  1. It seems like the Steam version is now worth more than the standalone version. https://steamcommunity.com/games/223750/announcements/detail/1706202272929081700
  2. Are they also going to add new functional switches like for the hydraulic pressure selector?
  3. That is interesting. I have bought the Ka-50 on Steam. After the first activiation it said 11 activations remaining. Does that mean I have to buy this module again, when I use too many activations?
  4. The shaking animations of the F14 look very realistic. Good job!
  5. But why?
  6. The pilot on that screenshot looks badass. Kudos! :D
  7. Ne, sonst wäre ich doch schon längst tot in diesem fliegenden Sargnagel. :D
  10. Guys, Afghanistan is the place where Rambo III took place! That means lots of helicopter action for us.
  11. Using MAC as a standalone would be crazy, because you could not benefit from the content in DCS any more.
  12. Of course there has been air combat in that region. Once the Syria map releases I can finally use my Mirage in historical combats. Other aircraft can participate as well. Compared to the Georgia and Nevada maps it offers much more historic and fictional settings. And you certainly do not have to be Arab or Israeli to enjoy this map. lol Edit: I am also excited about the Ramat David airport. Probably there will be some interesting missions inflicting this airbase.
  13. Let Google translate that site for you: https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fugra-media.ru%2F2018%2Fproekt-blizhnij-vostok%2F
  14. Of course you can use third party software, but it is a little bit cumbersome to start them each time, especially when you have to restart them after each restart of DCS to avoid bugs. I have used these kind of emulating software for a long time, but then I got kind of tired of them. Being able to assign one button to multiple functions would be great, because it would make it possible to use a single button for a switch. Sometimes the devs allow certain key bindings to be used as switch buttons, but in other cases you have to use different key bindings for different states of a switch. So in the worst case you have to use two or even more buttons for only one switch, which is too excessive when your HOTAS only has buttons and no real switches (like my T16000).
  15. It looks like all guns and cannons in DCS are using tracer ammunition, which makes things much easier not only for the shooter but also for the target. So I am often able to evade those bullets when I see them them comming. Additionally in DCS you can tell which type of unit is shooting at you from the color of the rounds (e.g. white rounds for aircraft, red rounds for infantry and green rounds for tanks). Is this something you can also expect in real life military? I do appreciate visible projectiles sometimes, but on the other hand it might not be very realistic.
  16. This thread made me curious about the F5. What is so special about it compared to other aircraft?
  17. Steam is great, because it is so comfortable and chic! And I doubt that ED has to pay 40% of their income to Steam. That would be way too much.
  18. To get more attention of the ED-team we should start a poll: Is fixing the bugs of the replay tracks more important for you than all the other issues in DCS (like fixing the Hornet)? ( ) Yes ( ) No I would certainly choose (x) Yes. :music_whistling:
  19. Right, it is the Deployment campaign. I have already tried to keep more distance to that helo, but then this sneaky bastard vanished somewhere behind the hills. :D Anyway, now I managed to win this scenario following the tips of Baaz, which allowed me to make safer steep dives. So this time I did not reduce my collective too much when flying with low speed, which helped me to avoid rotor vibrations as well. One thing I recently noticed is that the mission description recommends to consult the "altitude-velocity envelope limitations" of the Ka-50. I am not sure if that has also something to do with rotor vibrations, but it would be helpful if I knew where to find such limitation-diagrams. Regarding the limit for avoiding Vortex Ring States I have found a general limit of about 500 feet per minute descent rate (according to ).
  20. I think you are right! Thx! So I will practice this and do exactly what you wrote. I am a total beginner in flying helos, which is why I was not aware that this terrifying vortex effect can be so dangerous. Yeah I need much more practise. The other helo I have to follow sometimes does unpredicted maneuvers and when I overshoot him with too much speed or altitude I loose him very easily. It seems like you have to be close to him during the flight, because using the autopilot to visit all the waypoints does not complete the mission. lol
  21. Is this campaign worth buying for players who only own the Blackshark?
  22. Same here, but when I open this mission in the mission editor I am able to change the parking position of the player's Ka-50. Still it needs to be checked if other bugs remain.
  23. I have noticed that I get rotor vibrations leading to catastrophic engine failures, when I throttle down the collective too much. The vibrations start to occur within a very short time span and the vibration warnings come too late for me. Probably there is a way to aniticipate vibrations early enough, but I could not find any helpful indicators in the cockpit, yet. Of course I can try to move the collective very carefully, but sometimes I need to make a steep dive, so I need to know exactly where the limits are. Failing rotors have already messed up my first mission in the first Ka-50 campaign many times. This mission is just about following a helo and getting familiarized with the area, but I believe since it takes place in a mountainous area the catastrophic failures happen much earlier than on lower altitudes. Either I make steep risky dives or I loose the other helo out of my sight leading to a poor mission rating. The duration of this mission is very long, so I do not want to fail any more.
  24. Heh, I like the font and the color of that text, but in the end I turned it off in options => Misc. => unticking the box "Realtime Bomb Damage Assistance". Apparently this option is not only for ground targets but also for air targets, so it is kind of a cheat when you get kill confirmations without having to check it yourself.
  25. You are very talented at making videos! Which editing software are you using?
