Where can I find the dxdiag? Its not in the Log-folder in my savegame-folder. The thrid and second last line of my log from the last start is as follows: 2021-04-16 15:59:56.669 INFO DCS: dxdiag.exe /64bit /whql:off /t "D:\SavedGames\DCS.openbeta\Logs\dxdiag.txt" 2021-04-16 16:00:02.913 INFO DCS: 'D:\SavedGames\DCS.openbeta\Logs\dxdiag.txt' deleted successfully BTW. I deleted the Input-folder for the Huey and set the inputs manually. After that it worked for several "LShift+R". But not sure, for how long. I now enabled the Full debug log with the autoexec.cfg

Im also having this problem. Or (for now) had it. I did the Savegame-folder-renaming and since then it worked for me. Only 8 different missions with 10-15 LShift+R, that killed DCS for me before. Only set the videosettings (minus the mirrors) to what I had before and up to now only have reimportet my flightlog and loaded the inputsettings of 5 aircraft so far. My missions are still in the "old" folder, but I already loaded two of them with no problem. At least for now. And I havent used MSIAfterburner yet, that was on most of the time recently due to some other problems. Before I had no mods other than SRS installed and my complete DCS-install was only 1 month old. EDIT: five minutes later: jumped into the Huey, loaded my input-settings, reloades the mission and DCS crashed..... Tried a second time and again it crashed.

Hi. At the installation at N 35:25:28, E 36:00:21 the vehicles are flying some 10 meter above the ground. Saw this with the Huey and the Hornet in different missions.
-
I have the same problem. Sometimes at "world 1/60", but always towards the end of the loading-process. Often I just hit Return-R and the mission reloads but then crashes. I have no mods, only SRS. Repair did not help. Windows is up to date. Right now Im not willing to rename my savegamefolder since then Id have to reimport all my controller-settings, which is a annoying process. But maybe when I got the time, Ill do it. Recently changed from Nvidia to AMD, but did a DDU-uninstall of the Nivdia-driver, so this should not be a problem. dcs.log

With the last update one month I ago, I also could not acces DCS for a while. Had to look for the updater.exe in the temp-files and use that one, since the updater.exe in the bin-folder had 0KB. Then it worked. But right now I cant find it. The updater.exe is also for download on the DCS-page somewhere....

Hi. Thx for the tip. I found the problem. When I load the game, its ok and stays at 60+fps until I get too close to the ground. But once I tab out of the game and back in, fps go down to 48 which also feels very stuttery. I now found out, that after tabbing-into the game again, I need to press Alt-Enter to make it fullscreen again, and then its ok again. I first thought the Radeon-driver (or Radeon-Chill) could cause this, but disabling Radeon-Chill did not change the tab-out-situation, only Alt-Enter did. Still to me it feels performance has dropped, which could be maybe due to added visible features. The 6700Xt should be about 20% faster then my previous 2070Super, but that dont feel like it. 2.7 with the 6700XT feels slower than 2,5 with the 2070S. Only clear difference (from 2070S) is on the SC, where the stutters have gone with the 6700XT, which actually is a CPU-bound scenario. This could prove some of the tech-talk, that the Radeon need less CPU. Overall Im moderatly happy with the update. The clouds look nice, but dont "behave" as I usually seem them behave. But I guess, with the correct cloud-settings I could overcome this. But then again Im not a real pilot that sees Straocumulus from above. And I have constant crashes. I guess every third misson or so. Always on loading the progress-bar just stops and I need to close the game via task-manager. Already sent a few crashreports..... But overall of course visible progress with a game thats getting better and better.

Im on TrackIR/ monitor and it seems my fps took a big hit and many situations feel very stuttery. Shadows work as shitty as before but I guess I will have to turn them off anyway to increase fps. Just invested 800e for a New 6700XT to be futureproof and now with 2.7 its worse than before. Visually and soundwise a big improvement but Im not happy at all right now.

Sorry, saw that too late. See the pic to cap 60fps. Its in german but should be understandable. Thx for the info about upcoming displays. This might change my opinion......

