  1. 1. What you’re looking for is “force-correlate”. Read up on that. I don’t think the Maverick D model supports that, and is probably the Maverick you have loaded. 2. Are you losing speed in level flight or when climbing? The Hog can’t maintain climb above 15-20 degrees pitch.
  2. I’ve got something for you. PM sent.
  3. Nothing quite breaks the realistic immersion such as watching the boom penetrate and pass through yourself or a wingman. It would be nice to see realistic collision detection that would impart some force on your aircraft and the boom too. Perhaps too much force and you’ll even break the boom, crack your windshield, create a trail of fuel, and cause your MP wingmen to really let you have it. That should work up the proper nerves required for AAR :)
  4. 1. So I’d like to get the own and group IDs set up (A-10C). I’ve clicked on prepare mission, then select client #1 spot, hop in the cockpit and set up the IDs, then I click ESC, pick client #2’s spot, do the same with a different OWN ID, click ESC and exit back to mission editor. I then save and exit. Upon restarting and then flying the mission, changes were not saved to the SADL. How to fix? 2. When flying a single player mission, I can see other groups of Hornets, F16s, etc on my TAD (A-10C). However, I can’t seem to see other Hornets in MP. Is this normal or is the Hornet not configured properly? Thanks.
  5. Thanks. Looking specifically for A-10 and Hornet.
  6. Thanks. I wanted to start with empty tanks when I spawn behind the tanker in my mission. Oh well.
  7. I’m not sure if this is even possible IRL, but can fuel be transferred into external tanks during AAR? I’ve set up a AAR practice session for myself and added external tanks to the aircraft in hopes of allowing for additional time taking fuel from the tanker. However, when I set the initial fuel level in mission editor to 20%, it seems to work only for the internal tanks. The externals are always full. So, how do I set the initial capacity of the external tanks? Thanks.
  8. It makes sense after you know it, but we all grow up knowing cars before planes, and it’s the throttle (gas pedal) that changes your speed. That totally messes you up for flying planes. Also, I grew up playing flight sims without rudder pedals, and the first time I tried taxing a 152, I tried steering with the ailerons!
  9. Getting AOA right on carrier landings Here’s the one tip you need: Your elevator stick controls airspeed. Your throttle controls altitude (or rate of descent). Seems counter-intuitive to the novice pilot. Coming in too fast? Pull back on the elevator. Of course, you’ll have too much energy, so you’ll end up climbing. Pull the throttle back to stay on your glide slope. Once you establish the correct AoA, use elevator trim to neutralize the stick force. You shouldn’t need to play with the elevator stick much from here on out. Use the throttle to adjust your glide slope. Don’t worry, adjusting throttle here won’t change your speed much. The plane will naturally climb or descend and MAINTAIN airspeed AND AoA without any elevator input simply by the pure magic of physics/aerodynamics. Just remember: Pitch for airspeed, throttle for altitude. I’ve been a simmer my whole life and never really got it until I started training for my PPL. I always think of my elevator trim as an autopilot’s airspeed setting. Pushing/pulling on the elevator stick is just a temporary override of the airspeed setting. Happy traps!
  10. Got it working. Looks amazing in VR! Makes me want to hop out and roll around in the soft grass.
  11. I’m going to guess this is your missing piece? After T=4.0.0.8, INS alignment is complete, then you have to press the NAV OSB to switch out from ground mode. You can see the asterisk next to ground in this picture. It will move to NAV after you switch. After that, switch NMSP from HARS to EGI and then flip your SAS on and your EAC switch on. That’s pretty much it. Wait for INS to align before you start taxi. Chuck’s guide will answer most of your questions. Download it.
  12. Follow the checklist?
  13. Without looking at the track (not at home now) did you switch from HARS to EGI on the NMSP?
  14. I highly recommend sparky! He helped me about two weeks ago with his amazing patience. A great guy :) I’m also looking for exactly what you want and have got a few guys together. I’m the only one of them in pacific time zone. My play time usually begins around 9pm too. Shoot me a message if you are interested!
