For my 4000th post on this forum I wanted to say a big thank you to the community. From the early days and the help and encouragement from people who I respect like Mustang and WarriorX and all the stuff that goes on in real life that we tolerate and endure like redundancy, births deaths and marriages, this forum and community has been a fairly stable place to retreat too. All the hype and anquish waiting for module releases, bug fixes and possibly the high water mark the release of NTTR and DCS2.0 So thank you for the sharing and caring, the laughs and the tears, the frustration and elation and the pure joy of living in a time when we can fly in VR with realistic planes and choppers All the best to you the ED community

Cheers I will try that. Does the Lock light, light up when lock is achieved?

North Korean Assault (a crazy video series)
Cibit replied to Silver_Dragon's topic in Screenshots and Videos
B52's and F4's attacking Haiphong Harbour Vietnam. North Vietnam have Mig 21 and Mig 15 with SA2 and SA3 do they exist in DCS? A more realistic attack would be to use A6's :) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Pocket_Money Nice Video SilverDragon:thumbup: -
I used to use it all the time. It used to be called Shadowplay and was excellent. Then it broke and was renamed and is not worth the disk space it takes up. Windows 10 has an ingame recording tool. If you don't have windows 10 then try OBS its free https://obsproject.com/

What do I need to Max settings in VR
Cibit replied to strikerdg's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I got 90 FPS in MP Nevada last night with shed loads of units. I am happy;) -
Hi I use radar to find and fix then just keep knocking the distance dial till I am on 10, lock up the bogey when I get lock and range signs lit I uncage the seeker and fire. The reticule moves when you uncage the seeker

I am new to VR and I want to choose a GPU...
Cibit replied to OrionAstronaut's topic in Virtual Reality
I am curious about how much work the Ti does. my 1080 is running at about 70 - 90 % whilst flying with moments of 98% in busy situations. Obviously if the opening poster can afford a Ti go for it but if not a 1080 or 1070Ti may be the best bang for buck :) -
I am new to VR and I want to choose a GPU...
Cibit replied to OrionAstronaut's topic in Virtual Reality
Hi I run a 1080 and it is awesome for dcs with fast ram and fast cpu I have a PD of 1.5 everything high and 16x AF I have taken a screeny of my settings to give you an idea of what to expect. Tonight I will be flying with my buddies in the 229th and its my first MP since I built my new rig. Its possible I will need to dial down some settings for MP but hopefully not too much My rig is in signature :) -
It will only work if you tell it where to look. In the root DCS directory there is(should be) a text file called dcs_local_source the entry in mine for 2.2 Open Alpha is "H:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World" which is pointing to my 1.5 instal :)

I never got very high GPU usage with an old locked i5@ 3.6 but changing to an 8600k@5.2 enables the card to run at close to 100% in 2.2 and the CPU barely breaks sweat. New CPU/mobo will see you get the best out of your card.:)

Kernel memory leaking on Intel processors
Cibit replied to StandingCow's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
From Softpedia news http://news.softpedia.com/news/microsoft-confirms-meltdown-and-spectre-updates-slow-down-windows-pcs-519297.shtml I wonder how it will be for gaming servers ? -
Fingers crossed mate :) I have set in motion the return of my board. I love Amazon returns. I click a box in my orders give a reason from a drop down menu. I chose "item does not work" they send me a new one free of charge and I have till the 8th of February to send it back. So I will not have a stripped down rig waiting for an RMA:thumbup:

Do you mean headphones? I have these http://www.techradar.com/reviews/pc-mac/peripherals/speakers-and-headphones/headsets-and-headphones/sennheiser-pc-330-g4me-913954/review Although the rift has excellent built in headphones I hardly use my Sennheisers :)
-
At the moment. 1.5 is Caucasus only 2.2 is Nevada and Normandy. Adding anything to 1.5 will not work. Also be sure to use the Module manager this seems to be the recommended method for installing modules and activating or deactivating:)

Hello Tyger I have not see you post in years, have you been away or do you frequent other parts of the forum to me :) Oh and thanks for the linkage

H:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World 2 OpenAlpha\bin then find the exe Obviously whichever drive you have DCS installed and this is the open alpha as example
-
I had that problem. At first I thought it was a USB problem but using it in another system had the same results. I RMA'd it and had a return in about a week. Hope your warranty is still valid :)

I can see the difference running at 4.7 and 5.2. Not neccessarily in fps figures 45 ( and 90) are what we look for in the rift. But smoothness is more pronounced if that makes sense. Faster RAM does make a difference but when your pushing 5.2 Ghz on 6 cores it will be negligable If you can afford it do it, bet your not dissapointed ;)
