  1. Side note, thinking about it I feel like maybe LTWS can guide AMRAAMs. If it can't, it's a software barrier vs a technical one. The only difference between RWS(LTWS) and TWS is that TWS forces a smaller scan volume and has auto scan centering; otherwise a trackfile is a trackfile. While I can see how the computer might automatically go to TWS when launching an AMRAAM from RWS, I don't see why we couldn't switch back to RWS and still guide the missile and also get the normal HUD cues for a guided launch when an L&S is designated in RWS. Again though, maybe there's an artificial software barrier; Idk. Hope that all makes sense.
  2. When A/G Ready is false for the JDAM or JSOW (e.g. master arm SAFE), the indication is properly X'd out on the STORES page. However, the indication (e.g. J-82) is not X'd out on the HUD even when it is on the STORES.
  3. [NEED TRACK REPLAY]JDAM/JSOW can be released before alignment complete Before alignment is complete with the JDAM/JSOW (even if other constraints are met like master arm), the indication is X'd out on the STORES format, indicating A/G Ready is false. However, you can still drop the bombs. I believe this is a bug and they should not be usable until alignment is complete.
  4. I certainly agree. The good news is there aren't many weapons left to implement, so hopefully at the latest by then when the Walleye, SLAM, etc are done they will go back and start completing stuff such as the AA radar, targeting pod, JDAM, and the plethora of other half completed things.
  5. Agreed. RWR is useless when maneuvering without this, if anything it causes more confusion.
  6. I don't think the JHMCS should be affected by the REJ switch as that's controlled in the HMD format (SUPT menu). The fact the data freezes is very weird though, I doubt that's right. See what ED says.

    exit AACQ

Yeah AACQ is bugged overall really bad, Wags said it'd be revisited so this should be added at some point when they fix it. (In fact iirc he said it'd be revisited in response to a thread about exactly what you're saying, using the pinky button to exit.)
  8. If anything in real life it's easier because the fuzes are set on the bombs themselves. But I mean this is a fairly modern fighter jet, it doesn't surprise me it has a well designed user interface.
  9. There is a depress in real life, according to ED.
  10. (Not an SME or dev just sharing what I think/know) - I believe we're supposed to be able to bring up the RDR ATTK and STORES via the Sensor Control Switch. Azimuth/Elevation as well (first Stores, then can switch for Az/El). Also bringing up and swapping the HSI / SA on the MPCD. - Target designation with the JHMCS will be done via the air-to-ground radar's Air-to-Ground Ranging (AGR) function I believe. You will assign TDC to the HUD/HMD (they're sorta the same thing in the Hornet avionics), then just point where you want and TDC depress. - I don't think the FLIR format can be accessed with the HOTAS.

  12. Oh, so this circles indicate onboard contribution? That is interesting. I wonder if this was something added with the Super and/or the newer radar, or do you know if it's also in the Legacy with our radar?
  13. Both, 50-50. I like the Hornet partially because it's designed to do both, with very in depth and capable systems for both AA and AG.
  14. It can be. What NineLine means is that the Spotlight search is stabilized to a certain area in space, not relative to the aircraft like the manual TWS scan centering will be. So if you put the Spotlight search 30° right of the plane and then turn 10° left, the search will be 40° to the right then.
  15. While I think this is supposed to be a thing in all search modes, I'm guessing this will be implemented at the same time as TWS, since a major part of TWS is some advanced scan functionality.
  16. Definitely, definitely not. The Hornet has come a long way but has a long way to go still. Tons and tons of features we haven't gotten yet. I believe as Cow said ED is working on more complex stuff such as more A/A radar functions, A/G radar functions, and I'm guessing either finishing HARM with then Pullback feature and Pre-Briefed mode or finishing up the features of the JDAM / JSOW.
  17. He is specifying the E-variant, I.e. laser variant I.e. variant that does not use the FOV switch. Is it really correct behavior for the 65E?
  18. On the helmet mounted display, the A/A weapon indication is never crossed out when it should be (i.e. master arm SAFE). Additionally, the AIM-7's LOFT flight mode and the AIM-120's VISUAL mode is not written underneath the indication when it is supposed to be. HMD AA weapon indication bug.miz.trk
  19. Because it's implemented and it works. I guess ED just doesn't want to showcase it until we get the A/G radar and its SEA mode, but R/BL works with any Target (TGT) designation. It doesn't care what it comes from, it's just asking for coordinates.
  20. In NAV master mode with TDC assigned to the FLIR format, Cage/Uncage both boresights the FLIR and toggles caged/uncaged velocity vector operation on the HUD. HUD FLIR FOV bug.miz.trk
  21. Not entirely true. Square is anything but hostile. The half circle over the TD box is when an offboard source also identifies the trackfile as a friendly.
  22. In NAV master mode with the A/G gun selected, the mode of either "CCIP" or "MAN (depression setting)" is still displayed. AG gun HUD bug.miz.trk
  23. I agree. This makes sense.
  24. Yeah what mu said. Link-16 = the network MIDS = Multifunction Information Distribution System, the radio the Hornet uses to connect with Link-16
  25. At the moment, you can still release the bomb even when it doesn't say RDY. The indication is correct; the functionality is not. (Although, the "JDAM" indication on the HUD should be crossed out when not RDY and RDY should also be false when master arm=SAFE. I think the weapon on the STORES format should also be crossed out when not RDY as it is with most other weapons.)
