  1. Just want to revisit this one again as I've been practicing with CBU's in the Harrier. I've found that changing the fuse type to OP which has a 4S delay for canister separation has been working like a hot damn. My employment parameters are single CBU 99 dropped with CCIP at around a 30° or steeper dive at around 4000 feet MAX. I've scored direct hits on BMP's every time with this scenario. I am going to keep trying a few more things like bombs in pairs and setting the fuses in PRI mode for 4S delay to try as well. *Edit: I'm not sure this is actually a bug anymore gents, or ever was. I think it all has to do with employment dive angle, altitude and FUNCTION DELAY fuse settings of either PRI or OPT fuse options. In my findings a CCIP dive attack of around 30-35° with bomb release at around 4000 feet altitude above target with Function delay fuse settings of 2.5seconds on PRI FUSE blasts the target dead on and the canisters do in fact open 2.5S after leaving the weapon racks. I'm sure there is some kind of formula for '...at this dive angle and altitude release use Function Delay time of XXXXX' but I can't be bothered to do anything more than trial and error. I do know that a 4 second Function Delay for my above attack parameters resulted in the canisters not opening in time and the CBU's slammed into the BMP directly, while there was a small explosion the target was unaffected or took minimal damage.
  2. I just want to add that I flew this campaign in its entirety over the last week and encountered not a single bug. For anyone interested in using it for more Hog practice it seems perfect for that even in 2.9.
  3. This. With 2 empty fuel tanks and a TPOD with 6000lbs of internal fuel means you were around 3000lbs overweight if, as Holbeach said you had ideal ship and wind conditions. In a perfect scenario you want less then 20,000lbs gross weight if you can manage. I typically dump fuel till I have about 2,000lbs internal which gives enough for one wave off and retry. After that they need to get the rescue chopper ready lol.
  4. My beloved Harrier seemed ok to me last night, has it been a while since you took it for a spin? I know coming from fly by wire modules back to the Harrier after a while is a bit of an eye opener.
  5. And to think before this whole mess we were going to get a re-worked Harrier with a 3d model update and finished up systems...... Oh well, life goes on right?
  6. I could be off here but isn't there a trigger guard or lock that can be toggled and/or shut off in the special options menu? Its been a while since I played around in the Apache so maybe I'm thinking of a different module.
  7. Sounds like it might be a trim issue if you are landing with yaw peddle trim set for forward flight and when you are stationary on the ground it is trimmed to input peddle. I would try resetting trim after you touch down and set park brake as mentioned.
  8. I think this is the answer here. 20,500lbs is the MAX weight at perfect conditions at sea level with a strong head wind and the Tarawa going 20kts into that head wind. Even then you'll be using water just to transition and maintain a hover. With any kind of warm air temp and no head wind to transition into its going to be even harder on the jet. Gotta dump more fuel or stores as the conditions change regardless of what the VL values show on the MFD. I assumed the MFD values were showing what weights were permissible with the current conditions but maybe they are showing 'ideal' conditions? This I don't know.
  9. I did another test and I think you might be onto something here. I had to go around 600lbs below the stated fuel weight on the VL page before I could maintain a hover danger of dropping into the water. Basically I used the 'Dry' weight, dropped my fuel by 600lbs and used Water while landing. So MAYBE either the engine isn't producing enough thrust or the VL page is displaying incorrect values for fuel weight? Hard to say what is going on here. For clarity I was landing on the Tarawa at Sea Level, had a total weight of around 19,000lbs.
  10. Thanks for all the contributions by everyone here. This was an enlightening thread!
  11. I was hoping you'd comment AeriaGloria the wise sage of the Hind always has the answers. Hopefully I'll have some missions or a campaign to share with the community soon.
  12. Thanks, I figured it was about that but good to confirm!
  13. Anyone know roughly how long the Hind can fly on a full tank with a tyical loadout at cruising speed? Just looking for a rough number like 2hours or 1.5 hours...trying to make some longer missions and wondering how to plan FARPs etc. Thanks.
  14. 100%. I was going to build some Canadian bases in the area so I could think of building some Huey/Chinook missions but I think I'll wait for some map updates. Im hoping ED will go the Syria route and show these bases in better detail.
  15. The Harrier has had the pocket guide and the first 15 chapter part of the manual for something like 3 years now... Its actually superbly put together by BD I think. Once this is all over hopefully he'll resume and finish it.
  16. This bug is back again....
  17. Fair enough. Its a great jet.
  18. Dont overthink it. The Harrier is a great module and mostly feature complete. Buy it, enjoy yourself and leave the 72 pages of this nonsense behind.
  19. Right now in DCS, several of the FOBS in the Khandahar area have a blob of housing popped right over top their position. But you can see on the satellite imagery underneath there are HESCO barriers. I hope they at least fix this or leave these areas open for the playerbase to populate properly. OR go the Syria route and populate the map with the FOBs as part of the map. When you have a map that has had real world conflict this seems to make the most sense to me. People want to conduct missions out of real historical bases.
  20. There were off yes, which makes the issue all the more confusing. I think it might have been a 'one off' bug due to god knows what going on in DCS.
  21. I just tried this one tonight as well and both times my wings got caught on that fence. Think its from the recent map change, my guess is we have to go the long way around.
  22. Agreed. Guess we wait to see who or if anyone will update the module...
  23. There is a thread from way back I stumbled on last night have alseep I think on the Kerman Campaign sub forum. ChillNG mentioned using the OPT? fuse setting for higher altitude. Sounds like the CBU fuse settings for the Harrier are time based not altitude with the default fuse opening the canisters at 1.2 seconds. I'll see if I can find and link it below. See this thread for ChillNGs findings on the CBUs for the Harrier https://forum.dcs.world/topic/355977-mission-9-fails-due-to-killing-friendlies/#comment-5505639
  24. Its always pretty cool seeing someone dedicate their life to something singular like that. Mastery of the craft. I'm sure the opportunity popped up for him to move to a different airframe more than once, glad he stuck with it. Makes me want to load up and fly the Hawg!
  25. Just had a hiccup with this one as well. I've done the second show of force, destroyed the first AAA pop up and now on the second pop up Vader asks me to confirm tally. I can't get the radio menu to function, it just sits that showing the F10; 1 or 2 options graphic and not matter what I do nothing responds. On right radio channels and all that, not running a single mod or even TacView.
