CombatWombat's Airfield Diagrams: Syrian Theatre
Snakedoc replied to shu77's topic in DCS: Syria Map
thank you @shu77 for your amazing work!! I managed to install your PG charts with no issues but I'm having a problem with the Syria charts. I installed them into DCS World OpenBeta/Mods/terrains/Syria/Kneeboard but once in game they don't show up when I use the kneeboard. I tried to change the format to .jpg but same result. Does Syria Map have a different folder where you should install the map-specific kneeboard images? Thanks -

DCS FPS drop, possible from anomalous shader recompilation?

delete the folders then run a repair. Shaders will recompile once loading the game -

Here's the path: Drive:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\terrains\*Terrain name*\misc\metacache\ delete/rename the "dcs" folder. Repeat for each terrain module you own Hope this helps -
DCS FPS drop, possible from anomalous shader recompilation?
Snakedoc replied to Aernov's topic in Game Performance Bugs
hi Aernov, Old shaders in the "fxo" and "metashaders2" folders are known to cause stuttering, frame loss and texture corruption (e.g. FLIR view broken, over-exposed). It's a good habit to delete these folders once in a while, especially after a game update/driver update or if you've experienced any anomalies in game. The first time you'll reload a mission or flight it will take longer as it needs to recompile all the shaders, but after the first load it will be back to normal. There are also other folders where the map cache/shaders are stored which you can delete if you experience any weird glitches. Can't remember the location right know but I'll update the post later *edit* Drive:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\terrains\*Terrain name*\misc\metacache\ delete/rename the "dcs" folder. I think what Taz meant is that when you load more units you are indeed increasing the VRAM usage, but you're asking for more units to be present to make the mission more interesting/alive/more obj/etc ( = feature ). In the case of 32 bit normal maps you are increasing the VRAM usage but with no benefit gained from it compared to the 8 bit, only with a disadvantage of losing available VRAM

Pretty sure is normal behavior due doppler effect. You should select a target offset to either side or maneuver the aircraft to have the target not directly in front of you. IIRC wags mentions this on one of the introduction videos about the ground radar
-
never said that was the statement :) hopefully one day we'll get those new functionalities implemented :)

I guess that the update of the coolie down command came after that initial post from NineLine so maybe they still have to reflect that in the manual? this is the latest Wags video which talks about the latest update of the A10C II including some of the new hotas commands: https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/english/digital-combat-simulator/dcs-a-10c-ii-tank-killer/288715-dcs-a-10c-ii-tank-killer-faq-mini-updates?p=7117399#post7117399

https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/englis...=9#post6445854 Here's the post made by NineLine about the new hotas commands Can't remember exactly where I read that the new functions will be added during the EA period but you can see it's happening with the recent HMCS coolie switch logic. It's probably a post somewhere here on the forums (or maybe it was mentioned in one of Wags videos) IIRC HOTAS logic has and will be changed to match the updated "suite" of the real jet (there's a discussion also here about the "suite 9" by Snoopy). It won't likely be a 1:1 representation of the real thing for obvious reason but close

I think some of the new HOTAS commands will be implemented at a later date during its EA cycle (iirc ED mentioned something like this) Same for the new CMS switch logic which is not in the game yet

fixed also for me! Nice work ED:thumbup: -
Just wanted to say a big THANK YOU ED for this update! Very nice to see all these fixes being introduced and the overall game performance improved. Great job! Absolutely LOVE the new gun sounds for the vulcan and the GAU-8 both in-cockpit and exterior :D I initially experienced some stutter every 10 seconds or so in PG map but after reading this 3d I saw that they're linked to the Mustang's terrain mod. Once I removed the mod the stutters disappeared and I even got a nice FPS bump. Really pleased to see that! Keep up the great work ED!

yes

according to the changelog the fix didn't make it to the A10C II, just the OG A10C. I can see the new viewpoint when playing on the OG A10C, but the A10C II still has the "old" view
-
FYI it is still present also in the OG version of the A10C. Link to a previous 3d which has been already tagged "reported" https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/english/digital-combat-simulator/dcs-a-10c-warthog/bugs-ab/290148-reported-cockpit-texture-error-and-mfd-text-description-language-error

In the meantime that we're waiting for the official fixes, I took the liberty to fix some of the missions myself, specifically mission 3, 9 and 14. If anyone wants to give it a go here's the 3d and the link to download the fixes: Op Piercing Fury campaign FIX 2.5.6 Once again thank you Ranger79 for making these missions available to all of us!

are you pressing the nose wheel steering button after the boom disconnects? This resets the refueling system and makes it ready to (re)accept the boom

Hello there, this is a bug which is tagged [FIXED INTERNALLY] so I assume in the next OB should be fixed. At the moment all the VMU warnings are not playing (pull up, pull up, altitude altitude, speed brake speed brake, warning autopilot, etc) [FIXED INTERNALLY] where is the girl speaking? Funnily enough they do work on the OG A10C

Tried this one out today and keeping in mind that is not intended for public use I found that one major positive (at least for me) is that the objects, shadows, etc are rendered at the same distance with both eyes  which is a welcome change since with it turned off they render at different distances and it's super annoying and distracting when using VR. It comes as a "cost" that cockpit flood lights now are rendered only with one eye so I just turn them off... However this looks promising and I look forward to see the polished version. @BIGNEWY any update on this?
