You honestly think those effects look great? Look basically every else module in DCS with plane that has afterburner and compare those effects to F-14 and tell me that they don't look better. Viggen has this problem too which is Heatblurs product too.

More important thing is that they look awful. So crappy compared to Hornet or Mirage for example. Please HB, do something about them. Add proper compression rings etc.

I gotta say, it is hard to fly without modern HUD. I've been playing flight sims for over 20 years now, starting from early days Amiga games to PC's Flight Simulator series to Falcon, Il-2 ww2 simulators and while those planes didn't have HUDs, flying the F-14 in FCS is the hardest thing to fully master. Reading speed gauge is hard work, just as altitude. AoA is just under control. Somehow flying with HUD just makes things so much easier and comfortable. I absolutely would not mind to have an F-14D module which would be the definitive version of this work of art.

Hope they look into this and fix it.

Me too. It's been like that since the release day. I wish it would work just like on other modules. Pretty useless now like this.

Maybe it's currently just a spot, an empty slot reserved for something else coming in future since Jester doesn't reply ever when selecting that command.

Tried that, worked just fine on small movements but more agile ones caused too violent movement. -15 works much smoother.

I have X-55 too and this really makes flying smoother. Never would have thought so. I tried various positive angles at the beginning of F-14 ride and with -15 it feels more natural. Thanks.

This +1000000 I just wonder why pretty much no one else has pointed this out. Those afterburner effects haven't improved at all since footage seen on 6 months ago. AB effects and sounds are pretty much the only things that need to be improved since pretty much else is quite there. Okay Jester could talk more on certain situations.

My humble apologies to Heatblur. They have done superb job with their module. Just stupid rivalry and harshness between Finns and Sweds. Finns don't make this kind of stuff at all which is sad. Can't argue that HB's has been very responsive to feedback. Btw Gripen is great plane.

I think sonic boom was gone over a year ago. I've been reading this forum's F-14 discussion for about 6 months now and HB sounds pretty arrogant firm, when compared to ED's Hornet for example. They just think it's okay like this and not listen to paying customers. Kind of bad business to me.

Yes. Make sure that helmet textures are included on description.lua file.

Btw. Mavericks helmet isn't black, it's dark blue.

I noticed that trim also has something to do with it. If I have problems with salute, trimming down and launching with idle power works.

How often do you use the parking brake on flight? Not a biggie to use mouse and click once.
