  1. From what I can see in your XML file, it contains absolutely nothing required by OVGME and you didn't use any XML code in the file. So OVGME will just not understand what you want to do with the repo. Open the file in Notepad++ and copy paste the following: <mod_list> <mod name="1a. CSG3 Coremods" version="1.0.0" url="http://23.254.244.106/Repo/1a.%20CSG3%20Coremods.zip">1a. CSG3 COREMODS</mod> <mod name="1b. CSG3 Coremods" version="1.0.0" url="http://23.254.244.106/Repo/1b.%20CSG3%20Coremods.zip">1b. CSG3 COREMODS</mod> <mod name="1c. CSG3 Coremods" version="1.0.0" url="http://23.254.244.106/Repo/1c.%20CSG3%20Coremods.zip">1c. CSG3 COREMODS</mod> <mod name="1d. CSG3 COREMODS</mod> <mod name="2a. 93-FS Liveries" version="1.0.0" url="http://23.254.244.106/Repo/2a.%2093-FS%20Liveries.zip">2a. 93-FS Liveries</mod> </mod_list> You can complete this file on your own for the rest of the list of zip files you have (liveries). I didn't check the format of your zip files but you are aware that it requires a specific OVGME structure right? The version=x.x.x is the most important part of your XML repo because this is what will trigger the update alert in your user's community. The format must always be x.x.x with x being one single digit number. I made up the versions, assuming they are all the first one. Also, I would avoid the blanks in your file names. You have to add %20 in place of each blank in the URL. It is a bit confusing and often a source of errors.
  2. +1 for Memphis. DCS RW community is a very resilient one as we understand how much of a minority (/elite :-P) we are, but a little update on something as important for choppers as multicrew would go a long way for us! Thanks Ed!
  3. I got an error message when decompressing the mod file I download on ED's files site. Winzip is telling me that there is something wrong with the A400M_Atlas.lua: Extracting Military Aircraft Mod\A400M_Atlas.lua Irrecoverable Error: Attempt to access a file detail that isn't specified. I tried to download the file twice and still got this error. Can it be possible that the file has been somehow corrupted? The liveries file is decompressing without a problem. If you have an alternate link. It would be great. Thanks! Edit: Using latest Winrar solved the problem. Disregard!
  4. I got the three: XL, Mini, Std. Std is great for using cockpit keypad types. XL for keyboards/FM type interfaces. Mini is cool to control what the 2 others display.
  5. You just need a direct link to the .xml file. Google drive or dropbox won't work. You need to use your web hosting.
  6. Love the downflow effect on grass and trees. With the wake vortex effects now simulated in DCS, maybe an option that ED can consider for choppers?
  7. Great post Scoobie. Thanks for taking time to write it. I was also shocked that only 10% of ED's customer fly MP. When you are looking at the number of RW modules (4 RW vs 31 FW), assuming that it is more or less a representation of the share of RW pilots in DCS, that would leave only 1.3% of ED's customers flying RW in MP!!!! I now understand better why there is so little love for us. At BSD we mostly see the benefit of multicrew for three things: - Instruction: our IPs spend a lot of time training our new guys and being able to sit next to the trainee would be a revolution for this. - No respawn policy: some of our MP missions requires downed pilot to wait to be rescued and flown back to the FARP before jumping into a new chopper. Being able to actually jump in the rescue helicopter and do something while being flown back would be a real plus - Being able to fly mission with the others even if there is no task for your platoon: some missions we are flying sometimes requires, for example, UH helicopters with AH support only. OH platoon guys could still join the fun by acting as gunners on a huey or mi8.
  8. For MP you can use CTLD. You can load crates and troops. Crates can be set with different contents and unpacking them will result in different types of units deployed, whether artillery, Sams or other stuff. Not extremely realistic but that's the best we have in MP so far without the support of ED for these kind of things.
  9. Well, in that case there is a good chance that the chopper flips over at worse or your rotor tips hit the ground at best, depending on the speed and the "oblique" angle.
  10. I think this is going to be the best map ever for choppers. Considering the amount of details, it simply begs for low and slow. With the Kiowa and the Mi24 coming, I can see countless missions coming and the size is more than sufficient for our operations.
  11. Not sure what you mean by landing obliquely Kowshik. Are you talking about a rolling landing (with forward speed at touchdown) or are you talking about landing the choppa with lateral speed?