  15. Thanks, but it is now saying "file not found" when I try to download it.
  16. Do these textures affect VR performance? I know the terrain engine eats up memory, but do the textures matter much?

    I'm lost

I'm lost If you’re on stable, then right click the icon on your desktop and open properties. Change the target path from: “c:\....\dcs_updater.exe” to “c:\....\dcs_updater.exe” update @openbeta Double click to run. After update, change back to original path. That’s what I’ve been doing after I installed the stable version.
  18. No problems here trying to get a lock with TMS up short. Just make sure the crosshairs are already on the target (slaved from TGP) when you try to lock. You can go to close FOV (China hat fwd) to zoom in closer to the target, just like you do with the TGP. You’re going to have to be within 6nm typically, sometimes even 2-3nm and taking fire from AAA before you can get a lock. It just depends on the target and the background. The target needs to be in front of you. If it’s off to the side too much, you may still see the target in the MCFD, but won’t be able to lock on to it. If these conditions are met and you still can’t lock, you may have to fudge it a little by slewing and trying to get it to lock automatically when you release the slew. While it’s not as quick as a visual acquisition, the method that works best for me is to first pick up the target with my TGP and set it to point track (especially if it’s a moving target). I set my left MFCD as the TGP and the right MFCD as my Mav display. Set the TGP as SOI and after “locking” on with the TGP, I set the SPI to my TGP (TMS up long). Next, I switch over to the Mav display and make it SOI and then slave the seeker to my TGP line of sight by pressing China hat forward long. Now your Mav should be right on the target. I then glance up at the HUD and make sure I’m pretty much heading right at the target, then glance back to the Mav display and confirm crosshairs still on the target, then I just keep tapping TMS up short every 1 second until lock is established. After target is destroyed, don’t forget your victory barrel roll :)
  19. May I suggest editing post #1 of this thread with a link to purchase this? It’s probably best to keep post #1 up to date with the latest info. I’ve spent a few minutes scrolling thru this large thread and haven’t come up with it yet. Thanks!
  20. Perfect. Just needed someone to point the finger for me. Couldn’t find it. I’ll take a look. Thanks.
  21. I have a truck that goes along the road with 8 waypoints. Is there a way to get the truck to stop for 1-2 minutes at one of the middle waypoints before continuing? Next question: When the truck is temporarily stopped, I want to have a passenger hop into the truck. Can this be done, or do I need to have the passenger walk up to the truck then despawn him? Also, can I make the driver get out of the truck once reaching the DP, and walk along a path?
  22. Just finished listening to your interview earlier today and I have finally opened up the mission editor tonight and am attempting to give this mission creation thing a shot. Thanks for the inspiration.
  23. Happens to me too sometimes. Just slew it any direction in the tiniest amount then either reslave it, or immediately press TMS up short to try to obtain the lock before the crosshairs get too far off the target. I’ve always been curious if this is a bug, but never pursued asking because it’s an easy workaround as I mentioned above. Maybe someone else can chime in.
  24. Damnit. Now I will need to spend more money. :) I really like the idea of bringing a book to life in an interactive sim. That’s genius. However, whenever they make movies from books everyone always says the book was better. There’s your goal... make the DLC campaign better :) Now this gets me thinking... If they only had the B-25 and I could be Yossarian with some comical airmen throwing Nately’s “girl” out the plane because we just can’t stand her... maybe in the near future... “Catch 22” for those of you who haven’t read the classic yet.
  25. I think what you really want is a TrackIR along with some regular video goggles, like what the RC guys use when flying FPV. I'm not quite sure how many people would buy such an immersion-providing device to use it for non-immersive purposes. Alternatively, you can start daily neck muscle stretching routines :) Also, try using your torso in conjunction with your neck. If you throw your shoulders into it a little bit, you can easily check your 6.
