Excellent, thanks. No testing required I'll just give it another try.

Hi SorelRo, just wondering what the mission conditions are for Mission 3 with the silkworm battery? Does every single unit in the battery have to be taken out? Me and the wingmen blew the <profanity> out of the whole place but its hard to tell in the dark or through the FLIR what is alive and what is dead. I thought I had them all and landed and still ended up with a score of 50 so I was just wondering. Other than a lack of clarity with exact mission completion condition on my end I think so far this is an enjoyable campaign!

Nice!

It looks like in the mission briefs he's got the BullsEye in a Degrees 'Decimal Minutes' format so that has to be converted to DegreesMinutesSeconds for enter into the Harrier which in this case would be N26°09'58" & E056°14'21". Try that and see if it works.

Many thanks, will have a read up. I've used the same procedure in the Hornet so hopefully it'll be reasonably intuitive. Read Chucks Guide page 433. Come on dudes! Get with the Harrier Program!!! Just kidding around fellas, it looks to me like the Bullseye is listed in the briefing so I believe it needs to be entered as a new waypoint and then use the W O/S mode off of your newly entered waypoint to utilize the bullseye callouts. I actually had to refer to the CG myself for the Harrier as its been a long time since I've dealt with the offset command.

I think I remember the trigger being something about spooling down the throttle to idle and then the trigger will fire. I also think you have to land facing the crowd and right infront of the C-130. **Edit** I dug up my own similar question to this from a couple years ago...here's what I did to get it to work** Posted June 1, 2020 Got it to work, here were my parameters for anyone else having issues. I have to land within the center of the apache's and crowd, but as close to the airport terminal building as was safe. I was also facing out towards the sea. The trigger worked within 5 seconds of me having the chopper like that. I am now onto Mission 3, so far great campaign, really enjoying it!:thumbup

I don't think the Mi-24P was designed with any practical night operations in mind, its possible that maybe ferrying it around at night was thought about but as far as performing its operational role? Nuh-uh. So what you are experiencing is probably accurate to real life, enjoy the high fidelity of the sim!

Hi all. Just thought I would pop back on and let you know Broken Cauldron has been updated again(its up in the user files), probably the last major update! With the help of @Gretsch_Man robo voice overs have been added, which in my opinion are outstandingly well done, and some in mission extras have been added by him as well. I've also done a bit more bug fixing and added some better briefing images. I hope you all enjoy the extra effort we've put into this one and once again hats off to @Gretsch_Man who really went the extra mile to get this campaign updated to where it should be.

I think we should pay for the new CAUCASUS????
Gunnar81 replied to Psicodreamics's topic in DCS: Caucasus
If it got the treatment the Syria map has as far as updated villages/cities and push the detail a bit farther east (including Grozny please) this would hands down be the best map. I think at some point they are going to do something with it. They have to! -
Is the Hind too Twitty on take offs and landings .?
Gunnar81 replied to KoN's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
You sound like you are being too heavy handed on the controls to be honest, it took me a while to realize that's what my problem was before I learned to coax her gently around in the air. The hind is a big brute but it takes a gentle hand to fly it right, also liberal use of the trimmer is key to success. The other issue you might be having is the tears welled up in your eyes from your displeasure with ED & DCS causing you fly poorly and crash. Just sayin.... -

Try adding curves to your control axis' as well. Start around 8 and you should notice a relative slow down in the control inputs, makes it easier to control is those high torque situations. Play around with the curves and see what works for you! -
How do you know that? Did ED PM you and tell you that? Seems like a long time if you ask me..

fixed Huey AI Door Gunners not Firing after Apache Update
Gunnar81 replied to bitboy's topic in Bugs and Problems
Mama mia! This one is a recurring bastard! -
Start with an 8 on the curves for pitch, roll and even rudders. I went to 20 and it felt way to sluggish. Then it becomes waaaay easier to handle. I've never had curves on any other module but this one seems to be a must.

Thanks for these little tidbits of info, I was a bit confused with the autopilot in the Apache. My brain was thinking in terms of the Huey and Hind, but this cleared it up for me.
-
I agree. I am actually shocked that after a couple hours I had it flying, fighting and navigating from the back seat. What an intuitive machine, I am by no means great with the A-10's systems or even the Harrier's but this one just seemed to click after a very short amount of time. Hats off to ED

Its hella different than flying the Huey, I thought the same thing at first but as I got into how precise your movements have to be and just how maneuverable the Apache really is it starts to get easier. Try setting some curves as in Wags video, I set mine to 8 for pitch and roll and yaw and it made a huge difference. Before that it was a rodeo show on my monitor trying to hover, but then again I was used to controlling big Sovietski Mi-24

I don't think I do either, but I got sucked in and ordered it anyway. Unfortunately I think I'm about to find out I am more of a Hind guy. Turn helicopter on, look at dials, fire rockets, land helocopter.

The manchild has spoken!!!!

I think it would be a bit of a waste of piggybacking on some of the Apache development if they don't go with the Whiskey Cobra. The hellfire, traversing cannon, FLIR systems and RWR all have a bit of basic commonality. That and with the UH-1H already being a mature module they should be able to pull a little from 'A' and a little from 'B' to get a good jump start on the AH-1W.
-
I have a hunch this next open beta is going to contain a LOT of new updates and features across the board, including the Hind. I know the Apache is a huge deal for most people but ED has the other modules to keep up as well. I'm confident the Hind is going to get some major add ons here when the Apache arrives.

would a upgraded NATO MiG-29 or Su-25 be possible
Gunnar81 replied to upyr1's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Well for the SU-25 the Georgians had that Skorpian upgrade that they partnered up with the Israeli's on. We might not be able to get the SM3 Russian upgrades but the Skorpian stuff was pretty substantial for its time. I think if you google SU-25 Scorpian there's a good old fashioned late '90's VCR tape video showing off all the cool <profanity> it has. -
Mi-24P autopilot and weapons guides, + Aerodynamics
Gunnar81 replied to AeriaGloria's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
Way cool! Thanks for the effort. -
Arg! I want to be strong and wait for the Kiowa and bypass the Apache, but I don't know if I can! Heeeeeelp!

That's really cool. The work this community does sometimes is unreal!
