  1. What gives? ViaCom was working great. Now I get flashing comms menus, and Voice Attack shows commands are recognized, but they are not transferred into DCS. There's no interaction. Please help. Thanks.
  2. It is not required to be in the US. We have irregular fliers too. We just picked up our first from Canada and UK this week. Any timezone is welcome. The majority of the action has been weekday mornings in the US, then more at night after we get the kids to bed. It doesn’t have to be that way though if we get other time zones involved. Send me a PM if you’re a BuD and interested. Thanks.
  3. We are still looking for more BuDs to join us. Contact me if interested. Group of 16 right now. Scattered all over the US.
  4. Hi Rob, well I can’t guarantee that you’ll always be playing missions with CTLD, which is sort of the cool thing about the group. There is no dedicated server, so it is up to all the BuDs to participate and load up whichever mission they want. Every time I log in, I never know what to expect as it is different each time. It’s all fun though! This gives each BuD a chance to showcase his mission and have others try it out. Some are hits, some not. I enjoy seeing all the different types (and skilled mission building) of missions that come through. We seem to be having fun no matter what it is. As long as we are airborne, we’re happy, even if it’s in a training mission to help a noob get up to speed with us. Typically, if there’s no one on, someone will hop on and throw up a mission of his choosing and then send out a message to the group. Others will follow and hop in if able. If you are still interested and somewhat fit the profile of what I mentioned in the original list, shoot me a PM. We’d be glad to have you. We’ve grown to 15 now and typically have 3-4 guys on together weekday mornings and 4-5 at a time on weekends. There are still some periods of inactivity, so we’ll take a few more into the group at this time.
  5. Good question. I do see it there in photos of the real cockpit too. I have the TMWH stick and it includes a pinky lever where the yellow trigger is shown. It is non-functional in default bindings but I use it as a modifier so that if I’m holding it down I can assign a new function to all the switches. This doubles the amount of things I can do with the HOTAS.
  6. If you don't mind shouting out commands and getting strange looks from your wife, then check out VoiceAttack. You won't ever need to click on anything again if you are okay with voice commands. If you want to take it even further, ViaCom Pro is an addon for VoiceAttack. VA is free if you want up to 20 commands, otherwise it is only $10 for unlimited. ViaCom is another $10, adds a bunch of realism, and all commands are already built in, saving you the headache of setting it up yourself. I'm flying the A-10C which has a very clickable cockpit, and I'm not using the mouse or keyboard too much, just a little.
  7. We have 3-4 guys that play in the mornings, which may work for you. No discrimination here. I’ve been to your side of the pond (assuming Europe?) and love it.
  8. I will send a PM. We are only looking for 1-2 more at this time while we all get to know each other, then will open it up for more. The guys in the group like the small, personable, feel of the group.
  9. Looking for some more BuDs (BUsy DadS) to fly and chat with? Edited
  10. Your suggestions #1 and #2 are already possible by editing a LUA file in your folder. This is how I play and love it. Doesn’t feel like cheating at all. As for multiplayer, I just play with buddies on a private server and we allow labels. I’m the opposite where I used to only play SP, but now only do MP.
  11. Wingnut, notepad is likely your issue. It formats it differently. Personally, I use VS Code. How can I send you my file? Send me your email address in a PM?
  12. Just go to the LUA file and reduce the font size. I’ve got mine working really well for air and ground targets now.
  13. Haha yeah, totally strange and never happened to me with CBUs before. It happened in our MP session last night, which was a bit of a comedy show. Enemy ground targets saw an A-10 loitering overhead with 11 CBUs for 10 minutes, then depart the area and pilot eject. 5 minutes later, our Hornet friend shows up over the enemy, but has problems with his new key bindings, which throws his trim way out of control and he can’t get it back and crashes. Lol. Lucky day for those guys on the ground!
  14. The tail fusing? Hmm, I never changed it from default, but maybe.
  15. I’ve searched all over for this answer already and none of the solutions worked for me. Perhaps I missed something, or perhaps there is a bug. Let me know. Here goes... In a mission last night, I flew, dropped my weapons, took some damage, RTB’d. Back at base, I completely shut down, repaired, then rearmed with CBU97’s, then went through the whole startup again. Yes, I did click on Load All. In the air, I had the “invalid fusing” message. I tried it in CCRP and in CCIP. I tried reloading all stores in the DSMS. I had my SPI marked. I was well above the HOF and tried several altitudes. I went to the inventory page, changed HOF in an attempt to fix a potential bug, no luck. INS was aligned, no caution lights. This was not my first time with CBUs, but was the first time I experienced this. Nothing in the DSMS was giving clues, all settings were as they usually are. I ejected, picked a new slot in the mission, tried again doing the exact same thing and all was fine. Bug? Did I miss something? I don’t have a track, sorry. Only thing different was the rearming in the middle of the mission, which I’ve done before without issues.
