  1. It would allow for a much bigger preloaded world not really a bigger world. Instead of preloading say 100km of terrain you could preload 1,000-10,000km of terrain into system memory to be paged to video memory. Also you have unit LOD's that must be loaded as well. It should allow for more units on the battlefield with less slowdown as they don't have to be paged from the hard drive. That doesn't mean that you can have like 1,000 tanks firing at each other at one time though because that is more dependant on processing power for physics and such, but actually having say 1,000 tanks on the battlefield at one time would be much more likely with more resources allowed. That's just as an example.
  2. Do you intend on implementing a 64 bit environment in black shark as well or is it just going to be for A-10C?
  3. He's not alone. After the patch when I tried to do the A-10 campaign, My fps started around 19 and dropped to about 10 as the mission progressed. No clue why it just does, could be an addon maybe but I'm not sure which one. This is on a Phenom II 940 @ 3.4ghz and HD 4870
  4. Does this alter the heat blur for jet engines as well?
  5. AFAIK only 2 people voiced an opinion on why they didn't want HL and Viper was responding to your posts about their opinions saying they have the right to voice them and they don't have to concur with your opinions. I will be quite frank, Your attitude towards other's who don't share your opinions tends to be downright hostile. You may just want HL back and in the community which is fine but alot depends on the way you go about doing such. You also tend to misconstrue opinions against an idea as opinions against yourself. I would suggest taking a deep breath and rereading some of the posts to get a better idea about where the "COMMUNITY" stands on this subject.
  6. This might be kind of redundant but what exactly are the pro's and con's of having HL for FC2? I mean before with IL2 and FC it was because there was no integrated server browser so it provided a common ground for people to meet and join servers. Now that there is an integrated server browser I honestly see no need for it, other than as a chatting platform which quite frankly this forum is serving that purpose just fine :megalol:. I would say its up to Jiri if he wants to add support for it and if he does thats fine and people who want to use it can. Hopefully he can for those who want to use it.
  7. Same, and the chopper sounds SUPERB!

    AMD Fusion

Yes I have used it and I have no idea what it does but it can improve performance somewhat and it will really heat up your cores. Some say it overclocks. It doesn't in the general sense that it raises the core speed however thats not to say there's something internal in the processor that it's overclocking or not.
  9. I've noticed the same and I notice sometimes during start up when I get the LWR going it starts going nuts saying all different kinds of directions then quits and when I run a test it doesn't work.
  10. Ok fine howza bout this one?!
  11. Here's a better one with the 3d desktop and the icons cleaned up some :smilewink: As far as the pictures I usually do a Google advanced images search for hi res usually over 3000x1500 or 6mp.
  12. Shrunk it down from 1920x1080. Also use a slideshow desktop so the picture always changes between like 200 different photo's.
  13. Maybe a dev could answer but I tried changing the explosive properties of the Vikhr's in the warheads.lua once and it didn't seem to make a difference. Also tried to increase burn time and acceleration time just for testing and also didn't change anything. I'm think their properties must be hard coded somewhere. You can change any other warhead, missile, bomb properties just not the vikhr's.
  14. These have great sound quality but can be uncomfortable over longer periods of time.
  15. Yeah It's pretty bad. I tried to create a 100 player mission and thought my mouse hand was eventually gonna cramp up and fall off.
  16. Under the first waypoint navigation type select Start from ramp. *edit* damn beat me to it while I was uploading the pic
  17. The scale of everything is fine. Face it a monitor cannot replicate the abilities of the human eye therefor you can't make a direct comparison. I consider zooming in to be the same as the eye focusing on something. To each his own. The only problem I have stated is that the model LOD's pop in way too close. If they went to hi poly LOD's farther out it would probably be harder and easier to spot targets in some regards. Camo doesn't make a bit of difference if its not displayed until 2km in. Also using proper tactics and scouting the target area is a big role as well as proper FAC. There are some things in this sim that we take for granted. Eyeballing a target 15km out is really friggin hard, why do you think they have systems like Shkvals and FLIR?
  18. I just did a test as I have found that sometimes the ground targets are hard to spot. I put a row of targets from a humvee up to a M1 in an open field. I'm running the game at 1920x1080 8xAA edge detect(24x AA?) and 16xAF This is from about 15km to the target fully zoomed in, Knowing beforehand roughly where the targets were. This is from 8km somewhat zoomed in. And lastly this is from 3km somewhat zoomed in. In all 3 pictures you can see the targets visually, even from 15km out. One thing I happened to notice is that the LOD's tend to switch way to close. once you get into the 5-8km range I think the models should become more detailed, not so they look "prettier" but so they aren't a 4 sided square box that is harder to make out from the terrain than say something that looks more like a humvee or a abrams. As it is though it's not impossible to find targets even out to 15km. It's very very hard to, which to me is realistic. The only thing I would suggest is having the higher poly LOD's switch at a little further range to make spotting a bit easier.
  19. Really sounds good diveplane!
  20. I use ATI tray tools to force vsync triple buffering and do AA and AF. Works fine for me here. You say you can't because of the -console command in the shortcut? check it again and make sure because mine has the console command and it works. Also I have a 4870 so it might make a difference since you have a newer 5870? ATT might not have support for those yet. *edit* oh one thing im thinking of is that if you don't use the latest beta on Ray's skydrive then your using an ATT from like 2005 before these cards were even thought of. Make sure you get it from the guru3d ATT beta forum under his link for latest beta build. http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=320467

    I won!

The tenants in high level apartment buildings wouldn't appreciate that :megalol:
  22. haha the guy is too funny.
  23. Low frequency sounds don't damage the ear as easily as higher frequency sounds up in the Khz range I thought.
  24. Depends if I jack the bass up on my headphones I can definitly feel the afterburner
  25. It is from a mission with a custom loadout that you don't have. Could be under 1 specific role such as AFAC or CAS where as the one you say you do have is under another one.