  12. CTLD is used in mission editor gmetzo. It's a script that the mission designer decides to load in his mission. If you are just flying mission, this is not a concern for you. If you are a mission designer, you need to create two triggers: ONCE TIME MORE 1 DO SCRIPT FILE Mist.lua ONCE TIME MORE 2 DO SCRIPT FILE CTLD.lua Also, for troop transport, you need to make sure that the troops groups in your mission bears the same group name than the ones in the CTLD.lua file. To edit a lua file, remember to always use Notepad++
  13. Very excited about the Hind. According to a survey we ran among our pilots, our AH platoon guys will mostly stick to AH helicopters like the Hind and are not really looking to get on the 58. It's slightly different for our UH platoon where we have quite a few pilots on Huey looking to transition to the OH platoon once the 58 is out. I am not convinced we will see the 58 before the 24 though. It sounds like ED will first have the A10C II out and maybe Mosquito out before the 24, but I can be wrong. During this time, Polychop is still looking at the 58 available before end of year.
  14. It's only my 2 cents Weta. As stated, ED never shared any market shares numbers. To add to this, it is also only my experience from squadrons. When I listened to the latest ED's interview, I was shocked to hear that only something like 10% of the DCS users were flying MP. Combining that with the niche that is RW modules (4 modules out of 32 available today), it kind of killed all my expectation about what we are all dreaming about for DCS, that is, like you rightfully mentioned Fri13, a better infantry system that works in MP, and also a set of objects in the ME that actually supports RW operations and not just those two FARPS monstrosities that we had to deal with for the last 10 years. We are all patiently looking with envy all the FW developments, hoping that one day it will benefit to the RW world. But our minority doesn't have a voice anymore in the ocean of F18/F16 kiddies. My last attempt to inquire about the possibility that the animated personnel of the super carrier could support later helicopter marshaling onboard the helicopter carriers like the Tarawa was carpet bombed by mockery (that would delay the much more important feature of having the said personnel properly salute before launch!). I am not loosing hope though. I was pleasantly surprised by the appearance of the Mi24 in a video. And yes, the Kiowa is also high on the list to allow us to come out of our ghettos and maybe reduce a bit the toxicity of the actual community against choppers.
  15. Pleasantly shocked to see a flyable demo after all this time watching 3D renderings. I would not have bet a dime on seeing something like this at least before next year! Glad be have been proved wrong!
  16. You are right QuiGon. But I think having an F16 in place of a F4 is probably not as much of a big deal as having an F16 in place of a Mi24 don't you think? I would not really be as disappointed to get a Apache or a Tiger in place of a Mi24. RW pilots have often zero interest in FW ones so that's not really comparable.
  17. Well. ED never wanted to share this. But after 11 years of flying DCS choppers in various squadron, I would say at least 80% to 90% are flying fixed wing because that's the easiest to fly and quickest way to achieve some kills. RW squadrons are extremely rare and most of the time ultra confidential. Most active are in EU and they are close to non existent in US. Don't know much about the APAC area. Since we are such a minority, we are usually keeping low profile and that doesn't help our cause. The DCS community is extremely prejudiced and toxic against whoever dare to raise their concern or even wishes for RW modules. The Mi24 and OH58D is probably the last hope to stand out a bit.
  18. My thought exactly. It really looks like any Fixed Wing project will systematically take over any on going RW one. The Mi24 was announced way before all the Fxxx modules that came up first. BS3 will suffer the same fate. Proof is that no special forum was opened when they announced BS3. It took a few hours for them to open one for the A10 v2. It looks like ED will really start to work on it only if they are completely running out of ideas to satisfy the FW community. Helicopters modules look like they are just some free time projects.
  19. By "network" feature missing you mean the repository system available on OvGME? That's the way we, and other squadrons, are managing their mods to make sure everyone is having the same ones for our missions. Will certainly look at this new software once the repository feature (or better) is available. Thanks for this great initiative.

I am confused. Did you guys developed the NS 430 that we have been using on choppers for years or did you guys only worked on the integration of the NS 430 in the C-101?
  21. Hi guys. So we had this chat with Barundus this weekend (58D instructor and PolyChop tester) for our pilots here at Black Shark Den. Getting ready for when this module drops sometime this year. 2 hours long but it's a non-stop source of amazing information (about Kiowa's operations, nothing about the module itself). If you guys are looking at flying this bird seriously in DCS and designing perfect fit missions for her, you should take the time to listen to this. Enjoy!
  22. If you can hold your breath a couple of years more (or even 3 or 4). Sure. I'd be happy to see the 24P next year already.
  23. Amazing job Dimi! Thanks for giving this to the community. This is very high quality work! Definitively at the level (if not a little bit better) than any commercial addon!
  24. Sure Bignewy! Thanks for looking at this. Problem is that track is 98 Mb. We were 20 choppers for almost 3 hours! The AI is usually working fine SP. It's only once you are in MP that it stops looking for you.
