104th Phoenix - Operation Longbow - Dynamic PvP Mission
Cibit replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in Multiplayer
Thank you, it was a long time ago when I last tried to join your server but 6Gb Ram didn't cut it :) -
Ok thats a good plan. One thing though, most motherboards ship with a software overclocking app. For Asus it is AI suite. There you can let the pc overclock itself and it will keep the best stable clock it can run with. The board I first installed had to be returned due to faulty dimms but I could get the software to run 5.2Ghz. The replacement board will only get to 4.7 stable using the software. But it is 1 click tuning and you don't have to do anything :)

104th Phoenix - Operation Longbow - Dynamic PvP Mission
Cibit replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in Multiplayer
Hi, can I ask if this is a persistent campaign or is it reset at regular intervals? Showtime posted about it on the 229th forums and talked specifically about a Saturday night start. Also can one just join at anytime or is there a signup thread ? Thanks :) -
Wolf you have a rig to be envious of. I agree with you about FPS and benchmarking, they can vary widely. I personally only use them for making sure a new system is running as it should and that the temps are where they should be. Probably a better benchmark for you is the browser based one from http://www.userbenchmark.com/ run that and it will give a good indication of how each major component is running compared to the baseline. These Coffee lake chips are very overclockable. I am running 5.2 without issues. Any advice just ask. There are 3 of us with Coffeelakes that hang around the hardware thread that will be only happy to help in any way

Help needed getting up to speed on the mission editor
Cibit replied to BlacleyCole's topic in Missions and Campaigns
To be honest I would be hard pressed for both time and knowledge of the triggers/arguments needed for this to happen. I can let you have a copy of the 229th SOP and the Uh-1h dash 10 if you need em. Also as an Aardvark mechanic you may want to check this out https://forums.mudspike.com/t/aardvark-and-aardvark-jokes/5499/21 :) And seriously you might want to think about signing up at the 229th have a wee look at the link in my sig -
Help needed getting up to speed on the mission editor
Cibit replied to BlacleyCole's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Wait till we get multicrew and join the 229th. Then you can have proper lessons from proper pilots :) Oh and maintaining a hover for 10 minutes is asking a lot from even the most experienced pilots :music_whistling: -
I just got the free version. It may be that you get a more comprehensive suite when you buy the software. Thanks anyway I was interested as I got into the top 96% with my rig and yours should be so much faster :)

Version 1.58: Huey is very delicate, SOS PLEASE !!!

No time to look at your track but, have you a hardware conflict. I use the grey slider on my Warthog throttle but have to use page up/down to start. Sometimes I forget to move slider and have a loss of rpm as my throttle decides to roll back:) -
Don I am the same. I have 69.1 Gb free space on my Eagle Dynamics SSD. I can move 13 Gb of mods that I use with OVGME and I guess removing all the plane modules from one or another of the installs will free up 10.2 Gbs Leaving 8Gb short. Hmmm maybe I need to loose all aircraft modules and stick em on a spare drive:huh:

Wolf please do me a favour and run the orange room benchmark and post your results please. I would like to compare the results of the better chip and GPU compared to mine https://www.3dmark.com/vrpor/196256 11 744 is result @4.7Ghz

OOOH this still works Yaay So Mbot new goal, incorporate ASW into Dynamic campaign ;)

2016 Hardware Benchmark - DCS World 1.5.x
Cibit replied to tiborrr's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I posted this in the wrong thread  I ran your mission with high settings and got 186 FPS pretty constant. Trying to record caused some freezing due to a poor performing SSD This was run at 4.7Ghz because I don't think a 5.2 overclock was representative of most builds -
http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-42774882 Nvidia is trying to do something about the miners:)

2016 Hardware Benchmark - DCS World 1.5.x
Cibit replied to tiborrr's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi Madmike, it would be great to have a standardised mission we could benchmark off, probably with a free module so new users could get a grasp of how the sim will run on their machine. What is the software you use for the information displayed:) -

Your running windows 10 ? I have the patch and I can not discern any noticable decrease in performance. I do tweak a lot though. Do you use XMP for your RAM? -
I love these problems. It focuses the mind and allows the deletion of Gigs worth of rubbish. I smiled as I erased my BMS folder :megalol:
-
Fitted the new motherboard. All good now (so far) the Ram boots in dual channel mode and works off the XMP profile fine. Just updated BIOS to 0606 Now I can start to really get to grips with this board. Wonder if I can get 5.3 stable enough for gaming. One bad thing, I ran out of Kryonaught and had to make do with some old arctic silver. Temps are slightly up on previous board. May have to get more Thermal Grizzly :) Idle temps are @23C UserBenchmarks: Game 115%, Desk 95%, Work 81% CPU: Intel Core i5-8600K - 114.7% GPU: Nvidia GTX 1080 - 130.1% SSD: SanDisk SSD Plus 240GB - 72.7% SSD: Corsair Force LS 120GB - 33% SSD: Crucial M4 64GB - 56.6% HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F1 1TB - 41.5% HDD: Maxtor 6L160M0 164GB - 27.4% HDD: Maxtor 6L160M0 164GB - 23.1% RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000 C15 2x8GB - 99.7% MBD: Asus PRIME Z370-A Thats my stock run

You probably need to run the registry fix for each module Check that page https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/ and see the section I have a serial number for the module but I can't install it via Module Manager?

TGP: Huge performance cost in VR
Cibit replied to EmilDamian's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have not noticed a big drop but I fly the A10 infrequently these days. Obviously the card is pushing more pixels. Maybe you need to dial down a setting, I might be wrong but I don't think your Xeon will have enough grunt to max out your 1080 with 95+% usage. My old system would never get about about 70% usage when I was using a 3.6Ghz CPU Use the performance tab in taskmanager to see what components are running the most. Welcome to the forums too :)