  16. As our name suggests, we are a group of guys who don’t have time, and cannot make any commitments, to any other type of formal squad due to the nature of life, but need a place to come hang out when life (A.K.A. wife) allows. BuDs is that place where you can just hop in and out whenever you want, even if it’s just to say hello, or also if you want to put up a 3 hour mission. Anything goes! We’re mostly casual, but also willing to be formal. Come on by during your squad's off-nights. We have several smaller squads that drop by often. Think of it like stopping in at your favorite neighborhood bar to shoot some pool or throw some darts with some familiar faces you see outside around town. You can even bring some beer along if you’d like :) You don’t even have to commit to this group. Participation in other groups is encouraged too. Networking is good, especially when we all have a common interest. We started mid-March 2019 and are still getting to know each other, so don’t feel intimated to hop in and join the fun! We are on Discord, and our chat room is just as active than our online play. We joke around, talk about aviation, discuss our busy lives, share pictures, and even talk about our biggest hurdle in DCS gameplay... the BuMs! There are currently more than 180 of us (as of 2/2/2020), and we’re looking to grow a little more so that we get the benefit of MP availability when desired while also keeping the group small and personable so that we all know each other and can learn from each other. There are still pockets in the day of inactivity, so we'll keep growing for now, however most of the time there are people around to play with. Usually 3-4 at any given time, and up to 15-20 when we do planned events. You’ll quickly get to know the regulars who play during your preferred hours. We are global and a borderless community and all share a common interest in aviation. See our map here. Also, you don’t have to be busy, or a dad, to join. As long as you are in the mentality of casual game play, understand that life gets in the way when you’re in the middle of a bombing run, and feeling social, BuDs is for you. We all enjoy talking about airplanes and simulators throughout the day in the chat room. A typical MP session goes something like this... Hop into BuDs on Discord and see who’s online, establish communication, hop into whatever shenanigans are going on, and leave when your wife tells you to, if you must :) If no one is on, start up a server, hop into the voice channel and send a message to the group to entice someone to join you. Here are some videos from BuDs sessions: If this sounds like the MP experience you’re looking for, shoot me a PM and introduce yourself and I’ll get you into the group from there. The server is not public. Please let me know which city you’re in and I’ll introduce you to the BuDs. Blue skies! Fun fact: Our logo below was a screenshot taken from an actual BuDs formation flight, later edited to remove the background. Don't worry, we fly helos too!
  17. I think the mission was made before DCS 2.5 was released, which is why they are in the trees now. I don’t think you can find them unless you see tracers coming out of the trees. You can also just blanket the area with CBUs and get lucky :)
  18. Ah yes. I think we all do this. Air starts and hot starts for testing, but when it’s go-time, cold starts to set the mood.
  19. Cold starts here too. It gets me in the proper mindset before a mission. If I know that I can spawn and get airborne quickly, then I take too many risks in the AO that would be unrealistic.
  20. Anyone using OBS to record your sessions? I got it working to record the screen, any audio coming through the computer, and any audio captured by the mic. However, I am looking for the setting to record only audio from the game and from Discord (or TeamSpeak), and not any other windows sounds that may pop up. Also, I don't want the mic recorded at all times, only when I use PTT with Discord or TS. Any ideas? Thanks.
  21. For what its worth... if your power drops after pulling throttle back as you said it does... then it’s working perfectly :)
  22. I know nothing of the A-10A and how it works with the Mavs. If you enjoy the Hog, consider picking up the C model. It’s really fun. Does your throttle work full range (idle to max) when you’re on the ground before takeoff?
  23. The Hog has a stability assist system (SAS) for yaw and pitch. It auto-coordinates for you, so you don’t really need to touch the rudder pedals much during rectilinear flight.
  24. Edit: I just saw that your question is for the A-10A. I was speaking for the A-10C. I’m not sure if there is a difference with the Mavs or propulsion system between the two models. I think the difference is avionics only, but not 100% sure.
