Semi realistic US training progression in DCS World
dawgie79 replied to agathorn's topic in DCS Core Wish List
It's a sim. No need for trainers because when you crash the bird you can start over. -
Pre-ordered. :)

Part of EA. Not sure when final release is expected, but I guess not too long, a few more months I guesstimate (althought that depends on how patient you are). :) Full manual is located in C:\<location DCS folder>\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\FA-18C\Doc. Manual is updated after new features are implemented. So it's an EA manual sort of. No clue about your third question, sorry. I have a different HOTAS.
-
Oki, I think I saw the f-16 flying in a new map? Anyone else can confirm (or deny)? :) Gonna pre-order tonight.
-
Maybe patience is the way to go.
-
Yeah, what Hans said. Welcome to the never-going-back-to-pancake-club! :D:joystick: Try a helo in VR. Will be your second amazement. :P
-
Anyone else also hyped? :P
-
Will this module be also available as a pre-order? Sign me up anyway. :) Happen to have any WiP images to share, Wags?
-
Until implemented you don't. No matter what you say.
-
By being patient. Again we (including you) don't know how things ultimately will be implemented by ED.
-
I'm not an idiot, thank you. ED is not a multimillion dollar company like EA. EA sucks for that matter with their iterations every year. So no comparison in my opinion. Besides, I do understand. But it'll solve itself. And who knows. Maybe ED changes its mind and will come up with a server license? They changed their minds about the TGP for the Hornet too, so maybe. I don't know. And I don't presume to know either. Talking bad about/towards ED and only complain most certainly won't help, I can tell you that.
-
Yes, well, than it'll be like I said; a new diff. in the online servers. Just can't have it all, don't know why people don't seem to understand that.
-
What worrying message would that be according to you?
-
Maybe something like a bundle with the F/A-18C, like with the Normandy map along with WWII assets?
-
No. Despite all your (fairly correct) arguments, my point is: the world has changed before. ;) Change is inevitable. IF things will be as you say, and IF it will divide the current differentiation of online servers, than a new diff. will evolve. It's not that hard. People should be glad ED is designing such a high fidelity carrier evironment, since that's pretty unprecendented. It's just sad people mostly seem to complain in stead of be happy about more choices, more options, more modules, etc. Why only complain in stead of actively thinking about new possible solutions, server/client side, a server module, dedicated carrier servers, I don't know, something? No, mostly I read is complaint after complaint after complaint. :)
-
Whining that it's going to divide the online community (which is something yet to be seen, we don't even know if and what solution ED comes up with), is the same as wanting it to be (partially) free. So stop with your "strawman"-argument, it's not gonna fly for that reason. So yeah. Still the problem is people want all for minimal or no cost and effort. But like I said. I don't really care either way since I'm not an online player. I just am surprised every time ED announces something, whole hordes of people come and complain about this, or that, or whatever. The minority just seems happy with an announcement. That's just sad if you ask me. :)

Yap, still working properly. Still enjoying it too! :) It's just that I think it's really fast to practically replace a product after a few months. At least offer early birds an option, something like a buyback, or an option to purchase just the grip so people can replace their old grip for the new one on the throttle (along with a manual on howto). For a product that costs well over €300 I would expect an option when the lifecycle of that product is only 8 months or so. No, I don't opt for Virpil to offer an option for free. Not at all. :)
-
It's really not. If you don't want the carrier, don't buy it. Simple concept of choice. The real problem is that some people just want everything with minimal cost/effort/younameit. That only exists in dreams.
-
Well. I'm not at all that long on these forums, but I read the same things over and over. People prefer to get things free, they demand a lot, and blame ED for a lot of things unjustly. In other words, it doesn't seem to matter what ED does, because people whine anyway. Yeah, true, and not really comparable as you're not using those modules since you can't fly two birds at once. But you can fly a bird and use the carrier at the same time.
-
It's also a really simple concept that this module requires a lot of work, so it should be obvious it won't be free. And it's also obvious that it produces network conflicts when half of the peers own the module while the other half doesn't. Complaining to ED doesn't help. We can read in Wags' statement it's meant for people who want carrier environments expanded to an unmatched degree. Not for people who want to shoot down others online. For that the Stennis is just fine I would imagine. But hey, what do I know. I only play SP. ;)
-
SP only here, definitely going to purchase the carrier module. I hope ED will add the option to turn on deck/runway lighting at night, manually, so that it'll stay on and not depend on "Inbound" radio calls. Since that's not working for me in combination with Vaicom Pro, which means right now I can't use the carrier at night (unfortunately the people from Vaicom haven't found the source of this issue yet).