Hi. I cant give you any advice, but some thoughts though...... The system in the link with 32GB seems quite fine. That way one at least could get a decent GPU at a moderate price. More specific: First the 5800x. Great CPU, but tends to get hot and therefore sometimes noisy. There are workarounds, that might decrease performance a bit, but still Id see to get (or add) a decent cooler with it. Ive got a 5600x with a big Nocuta-cooler and the cooler stays very quiet all the time, most time almost inaudible. Still a 5600x or a 10700K or even a 10700 non-K could be a cheap and good alternative. I dont know about the RAM. HyperX seems to be quiet expensive. I made an upgrade form 3000-16 to 3600-16 and did not see a difference; also upbraded from 32 to 64GB again with almost no differnce. In some missions I do have up to 40G B of RAM-usage now, but it hard to tell the difference.... I guess, cheaper 3200 Ram (CL16??) would do also and I guess that will be in the set anyway. CL14 would be nice, but costs much more than it helps IMO. About the SSD: its not important if its a NVMW or a SATA-SSD. For quite some time I had Win10 on an 500GB-SSD (Samsung 860Evo) and DCS on a 500GB-M.2-PCIE-SSD (NVME; Samsung 970Evo) and just recently, when doing a fresh setup changed that, so Win runs from the NVME and DCS runs from the SSD. I saw no difference at all. From what Ive seen on youtube, differences between PCIE 4.0, 3.0 or (non-cheapo) SSDs arent big and in normal usage almost neglegible. But Id prefer a two-drive (in my case a three-drive) setup. Its much nicer to only setup windows and no need to download DCS again.. Regarding GPU it all depends on your usage. Ive got a 1440p 32K monitor and my 2070super is doing quite well. For a 1440p widescreen the 2070 will still be ok and the 3070 very fine. As for VR its a compromise anyway. When testing VR with my 2070, I had an ok experience with the Reverb G1 and Rift S but the G2 needed quite some tuning down. Anyway: I often said in the past, with DCS one could invest 1000Euros and see only a small change. I still think this is true. DCS just seems to waste recources, so Id personall would choose the middle way as the system in the link. Going much more expensive will only give you a small increase in overall experience and still ask for a lot of compromises.

Ive had this thought quite often lately, if 4K would be much better than 1440p but decided (for now) to stay with my 32inch 1440p 144fps monitor. First reason is, that in the past with DCS expensive upgrades mostly rendered small changes in experience. IMO they almost never justified the investment. Second reason is, that even that I cap my FPS in DCS to 60 because of TrackIR, I do not want to give up the high refresh rate for other games. And there are no suitable 4K-panels with over 60hz refreshrate and 32-38 inch. Third reason, which is very personal, is my fading eye-sight. Approaching 50 much too fast, my eys-sight has somehow weakened, so for reading and using my smartphone some reading-glasses (1,0 or 1,5 diopters right now) are of some help. And when using it while DCS I can witness a higher crispness too. But then I again I quite often forget to use them and the experience is still the same. So why should I go to 4K, if the experience between sharp 1440p (with glasses) and slightly less sharp 1440p (without glasses) does not change the overall experience for me? Thaty why I decided to stay at 1440p right now. But once good 4K-options (eg 35inch with 100Hz refresh rate) become available, I for sure will reconsider. I also thought about that 37,5inch-LG-panel in the past, but feel, that a wide-screen in DCS is not that helpful, since I feel the hight of the image is as important as the width. But this monitor also would have meant a big investment (expensive monitor and need for a high-end GPU), which still would have given me probably (see reason 1) only a little gain in experience.

In the last generation the 2080Ti was the hightest people usually would get and the 1200+ quid seemed to be very pricy. The Titan RTX was something almost nobody would think of getting. Now it seems, that thinking has changed and many people consider the pricing of the former Titan RTX to be "normal". I know of a few people who now own 3090s and have paid north of 2000,- Euros. Even myself, looking for a RX6800 tend to want to buy one for 900 Euros (MSRP is 580!), since compared to other listings at 1000-1400 this almost seems cheap. But since I already have made the experience several times, that investing 1000,- in hardware for DCS gives you only a very minor upgrade in overall experience, I probaly will not buy one until I can pay MSRP or lower. Just recently upgraded my oc-ed 9600K to a 9900K with now change at all (to occasional stutters) and then bought a 5600X after the 9900K made my mainboard make strange noises, and also threw in some additional 32gigs of RAM, again with no actual change. Well maybe 3fps more in the Tomcat on the SC. Those 3fps fore sure are worth the investment, I guess! Anyway, I often think Lisa Sue and JenHsun Huang are laughing all day long at the stupidity of many of us, willing to pay such prices.

This could be interesting.... Considering, that DCS in many situations is CPU-limited (not in Syria!) it - if those findings prove to hold true in DCS - could be very beneficial using a Radeon-Gpu. Main takeaway from the vid is, that Radeon GPUs have about 20% less overhead than Geforce-GPUs in CPU-limited situations. Going to 15:39 one can see that the Geforcedriver seems to use 10-20% more CPU than the Radeondriver. Thats 10-20% more CPU-power that can be used very well for other things (hence more fps) as we all know in DCS. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JLEIJhunaW8

Im having 32GB an on a Syria-map (Trainingmap of our Squad) I often reach the max of 32GB, which results in heavy stuttering. Especially with the Tomcat since it seems to use more RAM than the Hornet. Maybe I have to go and buy another 32GB.... Anyone know, what game settings reduce RAM-usage? I tried a few and none had an effect.

