  1. I never used TiR with a monitor since I tried VR. The scale, depth perception, situational awareness, it's just a no-brainer in my opinion. Also, I was really annoyed by the fact TiR is twitchy as hell, often not doing what I wanted it to do, suddenly flipping the view when looking a certain way, etc. No, never going back. I'm just going to keep upgrading for VR only. :)
  2. Thanks, edited my post. :)
  3. I honestly don't know if this video has been posted already, but I just wanted to share this video. Came across it while browsing YT, not made by me so credits to the YT-user Rick S, who was a guest on the G.H.W. Bush CVN-77 carrier for a 24hr visit. Catapult launches and recoveries of F/A-18C/E/F's, the hangar, captain's home, and more. Enjoy! I certainly did. :)
  4. Wags makes it look real easy. I was wondering though, since jetpilots also have IR/GPS/LSR guided weapons, how often does a pilot use CCIP/dive bombing? Seems dangerous because of the dive towards the target and not as effective as guided weapons.
  5. Default code for lmav's (E) is 1688, not 1668. ;) Allow the F to warm up (approx. 3 mins before use), make sure the DDI with the mav page is SOI, then uncage, slew it on target, wait for lock, rifle!
  6. Oh that's nice.
  7. I think this describes it perfectly.
  8. The Warthog, since you've only got jets and a helo so far (except for the FC3 module but I don't take those into consideration to be honest). With that in mind the A-10C is a different animal. ;)
  9. What I always do when needing performance: make sure you have as few as possible applications running, including background apps. You can check in your startup options, taskbar icons, system services. The less applications one has running, the more resources will be available for DCS.
  10. Don't forget to bind VR zoom on your HOTAS. Welcome to VR. :)
  11. For LSO, and crew/equipment on the deck you'll need to use mods for the time being. ED is working on a carrier module, where a lot more will be functional (crew on deck including hand signalling, LSO, air boss, ready room, hangar hopefully). ICLS, IFLOLS, and the catapults are working with the F/A-18C.
  12. Oki, thanks for your reply. Just decided to switch to OB, running the updater now. Thanks again NineLine. :)
  13. Since there's a new changelog posted today for the OB, I'm guessing no update for the stable today?
  14. Be sure to post your first experience! It's mindblowing.
  15. Yeah, still in early access. Ground radar is not finished yet, which explains you can't see ground objects on the radar. For SAMs you can use the RWR. There are a few training missions, and Wags has a lot of video's explaining different subjects of the Hornet on his Youtube channel as well. Coupled Steering is not available as an autopilot mode (yet?). Right now you only have attitude hold, baro alt hold, rad alt hold, heading select, and auto throttle control.
  16. Hope an update for the stable will land tomorrow. :)
  17. Why would you want to use trim, when you have a FCS dealing with that for you? I only use trim when I'm about to land, to trim it for On-speed AoA. Otherwise I almost never trim the F/A-18C.
  18. Thanks! I find it's kind of akward starting mid-air in VR.
  19. This is why I voted yes. To support ED in the core engine and simulator.
  20. Yeah seen it, not really my taste. :)
  21. So what? Like her with regards to Belgium I hope we get skins for the Dutch F-16's too. Our countries don't have 20-something different jets so it's nice to have at least 1 jet our countries use, although it's not exactly the same model. So skins for our countries will be much appreciated. Look how gorgeous! :)
