It won't change accuracy, the bomb/missile is just chasing that little red dot. It will just change the ease of employing the weapons, and not having something/one else to blame if they miss. :)

Aha! mfuzing was the issue. I honestly thought they were just broken, spent ages trying to get these to work, somehow missed that despite multiple videos and several attempts! Thank you sir!

OK, I was under the impression that GBU-12s were broken in the current beta? (Laser mavericks see the laser and work perfectly, switch to GBU 12 with same code, and it's permanently Xed out and can't fire). Am I missing something? Or are you guys on stable branch?

I'm still curious about flying a simpit in VR. Muscle memory + no distractions.... So tempting to build one, if I had space and funds. (Space more of an issue...would have to get rid of my pinball machine which I certainly don't want to do)

Quick question I couldn't find in the past 30 or so pages... do the FCU's have an on/off switch? Or are they "Always on, charge before use" devices? Either way, I am moving form "On Hold" to the the "Instant Buy" list, have funds set aside for it when you are ready! :D

Question...anyone get a working jtac with the f18? Trying to tell if it's the mission generator or me, can't get laser guided munitions on target.

Awesome. Needed to tweak the initial loadout it gave me (All laser guided munitions, no JTAC or other planes to designate targets) But otherwise, very nice!

I had no idea Cross wind would show up like that, nor that Cage would re-center it. I'll try that next time I notice it happening. (My memory says it was the whole hud, but we'll see next time it happens)

This happens to me once in awhile, where the HUD is projected off center. Starts mission fine, then slowly seems to slide to one side or the other, so I have to lean to the left or right to see the Hud. And then, just as randomly, lines back up center. Re-centering my pilot view doesn't fix it. Anyone else experience it?

Get the F-18. I haven't played any sims in 10 years, but before that had hundreds of hours in an F-16 and F-22. DCS is a different beast entirely than those games, but so much more rewarding. F-18 is a joy to fly, and I have little doubt that you will be taking off and landing right away in it. (As soon as you learn where the flaps and gear is anyway). Then it's just getting better at it, and learning more things. "Oh, I can land on an airfield? Now to learn to land on the boat". or "Now to learn to navigate" or blow stuff up, or.... yea. Get the F-18, skip the trainers, and have fun.

So looking forward to this. Every single time I have to click the landing gear in the F-18 I think "I wish I had Point Ctl so I could use my left hand and keep my right hand on the stick..."

Hah, I've noticed the roll as well. Figured it was an update. I didn't mind it, just meant I actually had to trim for a change.

... Well then. That explains some things... :doh:

For context, I get one game night a week, couple hours. Last week had this amazing mission...took off from the Stennis, hold near boats while some Harriers did a SEAD mission on a sam site. Had a dogfight and got a kill and assist (lost my wingman). Did the rest of the mission solo with a bombing run, a 3rd mig shot down, and a helicopter guns kill leading to my first ICLS low visibility carrier landing. Such a high! This week? Mission to scramble to defend the Stennis. 4 F18s take off while I start up, then me and my wingman take off. Shortly thereafter, killed by missile Tried again. Took two out, killed by missile Tried again. Got one, killed by missile. Tried another mission with fewer bad guys. Me and Wingman vs 2 Mig 29s. Hit one Mig, killed by missile. *sigh* Now, part of this exercise was to practice using the countermeasures systems...set up the programs, but given my HOTAS limitations (Thrustmaster HOTAS X) I set the countermeasures to auto. Doesn't seem like auto does anything at all. Time for another two modifier key binding to remember for dispensers I guess...

Are you meaning using the radios, or using the comms shortcuts (Backslash - F1, -F11 and their sub menus?)

F-18 or F-14 would get my vote since you want Naval, However Mirage would get my vote if you were OK skipping naval aspects.

It's strange, I have a non-sensacle dislike of the Hornet from childhood because it replaced the F-14. I knew it didn't make sense, but it was formed early and has stuck with me for years. I got the F-18 in DCS because it was the most modern jet I could do everything I wanted to do with. And now I love it, and would pick it over the F-14 anyday. (Still may buy the F-14, but new HOTAS comes first)

Oh awesome! I no longer have to replace the darn F-18 music every time I update the game! (Brass instruments are not my thing, but love the wallpaper matching my plane)
