You need to set the IP address of your DCS host PC in the general parameters of your Helios profile using the profile editor. -
DCS chopper mission made by DCS chopper pilots.

Runways are for beauty queens! Come and fly choppers!
BaD CrC replied to BaD CrC's topic in Squadron Recruiting
A good example of a mission made for choppers by choppers pilots! This is what we do! Come and say hi on blacksharkden.com and on our discord channel! (link on the website). -
OK. I tested it again and it is working fine. Must have screwed up something in my mission. Sorry!
-
Looks like I can keep blowing up units that are set as immortal(on). Do you guys have seen something similar in your missions?
-
Would love to see that as a module that can be added to a website. I think virtual squadrons would like to keep the control over this type of information. But that's a great idea.
-
Thank God, helo guys didn't wait for ED's willingness (or in that case complete lack of) to support choppers operations (we are still waiting for troops transport to work in MP and have to deal with the same horrible FARP for years). Using the CSAR script and a small object mod, pilots ejected over the water will show up in a life raft and pop a smoke when the SAR chopper is coming next to him. Of course this requires adding a script and a mod, but we are a very resilient community. We learnt to compromise a lot with DCS. :)