Anyone know, why the performance-thread in the Bug-section was closed? There was no reason stated. I also have some severe stutters problems with the SC, especially in connection with the Tomcat (seems A more than B). Its clearly not a GPU-thing like in Syria (which I actually accept as progress since most new things come with a price-tag). Concerning the rest of the discussion, I just want to say, I dont need a hangar, ready room or Airboss-Station. I just want some yellow-shirts to guide me around with no stutters. In EDs defense I just want to remind everybody, how things were one year ago after initial 2.5.6 -release. Things are better now than then, arent they?

[REPORTED]"CCRP Invalid" After a Few Seconds of Being Valid
Wali763 replied to Hawkeye91's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi. I just found out, that if you select the GBU via a press on the respective OSB-button in the DSMS then it works for me. Usually I only choose profiles via the HUD. But doing so, the problem again occures. -

Is there already a solution to this? Still am not able to drop GBU-54s -
Nobody got an idea?

Hi. What kind of DCS have you got installed? OB or stable? When I had both installed I had two folders named just like yours, so the "DCS" most likely is for stable and "DCS.openbeta" is for OB. Whatever you dont use, you can delete IMO.

Hi. I have DCS on my D:-drive and every time I do a fresh Windows-reinstall the Start-menu folder for DCS is gone. For the most time, I then just used a link to DCS_updater.exe. But is there another way to have to "normal" Start-menu-folder back again? Thx
-
Im through the campain now. All the time had the feeling, that the plane felt at times sluggish, as if it was tweaked. Also often buttons were disabled. Not the style of campaign I like. Thats what I wanted to find out in the first place.
-
Hi. Thx. Later I checked the update-logfile and saw, that a copy of DCS_updater.exe was in my Temp-files. Copied that and it worked again.

Hi. Ive now done five missions (0 through 4). Right now Im a bit happy and a bit dissapointed. Good things are It really feels different to DCS, which is good and bad. I can see the assitance for beginners, but am not sure, if this will be enough since there still are many things to do. But for sure its helping one learn certain things. The restart-mission after you have died (with full labels then) is helpful, but was not nessecary up to now, since it only skipped some 5 min flying. Not like in other campaings where this would set you back another 25 minutes. The visuals of the whole campaign is a bit different to normal DCS and Im happy, that I can use the liveries also on my own mission. I like them. You never actually feel, flying on the PG-map but somewhere else instead. What I dont like (but which is mostly completly personal): Even the vocals are really nice, they are just as they were taken out of an Manga-comic or at least how I experience such comics during channel-hopping. Never watched one really though. I think, this is kind of the thing, that you have to expect doing these missions. Some radio-calls along to ones giving you orders are informative, many are non-military in the mentioned Manga-comic-style.... What is rather personal is the price of the whole compaign. Its by far the most expensive, but only offering 13 missions. The Enemy within costs half the price and offers about 20 missions, all with great vocals. But I did want to see how this different approach to DCS works and for that Im ok with the price. And its actually visible, that quite some work went into the Campaign like the music. Concering the four questions from above: 1) I did not see a tutorial-compaign. But there is one SC and one non-SC-campaign. There are also no video-sequences. I guess, they were not able to implement those. 2) I already had one automated AAR. The first time I took control via ESC but then many of the accompaning radio-calls did not appear. 3) in mission 4 you have a Case3 landing; but thats optional, you can end it mid-air. Most flights up to now end mid-air, some also start mid-air. 4) Playtime of most mission seems about half an hour, since you mosly jump in a few minutes before the action. Remembering some other compaings, where you had to go through yet another cold-start and follow five WP until to get to the action after one stupid mistake, this is kind of nice. But for sure not for the "I-am-real-fighter-pilot"-kind. But in other campaings I have already mastered the Fast-Fowarding (Auto-start and time-speed-up) pretty well. Overall I do not regret having purchased the campaign. The (comic-like) vocals are bit annoying to me but the rest is nice. For me its like a (bit expensive) day off from DCS.

Hi. Just wanted to update DCS and it seemed as the updater was updated. But it now has 0KB and windows wont accept the file anymore. The error message is ~ "This app cant be run on this system; plz contact the developer of the app". So I cant start DCS through the normal link (or via the command in the powershell) but have to use DCS.exe which will not make an update. Anyone also know how ot restore my start-menu-entries? I by accident deleted the menu entry some time ago and ever since then used a direct link to DCS_updater.exe which now dont work eiter....

Can anyone who has listened to my recording tell me, if this sound is the correct sound in the Mirage or if its probably wrong? Thx.
