  1. Did that too, yes, but only the first time which was the time it did work, before my accidental delete. After the first time it doesn't even import it, so nothing to finish. :) EDIT: and then, suddenly, out of the blue, VAICOM just imported the F10 items again. So problem solved, kinda. ;)
  2. It's a mission from a campaign, first mission Eastern Friendship for the F/A-18C. So don't know if renaming breaks the campaign, so I'm gonna try deleting the database subfolder (after backupping it ofc). Thanks gents. :) edit: Both renaming as well as a hard reset (i.e. deleting database subfolder) didn't work.
  3. How does one use the F10 import to re-import custom commands from a mission? Accidently deleted one special command added by a mission, now it won't re-add it. How can I do this manually? Tried resetting the keywords, then restarting the campaign/mission, no luck. It just won't add them again. Other missions work fine with import.
  4. The whining never stops. I feel pity for developers nowadays. Oh, and: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=200028 & https://www.polygon.com/2018/1/16/16896172/online-harassment-abuse-cost-of-business

  6. Turn on unlimited fuel so you don't have to do AAR. And then at the end of the mission land at an airbase in stead of the carrier. Problem solved.
  7. I was amazed by how small the Hornet's cockpit really is. And then I got into the Huey. "Spacious" instantly had a new meaning. :D I love VR.
  8. You should put them in your pilotseat with the VR goggles on. Let them see for themselves. ;) My best friend isn't really interested in military aircraft of aircraft/flying in general. I sat him in my rig, goggles on, hot start in the F/A-18C on the Stennis, and he flew for an hour. Afterwards he said it was the best VR experience he's had so far, and he had VR long before I did.
  9. I would, and frankly I hope not. There needs to be an incentive to buy it. Adding more features to the existing Stennis does the opposite.
  10. Yeah of course since there is no other.
  11. Don't know if posted already, but wave off lights are working on the Stennis, unless Youtuber Magz has a carrier we don't have.
  12. Well, a Valve Index can be a bit much in combination with DCS and a 1080. But if I were in your situation I would rather see if I could get a 1080ti second hand for the time being, and then upgrade to the new iterations next year. The 1080ti is on par with the 2080 but second hand could reduce costs of course, and I expect it would run fine with your Index. Or maybe if there's a reseller who still has a 1080ti in stock, bargain a bit. Most resellers wouldn't want to sit on old stock for long periods of time. Plus, a bit of assertiveness (when bargaining) can never hurt of course. ;) In any case, glad I could be of help. Good luck with whatever descision you make. :)
  13. Yes well, benchmarking with DCS? I've never seen it. Still, benchmarking only gives an indication, if it was a consistent predictable test you would never read about performance quirks on forums, simply because the benchmark would tell you what you'd get regarding performance. Also it doesn't take into account the amount of optimization of the software used. Besides that, a maximum of 30% increase for twice the price. I don't see how that ever would be justifiable. Like I said, people are emotional, not rational (in fact, that's what advertising is all about, playing into your emotions). But hey, it's your money. ;)
  14. No, a 2080ti for that ridiculous price is not worth it. Especially since you'll only get a 30% max performance increase for almost twice the price. Again, ridiculous. Remember, NVidia does not have any real competitor on the high-end market, nor was the RTX family designed for performance. It was designed primarily for raytracing on the hardware side of things. Almost no game is using that, and won't be using it in the near future. Even so, since the release of those RTX cards, it's also possible to utilize raytracing using software techniques. So in reality the RTX family is more or less obsolete. I get people will tell you they're experiencing a performance increase, and maybe they are. But people are also emotional beings who want to justify things. It's hard saying something that expensive was a waste of money when they've already bought it. I say; buy a 1080ti or wait till next year, when the next iteration is released. Whatever that may be.
  15. not worth it
  16. There is no comparison, since it's 2D versus 3D. Completely different as you can imagine. Basically there are 2 camps: First camp are graphics fundamentalists, they want the best possible graphics with the highest resolution possible. Eye candy before immersion. And/or they are competitive, and it's way easier dogfighting or bombing when you have almost infinite zoom options and trackir where you only have to move your head a few cm's. Second camp is all about immersion and realism. They want the feeling of flying, being there inside the cockpit and the world, looking around, watching their actual six when dogfighting. Being able to have depth perception and 1:1 scaling helps alot when doing that pilot shit (formation, aa refuel, carrier landings, helo flying, turn in points for bombing, etc). Most people who are seeking immersion and the sense of actual flying are never going back to 2D pancake and keep flying in VR. It's to be expected that people who like eye candy and resolution will not like VR. I, like many, won't be going back to 2D pancake. It's just not enough anymore since I've tried VR.
  17. You say grow up to me while you're the one (of many) whining. Nice joke. :megalol: I'll say it again: if you don't agree with the way ED communicates, or does things, you're not obligated to buy any of their products. Simple as that.
  18. If you hate it, don't buy it.
  19. Set resolution of cockpit displays to 512.
  20. Weather and night lighting.
  21. Then don't. Most of us do. And are having tons of fun!
  22. Well, this discussion has been around for some time. ED has responded on this in the past as well. 2D isn't realistic. You simply cannot translate a 2D experience onto a 3D concept. It's that easy. Hardware is not the issue here. I won't respond further since this is, like I already said, an old discussion which just is rinse & repeat at this stage.
  23. Yeah, that's nice and all, but I'm still right. Because in the same regard you cannot judge spotting in a game/sim on a 2d screen. But surprise surprise, people do. And like you said: "Depending on .....". In KM, 10km is like 5.3nm, so obvious you can spot targets that close. If that's what the fuss is about then especially it's a non-topic. Just be satisfied and glad there even is a combat flightsim, in stead of behaving entitled over and over and over again (not directed to you personally but in general, it's getting tiresome, the complaining and the whining over everything). Maybe it's my age, and I'm not even that old comparing to some on here.
  24. I don't see how. Like I said, jets are really small, especially with inside a huge airspace with a white/grey/blue background (the sky). They also move fast. Pilots don't use binoculars anymore, don't have a zoom function, or smart scaling. Just watch some YT vids about jets at airshows, or flyby's or something, you'll see how small and fast they are. Example, and this one is real close, go figure. I just don't understand the whining (because that's what it is in my humble opinion, I'm sorry). Man up and accept it's really hard to spot. People are just never ever satisfied, unbelievable.
  25. Jets are really small and fast, and airspace is really big.
