I suspect it will be plug and play but have drivers to get the best from it. But I will be keen to hear how your stuttering goes. I am at 1.0 PD for 2.1 and 1.7 for 1.5.8 MSAA is not an option anymore for 2.1 with defered shading. The oculus tray tool or the oculus debug tool will let you set a PD independently nd overwrite the game setting if required https://developer.oculus.com/documentation/pcsdk/latest/concepts/dg-debug-tool/

What motherboard do you have? IIRC an M.2 drive will operate fine but slower if used as a normal SSD Using it with NVME is utilising the PCI(E) bus Using 2x M.2 will need to disable 2x SATA This is something I found on the net I would study the mobo manual and see what it says about it :)

I noticed some small reductions in RAM prices. Unfortunately the biggest discounts are on 64Gb kits:mad:

If funds allow the 8600K will be more future proofed and it has 6 physical cores so your PC will be faster and more productive with apps that scale with multicore and multitasking in general :) Its my chip of choice for my new Christmas rig :thumbup:

For flying in DCS the Jetseat is huge in helping to add another sensory input and so reduce motion sickness. It was my biggest fear TBH but my first night I was slaloming the huey around power pylons without ill effects. Alt enter will fill your desktop so stretches the left eye view to fill the screen. Or you can stream to another PC so the kids can watch. Oh and to avoid kids under 3 keep your pants on in future ;)

The 8600K is a nice chip but my recent costings with a midrange z370 board and 16Gb DDR4 ram is £680 ATM. Are you using compression fittings and what will you replace to fit the 1080Ti ? New tubing, new joints. Is all the pipework the same diameter? Can you retrofit an aircooling solution to the 980 ?

I have 2x4gb one brand 2x 2Gb of another brand running in dual channel working fine but you won't get to use an XMP profile.

Very nice looking list my friend. Can I ask what practical difference between the Prime A and the Maximus X apart from a couple of extra's on the I/O both have the same chipset and presumably BIOS And is your thermal paste better than liquid metal for delidding ?
