That is true and sad. Stable would be good choice if it wouldn't take so long to get support for new modules. If you want to fly new and fresh module, beta is the only way.

That's really not an answer to all this. Yes, betas are usually prone to bugs but not like this which makes the naval operations pretty much unplayable. They should have tested this thoroughly and then release it. Looking at HB's record of fixing some of the bugs, this might take a while. No, I'm not blaming this on HB exclusively, ED should have waited until the whole package is ready.

It introduced more bugs than it fixed. The whole naval aviation is a big mess now.

The whole game is a mess after the latest patch. Sounds are relocated (why?) which makes mods useless, lightning overdone with green stars and cat launches all ****ed up. Default sounds are pretty awful. I'm ready to give up everything else but not those since ED can't make them realistic.

+1 Same here, happened twice with Tomcat. Couldn't also attach to catapult.

Yes, soundmods like Hornet works since it's on Sounds folder but I can't get Tomcat soundmods to work since they are on their own folder on Coremods. Tried it by setting up the proper folders in Saved Games but no luck.

Yeah. Internal lights are pretty messed up at dark conditions. You have to set the lights to 1 or 2 to make them look ease on eyes.

Yes, improved city lights but not afterburner and navigation lights, reflections etc.

I was looking for an actual lighting improvements. To actually see something on night or evening and lights like in that 2020 trailer. :(

Okay, I admit I was wrong. It's still there but the amount of it depends on aircraft. Hornet makes the dust quite easy but Tomcat or Mirage not so easy. I still think the dust effect appears way too low.

Thought this too. Couldn't get low enough without crashing. If this effect is still there, it sure wasn't set so low earlier.

I remember that Flaming Cliffs and DCS used to have ground dust that comes from aircrafts engines jet wash when flying on low. Nowadays I can't get this effect to induce at all. I thought it was pretty realistic and today it looks pretty dull without it these days. Any chance to get it back?

F-16 has some sounds with same file names so you can pretty much replace them with this mod if you like it.

I'm a bit lost with this F-14 digitalization. So with this DFCS, it basically means it had fly-by-wire system, thus preventing it from performing moves like overstressing, over G etc. with the previous analog system?

I wonder why HB hasn't released any pics from A model. Surely the model is there with P&W engine nozzles. So how come there aren't any? :dunno:

Indeed, it's just a movie which was quite big mess after they started to edit it. Lots of footage and not much sense so they had enormous task to try compiling it to something that made some sense. There were footage shot with actors in the back flying real but either they were womiting or lighting etc was just bad so they did them in mockup cockpits on studio. Just like those aerial shots show planes so close together, since in reality the required safety bubble would just show small dark object on lenses so that would not be so cool either. No idea why they deciced to film Goose dying over water instead of dry but I guess they wanted to it to happen since they are navy pilots and all and the rest is just movie edit magic.

Original effect was horrible and the current one is still far too unrealistic and poor when compared to Hornet.
