It is still there. Its the AIR-AIR telemetry "TL" mode for the radar . The other button is the "(C + M or SW) R" , for quick selecting Air2Air guns and IR missile. If you look for "TL" and "(C + M or SW) R" in bindings, you should find it. With (C + M or SW) R be careful that you pick the right one, there is also another assignment for disengaging the mode again. Regards, Snappy

Hi, what is the reason behind the fuel system sequence switch? The manual says „lisse“ is for clean aircraft, and „bidons“ is for external tanks config. However in the actual fuel tank sequence order listed, both switch positions still seem to use external tanks first anyway and differ only in the sequence the various internal fuel tanks are used. Is it only Center of gravity optimisation ? Or what is the „lisse“ position for if it still uses external tanks? regards Snappy

need evidence F1 EE flight model tweaks coming?
Snappy replied to Harley Davidson's topic in DCS: Mirage F1
When you write „outturn“ , do you mean literally, as in „generate a higher turnrate“ or as a figure of speech as in „reach an advantageous position by other means“? Regards, Snappy -
Serious question: Why did you buy the SE then in the first place ? Just interested in your reasoning behind it. was it the -flashy-new-thing - feeling?

Hey, thanks a lot! I had only looked in the module manual for info about this. But I see now that the real world manual contains much more in-depth information. kind regards, Snappy

No, the HOTAS bindings may work, but if you assign keybinds to your actual keyboard , the functions do not work. I don't know , feel free. I wouldn't change back to ST for such an issue, but if you need it , give it a try.

The keys/keybinds for HUD brightness increase/decrease have no effect in the MT OB. If you press them HUD brightness doesn’t change.

F-4E Air to Air Weapons/Capabilities Discussion
Snappy replied to Aussie_Mantis's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
More important than your reputation though: Did you get the appropriate kill markings on your jet? :) -
While we are at this topic, I have one more more related question: While in normal mode , (not approach mode)the HUD pitch ladder (while not necessarily aligned with real horizon as mentioned above ) seems to show accurately your airplane attitude when referencing the radar reference symbol, ie. for example putting the radar reference on the 20 degree pitch up line exactly matches your gyro main attitude indicator showing you at 20 deg nose up. The manual seems to agree and also says about the sight: Attitude scale: the attitude reticle consists of a main bar (horizon) and marks (attitude scale) that move in roll and pitch with respect to the radar reference. When the normal attitude reticle is selected with the sight selector, the attitude reticle provides the same attitude indications as the spherical indicator, in a scale of 1/5 in pitch. Now my question Why is the radar reference symbol showing correct aircraft pitch values when compared against the spherical main attitude indicator, when the same manual also says : Radar reference: it is composed of two horizontal bars and a vertical bar, it is set 5° below the fuselage reference line (FRL) and shows the radar line. Shouldn’t the attitude , as seen on the HUD , be 5 degrees less than on the main ADI, since it is not showing the aircrafts actual fuselage pitch? Regards, Snappy

Ok, got it! thanks alot for replying Vibora!

Will the depression tables for non-french unguided&guided bombs be added in a future version of the manual? The current one still only has tables for the Matra rockets and SAMP bombs. Regards Snappy

Why don't you take a look in the manual? It has a short page on basic weapon employment steps for various weapons on p.184. Your actual keybinds and the amount of them will depend on whether you to shoot the guns with radar ranging and lead calculation or just basic mode without. But do some mininmal search yourself, I don't have the time to dig it out now.

F-4E Air to Air Weapons/Capabilities Discussion
Snappy replied to Aussie_Mantis's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
Hm not sure I understand what you are trying to say.Can you explain please? Do you think the gun pods could not be used for air-to-air? Or that no gun pods were carried at all by F-4B/J? I don’t think the statement “The F-4B and F-4J cannot engage in a gunfight” is correct in that absolute way you put it. The Zuni rockets were also not carried for air to air, still an A-4 Skyhawks shot down a Mig with them AFAIK.It’s not the norm, but “cannot” . I don’t agree. -
No. It's not fixed. Not sure if it ever was. There are several reports on it in the M2000 and bugs sections. The keybinds for it still don't work, on latest OB and MT version. Only clicking on the actual HUD brightness control thumbwheel in the cockpit works in adjusting HUD brightness

It was your own choice to hand over your money early, without even an announced release date , so…

What does your gaming chair have to do with it? Also, how did you manage, before we got the Jester speedcalls? I mean it’s subjective opinion , but „necessity“?No. Nice to have? Yes.

Like gortex said, you can't use the AI as a valid reference, as the AI is nowhere, nowhere near an even semi-capable human opponent from a skillset point of view . The only thing the AI has going for it , are the highly unrealistic simplified flight models it uses, further disqualifiying it from having any usability as a performance reference point.

Yes, I look forward to the Kola map too! It will be a very good setting for the Viggen :)) -
Viggen still in Early Access 6 years later
Snappy replied to Glowingheat's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
There are still quite a few bugs&issues , have your own look into the bugs -section of this forum. Also there is still the PBR Texture overhaul of the cockpit and the accompanying Draken AI to implement as far as I’m aware. Dont get me wrong , in comparison to other EA modules the Viggen is already quite feature rich and some of those features are really very generous gifts from heatblur, which certainly far surpass the scope of what is the standard / average for DCS modules . Also have a look at the AJS 37 Parts of the heatblur trello map if you haven’t already: https://trello.com/b/HsMiJggJ/heatblur-public-roadmap regards. snappy -
[BUG] Suddnly turn out AOA Indicator at night
Snappy replied to medamayaki's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yes you re right, at indexer brightness value 5 or below the indexer doesn't show correctly at night . Apparently its an old bug. See also : @Silhou is the AOA indexer bug (not showing correctly at night when AOA indexer brightness value in cockpit is set to 5 or less ) tracked? The linked thread never got an official reply and neither did this one about most likely the same issue. Regards, Snappy -
Will the procedures section of the online manual be further expanded in the future? Because as of now for both, Pilot&RIO they still don’t continue past poststart of the engines, which is kind of sparse for an official module and not everyone has access to the real life NATOPS, which I think is also at least officially still restricted in distribution, but I might be wrong on the that. Thanks and regards, Snappy

Procedures for instrument shore based approaches?
Snappy replied to Snappy's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Hi Bremspropeller, thank you very much for your reply. I am familiar with the Tacan / Instrument approach procedures and how to read the approach charts and fly them. I was really more looking for how things were officially done in the real aircraft in regards to speeds and configuration. Being fully configured and on speed/AOA passing the FAF sounds sensible. You can freestyle the other parts of course ,but it would be interesting to know how the aircraft is operated authentically, which speeds were typically flown on the initial approach segments or during racetrack patterns while descending etc.. Still thanks for putting in much effort into such a detailed reply! kind regards, Snappy -
Are / were there official procedures for flying land-based instrument approaches like TACAN approaches or PAR? In case weather didn't not permit the classic visual/overhead break pattern. Specifically, when to configure the aircraft at which point on the instrument approach or which speeds to fly on the different segments. Couldn't find anything in the HB manual under procedurs and don't have the actual NATOPS. Thanks a lot in advance, Regards, Snappy
