  1. I find everything in the Hornet feels much easier after flying the Tomcat. The HUD alone makes all the difference. Just my $0.02 - I'm struggling to enjoy the Tomcat. I find the knobs and switches in the cockpit are small, far away, and generally hard to see/operate. I wonder if it's an actual aircraft design difference, or a different approach to cockpit modeling by Heatblur. I'll never complain about the bold-looking DDI fonts when using 4k ever again.
  2. Could be this : https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=231452
  3. Last night I was using the paveway instant action mission to practice lofting GBUs, and had no issues at all. Were you in multiplayer?
  4. Is the wire-catching logic in DCS based on the boat or the aircraft? When I'm not on speed in the Hornet, I tend to not catch the wire, yet on the Tomcat I'm never on speed but catch the wire almost every time.
  5. I feel this way about VR in DCS in general. It's just not clear enough to be enjoyable, no matter which plane.
  6. Correct on the first question, can't speak for the second one.
  7. I experience the same as you, sometimes hitting BALT/RALT only turns on AP, and not the ALT hold mode itself. Sometimes heading does nothing as well. Have you tried increasing the deadzone on your control axes? I read somewhere that if the game thinks your controls aren't perfectly zeroed, it won't engage the selected AP mode.
  8. Wow, thanks! I didn't know off/idle was a separate button, I thought it had to do with the throttle axis.
  9. Where did you find this option? I've been looking for a while.
  10. Same here. Trying to use datalink in the 5 campaign missions doesn't work for me, neither AWACS or friendlies. Works in new missions or when I edit quick launch missions.
  11. Good point - this has happened to me many times and makes a big difference.
  12. This makes sense. Sometimes in SP mode my HARM would fire at an emitter which I later discovered was basically straight below me. Obviously it didn't hit. I wonder if it makes sense to try to fire at targets in TOO mode when they're somewhat centered in the TOO display, in a vaguely similar approach to the steering dot when firing A2A missiles.
  13. I haven't tried comparing heavy vs light, but I often take most of the runway trying to bring the 18 to a halt. I remember reading the 18 has better brakes than the 16, so I don't think I'll be able to stop the 16 before running out of runway unless I correct whatever I'm doing wrong.
  14. I've never found differential braking or thrust to be useful while taxiing.
  15. Agreed. I'd pay for an updated KA or variant thereof. I really prefer single-pilot aircraft, and as far as I know there aren't any other single-seat attack helicopters.
  16. Just wait until we get the AGM-45.. It usually lands in the next town over.
  17. 10 years and I'm still a terrible BS pilot.
  18. I would only pay for a BS3 module if it had some significant new features.
  19. Same here - DCS is just too pretty in 4k compared to FPS-friendly settings in VR.
  20. We got GBUs, but they need to be lased by an external source (JTAC or buddy) for now. No JDAMs yet.
  21. I'm really hoping the KA refresh will have been worth the wait.
  22. I don't think I'm going to upgrade my regular 1080 yet. I run DCS nearly maxed out at 4k without issues, and VR is too blurry to be enjoyable for me right now.
  23. Can't get it working, it doesn't detect my ipad or DCS, and now DCS launches in a tiny window that cannot be interacted with. What a mess. edit - had to delete my config folder to get DCS working again, and lost my keybinds on all my modules.
  24. R-CTRL + enter will show you control inputs, and you will see what the trimmer is doing. This helped a lot when I was learning the shark.
