  1. This one I would like. As a Dutchie. ;)
  2. I'll be ready for pre-order on May 22nd. :D Sooner than I expected though. Nice.
  3. I'm by no means an expert, let alone I know if it's correct or not, but I think it's a bit weird indeed. It seems lowering collective doesn't do that much in terms of altitude, whereas the Huey lowering collective means you drop the helo, which I would expect it to. The way it is now it's pretty weird to land, because the helo won't drop as fast as I would expect. That being said, I do like this little thing. Pretty easy to fly, easy to deliver weapons to a target, and it looks cool. :) Hope they review the FM cocerning the collective.
  4. Hadn't seen that yet. Thanks.
  5. Well, my 2 cents: I pre-ordered the throttle as well as the WarBRD when they were still in development. Had to wait several months, paid in advance. Upgrades to these devices so freaking soon after release with no plans to cater to early adopters who, by pre-ordering months in advance, supported their small business, is not very customerfriendly I think. I would like to see a buyback so early birds like me can get the new version of the throttle. And, they should be prioritised over new customers, I might add. @Don; I agree within a certain point. It's always a chance a company comes up with a new and improved version of a product, but not after just after 7 or 8 months. Would have had no problems if new iterations are released after 2 years or maybe more. How long is Thrustmaster doing with their Warthog? :)

In real life. Now, this is not real life, it's a sim. Digital images, distorted by the technology itself. Gets worse if resolution is lower. Also, highly dependant on amount of light particals, size of object, visual clarity, time of day, immediate surroundings of object, object color, motion of object, background, etc.
  7. I too couldn't at first. Then moved to VR, and suddenly no more problems. Had the same thing with landing helo's, just couldn't do it until I switched to VR. :)
  8. Regardless of technical specs, the fact that Oculus sends a few Rift S's to Wags and ED is a huge indicator of the level of support for DCS from Oculus. Coming from someone who hates social media (companies) in general. :) Hell, the fact that they're even aware of DCS and it's potential for VR says a lot in imho.
  9. Yeah! Haha, man, great job! More of these please! Laughed my ass off. :D :D` "Uh-oh" :music_whistling: edit: Watched twice now. This is freaking awesome mate! Haha
  10. Try the Keywords training, to see what your recognition percentage is when saying those commands. You need to be above 80%.
  11. Regarding to #6: Practice. Then read. A lot!~ Then practice again. And again. Read some more. :D In other words: be patient. Very patient. It takes time to be a pilot. I've gotten into DCS since Aug. '18, and still when I see (or read what they explain) the more experienced pilots, I barely scratched the surface. :) Regarding which aircraft. Personally I started with the F/A-18C, it's modern, it's early access which means the learning curve is less steep because not every system and/or weapon is available yet. And, buy a helo. Just because they are immensely fun to fly. :joystick: Oh, and if you really want to fly, go VR. There are some potentially interesting new headsets about to be released. Welcome! Enjoy!
  12. Former Yugoslavia (1991 - 2001).
  13. Yeah this. A chopper is a whole different flying machine. Buy the Huey. :smartass:
  14. Funny, I bought the Gazelle this Easter sale, and it's a fantastic little helo. Why not the Gazelle? :) I've been reassured about the quality of microhelis.de, so I take back what I said about their quality in my previous post. Then there's another choice: https://www.pro-flight-trainer.com/collections/control-full-sets
  15. Well you know, when I watched the guy in the following vid, I thought it looked really nice, that stick. Smooth, especially because of the hydraulic dampening. Doesn't need to be MaxFlightStick of course, something comparable. Like microhelis.de, but I read that the quality of those is not all that good. But if you fly helo's exclusively, I would want a hydaulic dampenend stick, that's for sure after seeing that vid. rDd9_tAHtXY Anyway, that's it. :)
  16. Still unsettling/weird in VR. Even though it's realistic (which I doubt, since I'm talking about death, not ejecting or being damaged or something).
  17. When you get shot down, you get sort of launched into the air, and/or you keep floating mid-air, which is a bit unsettling and/or weird when you exclusively fly in VR. Maybe this can be adapted to a more VR-friendly animation? Maybe put the viewpoint somewhere near your homebase or something? On the ground perhaps? :P Thanks.
  18. Well, a VKB or Virpil will cost you around €400 as you say (I have a Virpil WarBRD myself), but MaxFlightStick has a custom cyclic for €600. Of course you would need a throttle too, but since it's intended for helo's you can go for a cheap TM one or something. The MaxFlightStick I would want, and for which I'm still in doubt: http://www.maxflightstick.com/store/index.php?route=product/category&path=115_9002 Again, if you're flying helo's exclusively, then don't go for a self-centered (spring) stick.
  19. Ah, PD 2.0, forget I said anything. ;) Yeah, new VR. Seeing is believing in my case, specs are not everything. I just seriously doubt if anyone will be able to fully enjoy the announced specs of those high-res VR sets with current gen GPU's, with decent graphics settings in DCS. Sorry. :P
  20. If you fly helo's exclusively, I would take a look at MaxFlightStick. These cyclic's are hydraulic, which means they stay in place, no springs or anything. Ideal for helo's. Would like one myself, but I'm still busy justifying the price. ;)
  21. Obviously it's not your hardware, couldn't be much faster at the moment. So, it probably is your software. OS, apps, unneeded services that are running, pagefile, background apps, monitoring software, update settings, etc etc. Software optimization is key for DCS I've noticed. And if it turns out it's not that either, than all that's left is waiting for ED to optimize DCS, like they did/do with this upcoming update. Software optimization is highly underrated. Faster hardware with poorly optimised software won't give you increased performance.
  22. I purchased the Gazelle today. Fun little thing, very easy as well. Maybe an idea? :)
  23. Hornet and/or PG map.
