  1. my squadron plays a Liberation system for a campaign. i may be wrong but i believe it is on a dedicated server. i am nearly certain though.
  2. lol... check
  3. cool. there is another post currently where bignewy suggested putting the downloads folder as a link.
  4. hello, good to hear you got sorted. marking your post as the solution will help other users. many users only look at solved posts for answers. many user lack the energy to go through a search for anything. many have the attention span of a flea and they just will not do it.
  5. symbolic links are, in the simplest terms, making the windows file system think D:\FOLDER is really C:\FOLDER. any content meant for C:\FOLDER will go to the linked folder. it does not get moved. it just goes there. if you install a new disk, the symbolic links need to be recreated. or at least checked they are working. (i may be misunderstanding your question though)
  6. hello, i cannot really speak to the first two of your points. i live in eastern VA, USA and my bandwidth is 1 GB FIOS. updates are huge of course. i can still do them in less than 10 minutes. this proves at least one thing is that ED does not throttle. the problem is likely your internet service or a route issue. i agree with this one. so many folks with problems deal with just barely enough resources to play the game. disk, ram, gfx etc.
  7. hello, being that this post is 1 year old, you may get better results by making a new post. share any screenshots you have of pop-up errors, post your latest dcs.log, and post your latest autoupdate_log.txt found in primary install folder \Eagle Dynamics\DCS World
  8. genius material here! thanks. i was wondering what the problem could be. i have combined arms so it was working for me. ~S
  9. another thing to try for curiosity sake is Process Monitor. it will show what is running (files loaded, etc) https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/procmon one can find out the slower files. even what shaders are being created.
  10. to include what Max states, make sure you have the appropriate folders excluded in AV. if some DLL is new, it may take time for it to be scanned.
  11. i could see the image one day. next day i could not. now i can see it.
  12. latest is 566.03. generic nvidia. you are correct that the manufacturer driver is best but also will be older. because the manufacturer rewrites the driver from nvidia for their purposes.
  13. i was postponing my candor. i agree. there are so many complaints about 24H2. just stay up to date with windows and drivers. it will eventually be stable. anyway to roll back to another version of 11?
  14. the log you provided does not show a dcs crash. it just ends. it is liable to be windows crashing. can you look in the windows event logs corresponding to when the dcs.log ends prematurely? 2024-10-25 16:16:52
  15. no problem. glad to help.
  16. hello. this does not appear to be DCS crashing. the log does not indicate it anyway. have you looked in window event viewer logs for something reported at the same time? 2024-10-24 23:12:28
  17. i have not
  18. there is a newer version of driver 566.03
  19. good to hear. let us know if there is any other anomalies.
  20. i live on the edge "Mission Impossible 7: Infected" seriously though, i shared the wrong image.
  21. factory OC has sometimes been a culprit. try with nVidia DEBUG mode. this will remove factory OC for testing.
  22. this is what i have in my defender. you should notice a faster opening time for DCS.
  23. eh? interesting. have you had this controller issue ever before? in case you are interested, this little app is good for making backups of critical DCS files in your Saved Games folder. i do the "backup input folder" and "backup config folder" each time i make a change. it works with latest build too. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3315428/
  24. @TJTAS reported! @Flappie merci beaucoup mon ami!
